  • Tools are nice, but they only are the dressings really. All you need is yourself.

  • @RoadieRon Exactly.

  • I wanted to have a friend like you, so we could perform rituals and spells together. And about the video, I agreed with you, and it's nice to have supportive people with you. Well, I've never met a person who shares the same religion as I do, that's why I wanted you as a friend =D

  • @MissTeraC Haha, well I know how you feel. I don't know anyone with similar enough beliefs in person. I know some like-minded people, but they don't follow the same path I do, so we may celebrate some things together or cleanse crystals together, but not much else.

  • I have to say that I totally agree with you. I buy crystals, jewelry, books, and other things but I also don't believe that it's necessary to get everything, especially not right away. A lot of the stuff I have on my altar I had found outside, and some of it I had had for a while, even before I became Wiccan. I think that basically any stick you find can be used as a wand, as long as you feel at all connected to it. Thank you for sharing! )O(

  • i have a quick question about 2 things on the altar. i have only been wiccan 2 months so please bare with me. i kno that many people use a feather on their altar? i have only seen those small grey little feathers, but the only feather i have is (don't laugh) a peafowl/peacock feather, can i use that? also the wand, can i use any stick or something like that that i just find outside, or does it need to be something specially made by someone?

  • @MegForever1000 Most people I know that use feathers do use peacock sometimes, or mostly crow or turkey or something. Anything long is what I've seen. A wand can be whatever you want, and yes, people who make their own tend to start with a stick from outside. You can decorate it however you like, remove the bark or not, tie things to it, paint it, whatever. The thing that people tend to not know when they start is that your tools don't have to be fancy. They can be simple. Whatever YOU like.

  • i make all my own tools i find i am closer to them and they work better for me. i also grow my own herbs and i do get a few tools as gifts but i tend to make most of them. i love knowing that this is some thing i have made and that i have a closer connection with it.

    blessed be

  • That is so true....I mean I don't use tools besides like candles.....I like connecting with everything and just using what is available, like my hands and my mind (like you said) Another great vid! :)

  • i just wanted 2 say something about ur malichite pendulum tht u mentioned on ur spirit board vid. malichite can be very poisonous and like u said can amplify energies 2 an extreme level. i would also recommend wearing an amethyst while using ur spirit board because sometime u can be a potential target to psychic attacks especially nice u use a malichite pendulum.

  • The pendulum is clear quartz; the stone in my spirit board is a malachite. Just to clarify.

  • oh im sorry lol. i misunderstand sometimes ^_^

  • It's so nice to see such a level-headed young Witch. Much more level-headed than some older ones IMHO. The way I learned it was that one should make their own tools as much as possible. I think the commercialism of Paganism is overdone. Too many things are mass-produced. On the one hand, there are Pagans out there that have a craft and use it to supplement their income, and supporting them is good. But too much obsession with things and "look what I got" gets on my nerves after a while.

  • Great vid, i agree. It's not just having tools for the sake of having tools. :)

  • Great video, foxy poxy...do you like that nickname? Has nothing to do with you, but it came into my head.

  • great points! i have most tools from family friends, Christmas gifts, things from my beloved dead that give special meaning to what i use. i do buy things but i tend to wait till what i need or want finds me.

  • I'd have to say I agree with you. I am fortunate enough to have such wonderful people in my life that gift things to me as well. My mother has given me so much to be grateful for from support to tools.. I'm also one of those people who wants to make everything themselves. :D And I'm talking about anything possible.. from bread and clothes to ritual items. Nice vid! Thanks! BB

  • You are lucky to have supportive people in your life that give you tools.

  • I am ever thankful, believe me. That will be one of the specific things I give thanks for today.

  • ooh i so love the background! n_n

  • Thanks! It's a tapestry thing hanging on the wall over my bed. =)

  • I think it goes both ways. There are something I agree you HAVE to make like a staff for example. Other things many people can't make. The way I go is if I have to buy tools I only get them from other Draois or Celtic Pagans.

  • I would love to make my own wand, but for now I have a nice one from my mom that was bought. But I never use it. If I made one, I would.

I remember you saying somewhere before that you get your things from them, which I think is a great idea.

  • Once I get ready to remake videos again I am going to make a vid responce to this.
