Shouldn't ADV_AGE be removed from the table? It's unnecessary to include the age of an advisee, as it can be calculated by substracting the ADV_DOB from the current date.
Because a Rank record is related to more than one Employee record (e.g., EMPNUM 114 and 118 both have the same Rank of Asst. Professor), couldn't we add a fourth table called RANKS with RANK_ID as the primary key, and add RANK_ID as a foreign key in the EMPLOYEES table? Good job!
10x a lot i finally learned it :)) I have my database cis209 exam on 6th may! :( but is this fully normalized or it can be further broken down to BCNF?
I really appreciate this video. My professor (in Intro to SQL) recommended this because when she explained it the entire class was lost. This cleared a lot of things up! I wish you were teaching this class instead, might make more sense.
Great video... can someone help me understand the last word of the first statement "Normalization is the process of breaking a table down into multiple tables until each has only one _____". Thanks...
thank you very much, i have a final in 3 hours and i finally got it... may i point out that you remind me of Emily Procter who plays Calleigh Duquesne in CSI Miami :P
Thankyou soooo much ! awsome video that really helped me ! I cant really express my gratitude to you on a youtube comment, but i hope this is thanks enough because you thouroughly deserve it ! :D
now i feel confident for my coming exam!thanks a lot!!shame on the time i spent with my notes

I prefer the idea of keeping my foreign keys as the last fields, as to indicate they are repeated on another table.
