i dont think tillikum is a bad whale things like this happen not often but still i love killerwhales and i think tillikum has a lot of aggresive behavior because he misses his family. i think they should do what they did to keiko [free willy] let him decide to be free

Hmmm I wonder what happens if I jump into a tank at seaworld with the biggest whale in captivity in a tiny tank after hours. Even if Tilikum did kill the guy, it's his fault completely..even the trainers aren't allowed to swim with him so what makes this guy think he can? >.> Even though he died of hypothermia you see people saying Tilikum has KILLED 3 humans now. Sea World San Diego claimed they call all the whales 'Shamu' which apparently is the native word for the orca.

They must have names internally, but apparently there is no actual Shamu. Maybe there once was a long time ago...

Shamu died in 1971 She was the female partner of Namu. Namu was the first orca to be alive long enough to be considered a public attraction and Shamu was his partner she was leased to Sea world San diego, they have since kept the name. Most public that know the difference believe it is out of respect.

@bucktheusa there was a shamu and she died in 1971 i believe and she got her name from her male partner who's name was Namu and they made her shamu which was a combination of she and namu:) and yes all the other whales have real names for example: orkid,tilikum,trua.kalia,nakai­,corky,ulisises,kayla,katina,k­atsaska, and more :) you can just ask which ones they are at sea world they will tell you who is who

Yes but the local media here has reported so many false stories about it today. They read emails from so called former employees who said they warned about the whale while not even checking to see if they worked at Sea World. Finally a friend of hers who was confirmed called the station and said it was just an accident .

@killerwhales9 Not everybody knows that it takes three years before even being able to get into the water with these awesome creatures. He was drunk, hence part of the reason why he did this act.
