I saw them several times on the "middleage spectaculum" in Germany and they rocked ALL and everybody! To see them play live is incredibale, to drink with them, more an adventure. Nevertheless, they play extraordinary music and I am happy to share this next year again. Keep on the good work, guys!
Greetings from Germany to great voices of Scotia, Saor Patrol.
The saor patrol will be playing live at the Savoy sports centre Methil on the 1st Oct 10
for a boxing show; for the best night of your lives be there it starts at 6 till 12 there will be drink ,women, boxing and the best Scottish band in the world MAD IF YOU MISS IT
remember seeing them a long time a go in cornwall not so far form tintagel on a reanactment party at night i really enjoyed it then when i was only 8 or something
OK, the definition of "Saor" is not in my great grandmother's 1802 book of Robert Burns poems. It has a dictionary in the appendix and it is not there. Anyone?
Amazing ! And the drum solo sounds a lot like Boney M's Nightflight to Venus... aren't they planning to come to Brazil ? Just imagine, Saor Patrol in São Paulo.
it's funny how the same idiots who call bands like this shitty because they have "bagpipes in them" are also the same people who listen to 50 cent and Taylor Swift and think that they're artists changing the world.
Fucking Children.
If they weren't necessary for the future, i'd say get rid of them all
@assede1 just saw em in the States at Grandfather Mountain Highland games in NC FING AWESOME is all i can say i didnt miss a set from these guys all weekend
Jeezus, I was watching this (for the first time) while accidentally listening to the audio from their website on another tab. I thought, "They can't be this shitty". Mistake corrected and lo and behold, I love it. Silly Wizard with some chainsaw thrown in. Ace!
This fantastic band just brought the city of Nottingham to its knees!! Children, old folks, chavs, goths, shoppers, just tottally spellbound!! the big beating heart of Scotland came to the Midlands for a short time today - go "Saor Patrol"
This guy can't even spell hard right? Maybe it should be Third Reich? Or Arkright?
I can just see him clutching his Andy Stewart and Moira Anderson "LP's" dreaming of nice pleated kilts and pretty girls doing the Highland Fling.
These guys look like an authentic replica of our actual origins. While I do admire "traditional" pipe bands give me these guys anytime. I hate snobbery in art and ArdRigh is reeking of it.
The electric guitar keeps a link with the present by the way. Keep it up lads
Tradition bearers are the minority due to the high regard bestowed upon them, they inform the majority. Gordon Duncan was one of our best pipers who evolved within the form, a seriously dedicated musician.
Freeing our culture begins with accurately knowing the origins and the roles within our communities, what influences corrupted this in recent years and how to chart the path to the future. Pandering to english media stereotypes or "Brigaoon" or "Braveheart" pish, is not the way forward.
correct yes, FYI we dont pander to the braveheart pish as you call it but still the media as you call it at least awoke a whole nation up to the fact that there was more to our culture than shortbread, bagpipes and little dolls wearing busbies.
Ard Righ 'high king my arse' imagine claiming that title for yourself!!- you're just the kind of anorak that sucks all the joy out of life. .....'you're not here to njoy yourself boy! - now get playing those pipes until your fingers bleed. You're like teachers I knew that made scottish culture a nightmare!
I've met Saor Patrol on many occasions and they are even better Live.
I would just like to point out that they Filmed this at Bruces Tower in Clackmannan which is in Clackmannanshire or the "Wee Coonty" as we call and not in the Kingdum of Fkin Fife
I'd love to love what your doing, yet I cannot, because it promotes the same trivialising and inaccurate portrayal of our culture as those "Gold Bros" on the Edinburgh High street, riding the long past wave of post-bravehart-opertunism.
Authentic portrayal and evolution within our cultural forms is the order of the century, by tradition bearers.
At least we dont allow our music to be sold in Gold Brothers and exactly evolution!!! Nail on the heid, something in your eighty odd years you have failed to acknowledge ya auld numpty. you dont know the first thing about what we do for our our culture as part of a wider organisiation. We have been working towards freeing our culture and hetitage in education fr the past 14 years now and voluntarily. But I am sure you would slate that too cos that just the type of goon you are.
My name's Ally, I've seen you's a few times at the Edinburgh Festival & have your Full Boar album-what a sound!! I love the energy of your music and the tribal rhythms, you's always leave your mark when you come to Edinburgh!! Absolutely fantastic!!! :-)
