Joe Jackson = One of a scant few musicians who makes you sit up, take notice and give respect rather than cringe when they strap on a Keytar. You can include his Recorder playing too! Thanks for posting this CongaGenius!
I also saw Joe on this tour and he was awesome! I was so very fortunate to find him at a tiny venue in Winnipeg, Canada with maybe 400 seats. I walked right up to the stage and drank in his genius....
AWESOME SONG, NEVER HEARD OF IT TIL I HEARD ON THE TOM LEYKIS LAST RADIO SHOW ON KLSX 97.1 FM IN L.A , EVER SINCE THEN I HAVE THIS SONG IN MY HEAD LOVE THE LYRICS, GREAT JOB CongaGenius. THIS SONG IS HONR THE GREAT TOM LEYKIS WHO SOON WILL MAKE HIS RADIO COMEBACK!
I'll never forget the college roommate I had in '80 who used to preach and play Joe Jackson to us and we were too ignorant to get it. Same with the B-52s.
Well. You get older and you learn what's good good.
I was in the navy at sea in 1979 on a med cruise going to the ships store out of boredom, and a good SK had the foresight and brilliance to order a copy of "Beatcrazy" which I purchased with the attitude the I must reach out musically, to broaden my horizons, and son of a bitch, if I didn't!
She wasn't a working musician before that.. she probably couldn't play guitar at all prior to the go go's. they were all just babies when they signed and hit with their first album. She definitely wasn't playing for other people prior to the go go's.
Like I said, we established that it isn't her. Barring that knowledge, however, it is plausible that someone could be touring with a known musician as a backup, only a measley three years prior to being in a band herself. No need to belabor the point, I'm aware it isn't Jane Weidlin.
sense of humor... sense of humor... I am a comedy writer and video/film producer...Notice I didn't say "fuck off" THAT would have been crude and uncalled for... but "piss off" is funny!
this first lesson on the psychology of comedy is free to you today. By the way, why are you sitting inside in your undies looking at youtube on such a fine Saturday?
No, that's not sense of humor, it's being rude unnecessarily. For your information, I'm an MBA student and I'm working on an important project this weekend which is why I'm inside. Maybe when you quit your job at McDonald's you'll come to appreciate something like that. Bye now, junior.
I have already quit my job, junior.. That why I AM sitting in my undies inside on this fine Saturday, readng your delightful, witty repartee. I am counting the days until my unemployment check arrives so I can buy some more rolling papers, and Scooter Pies. Until then, the cigs get wrapped in back issues of Monster Trucks 'N Nekkid Wimmin' magazine pages.

Lest their be any doubt Joe Jackson is indeed - THE MAN. Joe, Graham and Dave will be touring behind a new CD in 2008. Be sure and catch them. A brilliant, rousing, party of a time!
I got turned on to JJ in the late 70's. Saw him at red rocks in colorado in the early 80's with paul young. what a great show. outside at the base of the rockies. I have been a junkie for him ever since. I saw he was touring in Europe, has anyone here seen a show yet. Go Joe!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice clip from 16 years ago, when I was just really starting to get into Joe. Wish the sound wasn't so tinny, but a nice video shots of the guys jamming to one of my favorite songs.

Is that Jane Wiedlin playing guitar? Looks like her way of playing but I can't imagine why she'd be in the band.

the Go-go's first album came out in 1982.

Right but that doesn't mean Jane Weidlin wasn't working before that as an unknown in music. We're established it's not her already though.

It's the multi-talented Mindy Jostyn, who played on JJ's 1991 tour in support of his album, "Laughter and Lust". Sadly, Mindy passed away in 2005.

That was my first JJ concert, in Berkeley, CA.
I was in a real funk today, and this snapped me out of it instantly. And I do mean instantly. How does he do that?
