Maybe not the ripping to that extent, but I have a cat who sometimes seizes upon any slightly curled or folded piece of paper and bite and tear little pieces of it off, so I come back to find corners missing. I am careful not to leave important papers out on my computer desk, lest she spoil them. Cats also enjoy lying under lamps because of the warmth.
