  • Then there was '66 when we were given a permit to parade up Church Street. And that was the end of THAT little custom...the giant banana, the big, paper-mache, purple Knight giving the finger, the Nazi float. You wouldn't believe the stuff that went on if I told you.

  • No offense Alum '74 (I'm an alum '96), but you sound old. 1974 Pday and modern Pdays are like comparing apples to oranges. LEGAL drinking age is not 18 anymore. It' s not even worth comparing. As someone who works with college students daily (not at SMC, unfortunately). Rest assured, students are still creating lasting, special memories for themselves, enough to keep my stress levels elevated..... But, alums always like to think it was better "back in the day."

  • ???? Not a keg in sight ???? My how things have changed since 1974 P-Day of unlimited kegs across the street, unlimited free eats, demolition derby(real cars/real crashes) cliff diving for distance to win a keg...........change? good or bad? but it sure was fun
