  • i know i've asked before but what drums are those? all of them, aux snare, main snare, and the kit and sizes of toms aswell. I want a set up just like that (excluding the aux snare.) so a five piece with two floors. and i love yours !

  • Love everything about this. ACE!

  • Your drum and bass tutorials are great - I purchased your backing tracks today from iTunes and had fun jamming to "Bashing In the Fast Lane"....keep up the good work! :-)

  • Thanks, that's great to hear :-)

  • I counted 24 of those patterns in that song. 24 or 25

  • I think you're right with the 24 :-)

    Cheers Ydna

  • all is fine and dandy with skilled drumming. No diss but ppl don't know what Rave is these days huh ? I might have heard 1 proper loop that could be claimed in a D'n'B tune :\

  • i've always wondered why i couldnt recreate the "dubble snare hit" on a drum machine but now i see its just the same snare but hit on a different angle.

  • Your BPM feels sorta, laid back? Are you playing at 170+ BPM? It really doesn't sound like it...

  • do you have a sample kit or something i could buy to make some dnb?

  • Hi Ydna, I would like to thank you for learning me fills and beats like this. I am more of a rock / metal drummer but I can definitely appreciate DnB/Jungle. Anyway, what is the main hihat pedal you're using and how does it respond? And what is that little snare?

Again, thank you for taking the time to teach us these great beats and patterns and happy holidays!

  • You're very welcome :-) The hi-hat pedal is a DW 5000. It works great. There are probably better pedals out there but I'm happy with it. The aux snare is a 10" Mapex Black Panther 5x5.5. There's a video on my channel called Ydna Murd's Drumset Tour, check it out :-) All the best

    Ydna

  • what is the drum on the far left?

  • This is a modified 10" Sonor Jungle Snare. A video on my channel is dedicated to this snare, it's called Sonor Jungle Trash Snare, check it out :-)

    Cheers

    Ydna

  • Yes - a very good instructor. do you teach personally? If so - where?

  • Thank you :-) I teach at the Academy of Music, in Powell River, Canada, which is at the West Coast, north of Vancouver.

    Cheers

  • @Jungleritter Thanks dude, sounds great!!! =)

  • yea its brilliant stuff

  • YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!

  • you are an extremely good instructor mate. Well done!

  • Thanks a lot, I really appreciate your comment :-)

  • Thank you for the lesson. Excellent idea ! Thanks for posting !

  • Hello Jungleritter !

The break you use at the beginning is interesting.

I'm an Indian tabla player, and we use of a lot of those kind of breaks.

We call them "tihai". Basically it's 3x the same pattern, and the very last note is at the same time the very last note of the 3 blocks AND the One of the next pattern.

The one you are using, I count it in 16th notes like:

    12345 -

    12345 -

12345 <- this 5 is the One of the next pattern.

For 7/4, it is 3x (12345789) (the very last 9 will be the One).

  • Hi :-) I know what a tihai is, we studied this when I was studying music/drums at school. I love tabla playing and indian rhythms in general, they are so rich and sophisticated.

    Take care

    Ydna

  • Damn nice the technics u play i like it and your drumkit sounds amazing ok again like ur PLAYING lol.

    With Metal Greets

    Frank"TANK"

  • Thanks Frank :-) That's really nice to hear!

    All the best!

    Ydna

  • Very inspiring and well explained/demonstrated. And your kit sounds absolutely AMAZING! Pocket! What is the effect-stack above your 10" Black Panther?

  • Thanks mate :-) Above the Mapex snare is a 10" Chopper effect cymbal made by Sabian with an added custom cut former crash cymbal on top. It doesn't change the sound of the Chopper, it just adds another sound option to my drums.Cheers Ydna

  • He's not really that pocket though.

  • ola batera que caixa auxiliar é essa que vocÊ usa? , a caixa secundaria muito boa parabéns...

  • Really love your lesson!!! Thank you for sharing :D I'm waiting for new stuff..

    Ydna

Btw all your videos are awesome, D&B drumming is allways so..impressive! And U really know how to drum!

  • Thanks for the kind words :-) The black aux snare is a 10" Mapex Black Panther, the other aux snare at the bottom of the video is a 10" Sonor Jungle Snare.

  • erinnert mich vieles an altes jungle drum n bass zeugs, klasse!

  • Thats a nice bass you've got on the wall there :D

  • Yeah, that's a Cord and my favorite bass, love to play it, you got keen eyes :-)

  • WOW! thats amazing and believe it or not my fave parts (besides the end Live jam) where when u messed up because it just shows "Hey Shit Happens" lol Im going to subscribe to your channels, Thanx again! -Joey G

  • Thanx mate!! It's true, I mess up at least once in all of my videos. I never practice what I'm going to tape, it's more like a real drum lesson and that's the way I want it to be. I could easily stop the tape and redo it, but perfect is boring, hahaha.

    Cheers
