man, I love fishing these things but I've never caught one using a spook. And I have lots. I usually throw a white one. I have the one in this video in a smaller size. It's too small to throw on my bait caster.

any suggestions?

When do you make the choice to fish this lure? Also, what colour is that particular lure?

@PatrickZajdel There really is no wrong time to fish topwater. I fish it all day long and still have great results. My key has been to fish these lures over points, above rock shelves, and anytime there is a "slight" ripple on the water.

Just remember, if it's sunny outside, fish will tend to move close to cover. Try throwing these lures next to logs, on the edge of a weedline, etc.

If you miss a strike, pick up a senko rod and follow up with that. Hope this helps you Patrick!

@BassinNW Ahh man! I saw the velvet on the antlers tho. Lol But my neighbor gave me a Zara Spook last week and I played around with it yesterday at my cousins pond and I had a small booger strike at it but he didnt hang on. Lol I caught 4 bass; not much size.

@sweetness72rawr haha, there are some good sized bucks around here. Stick with the Zara, give it a chance. It will catch you fish. If the fish aren't aggressive, give it a couple short pops and let it sit for 20 seconds before moving it again...

I fish really heavy structure so i prefer to use a baitcaster but i have really hard time walking the dog with the baitcaster but no problem with a spinning rod anytips?

@Krisp456 Your reel shouldn't be causing issues with that presentation. Are both rods the same, as in the action? (Fast, Medium, Slow).

Walking the dog comes from the action from your rod, not your reel. Just trying to eliminate any problems first..
