The trailer is weight it helps as well, the chevy doesnt have a diesel probably a 6.0 the ford is a 7.3 so it has more weight on the front wheels to help it move itself and the chevy, trailer and rhino. is trucks vs sand truck vs sand and the ford was better distributed. CAUSE OF THE DIESEL. Both are good trucks just ford diesel better for that situation.
The problem is he did not air down the tires on the trailer. If you air all the tires down to 15psi on the truck and trailer then you will have no problem getting around the sand. I have camped back in the dunes with my 25 foot toy hauler and got it back there with my f150 and a friend was right there with me in his 1500 silverado.

I don't think they would have made it with out the two in the back. It was real close there for a minute! I pulled a minivan out of the snow a few years back in 2wd with no trouble, she just couldn't get the wheels to stop spinning. So the 6 kids in the back got out and started pushing and I told them to stand back but the didn't listen and when I stopped she slid forward again about 12 inches and almost ran over her own kids. lol

Hmmm...looks like the reason why the Chevy got stuck is because it had a big trailer hooked to the back of it in the sand and they forgot to lower the tire pressure. Otherwise it would not have gotten stuck. I would like to see them unhook the Chevy from the trailer, then hook the Ford up to the trailer, to see if the Ford could move the trailer...

thicks460... Your right about that, Fords 6.7 is as strong and badass as they come, the new tranny deserves alot of credit for its sucess as well. However, with an aftermarket tq converter and a little work the new Dodge auto transmissions are more popular and can handle alot more hp and tq than any Allison. After about 200ft lbs tq past stock, an Allison will come apart.

A heavy 4 door diesel will sink in sand quite easily by itself. But add the weight in the bed PLUS another truck (that had already began to sink) PLUS a travel trailer, then that rates quite a bit higher than JUST pulling something, don't you think???

@bighead29058 Go watch the video of a ford pulling a camper through the beach when its in almost 3 foot of water. Ford wouldn't get stuck in dinky sand like other trucks do.

@2003LincolnLS bro? yeah to bad the brand new ford turbo deisel has no fucking balls in friends with the owner of the for garage in my town he told me to come down and try one out, pullin out of the lot he told me to punch it. the tires bearly squeeked. so i brought him to my house my 05 cummins can roast the tires in 3rd gear from a stop. needless to say he owns the for dealer and also own a cummins, best motor ever made. ford can blow me.

thicks460... Your right about that, Fords 6.7 is as strong and badass as they come, the new tranny deserves alot of credit for its sucess as well. However, with an aftermarket tq converter and a little work the new Dodge auto transmissions are more popular and can handle alot more hp and tq than any Allison. After about 200ft lbs tq past stock, an Allison will come apart.

@MrSockoOck It's not JUST that he pulled something. Not only did he have a load in the bed, not only did he pull another truck, but he also pulled a fairly heavy travel trailer. AND he did it in THICK SAND.
A heavy 4 door diesel will sink in sand quite easily by itself. But add the weight in the bed PLUS another truck (that had already began to sink) PLUS a travel trailer, then that rates quite a bit higher than JUST pulling something, don't you think???

@WKHalford Well if you're talking about ford being better than chevy, they're all pretty much the same. It's only a matter of weight and traction. if that were a 4 door duramax and there was a gas ext. cab ford, and the duramax had a load in the bed and the ford had the camper, it would have had the same results. But if you were saying what i was saying then i totally agree :D
