As always, thanks so much Tony! I currently hate my "craft" and want to move onto something in which I have better talents -- that means illustration.
We just need to remind folks. People have been brainwashed for a long time to believe that the stuff at Walmart is good enough. We can do better. Thanks for your comment, Tony
Very true. With Flash design it took me a long time to make anything worthwhile. To start with things took me weeks and sometimes months now it takes hours. I'm relatively new to photography and its still hit and miss cos I still have a lot to learn. The key thing is you have to fail a lot to learn.
Great comments Tony...as always. Question tho, how do you assess the blossoming of digital photography? In our astronomy club there were a few people who kept their distance at first, but now they are totally devoted to digital media. Do you think removing the photographer from the darkroom to the computer is a step backwards?
Not at all. The tools are getting better all the time. The biggest advantage of digital is the number of images you can shoot without reloading. When I was shooting football, I'd carry 3 camera bodies with 40 or so exposures per body and I'd swap lenses. I still missed shots while reloading. With one digital body and a 2 gig CF card, I can shoot over 500 images without reloading.
Film didn't disappear. There are still lots of folks shooting film and making great art. For someone interested in the best image quality, digital photography still falls short, IMO. I love it that both exist and can be used if the job requires it. Thanks, Tony.
