I have a buddy who had that Marantz CD player, but it quit working so he got rid of it. It only played up to 15 tracks if I remember correctly.

you guys are brainwashed in believing that vinyl and cassette is better than CD's, just because it's analog. I'll tell you that a Hi-End cd player with the right Hi-end equipment is better than any vinyl or cassette. Why do i say that ?! well because i've heard Vinyl, Cd and Cassette.

Its because we listen to music on machines that dont sound like shit your not cus you buy Cds because marketing tells you its the best its not the only thing it has that analog doesnt have is that its shiney ont the bottom thats it, the sound and playback quality is shiting for the birds that and the machines look & sound like shit.

screw cds i never plan on ever buying another as long as i live! i havent bought ownd a cd or player in 6 years because of the simple fact that digital recordigs sound like shit and give me a head ache but as for analog it doesnt it is soft and warm so i only use 3 formats now : Vynil,Cassette, 8 Track.

oh and fm radio sometimes.

Yeah anytime there's new technology it always comes out at some ridiculous price - but gee whiz - $649 in 1984 - whoa! But I've got a mate who's tech mad and he bought an mp3 player years ago when they first started appearing and he paid about $700 for it - yep, he's a dickhead.

$649 for a CD Player!!! You can't buy CD players like that nowadays, the closest you can get is $49 for a DVD Player (which plays CD's, plus MP3, MP4, DIVX etc).
