This is a marvelous documentary Michael, on many levels. The music, the visuals, the commentary, Martin Hayes is amazing, and Dennis Cahill is no slouch. Thanks for uploading. I look forward to watching the other segments.
Oh ya dun it again! I ADORE your videos. I do plan on coming sometime my last half of this life. :) I was told all my life the story of County Cork and how we came from there, so must go there first before Clare. :)
Hiya, thanks a mill for posting this. Do you know what year it was made? I put my first vid up last week here - Martin playing in the Courthouse at the Tulla festival last year, think it's beautiful. Must admit, I prefer him playing stuff fairly straight, is more complex in a strange sort of way... Look forward to watching all the rest of these at a bit of a more decent time!! Off to bed now. xx
Interesting documentry. I've actually Martin Hayes talking. This makes a good deal of sense. I like Martin's playing sometimes. When he plays traditional tunes in a paced, bare-boned, Clare manner. Some of his stuff is not my taste but I really liked his expression "I abused the music" when talking about this stuff he didn't like playing. Thanks clarebannerman.

That is truly extraordinary, how he dances in the chair, not because he wants to, because he needs to.
