  • Ihave just bought a panasonic hdc-sd700.. i upgraded from an hdc-sd10)..

the 700 has fantastic quality video, it is classed as pro-sumer and can shoot 1080p 50p pal (60p ntsc).. it has 2 mos sensors and is great in low light, has a mic input and a cold shoe.. if you want to save yourself all the research i did..just buy it..you will love it...£700 ish.. well worth it tho

  • Umm I have a question. I just wanna make vids on youtube with respectable camera quality. I had a GFM digital Camera/camcorder and the USB thing fell out.

It was very good in the dark--actually not at all good. Should I just get another one of those or get a better one Price range 50-60 dollars.

    Thanks, Check out my channel

    It shoots 1080p @ 30FPS and 720p @ 60FPS.

Its a cheap camera from Walgreens, and it was about $100.

It works great outdoors, but what kind of consumer camera should i get that has a

  • i have two of those and wasn't too impressed by it but my kids like them

  • dont use jvc!

  • what's bad bout jvc?

  • when will mega pixels max out??? i think where at around 14 MP's now 3 years ago we were around 6-7 maybe. this is bullshit. U know in some japanese lab there is a camera fully made that is like 30 mega pixels. but they will slowly bring pixels 1-2 at a time. to make more money. whats after digital camera's. 3-d image camera of course.

  • i have $500 to spend in a digital camera.

Wich one do you recomend me?

I like photography. I want to take pictures of nature, night shots, portraits, friends, etc.

  • i recommend u buy a dslr. its a perfect for your puspose. buy a lightest one so u can bring it with wherever u go. for your budget olympus e-420 with lens kit 14-42mm its suit you best. but before you decide to buy you have to test them first. this' general rules before you buy anything. good luck n happy shooting!

  • is the RCA EZ300 Small Wonder HD Digital Camcorder a decent camcorder to make high quality videos with decent picture? PLEASE COMMENT BACK!!

  • you could definatly get a higher quality one like the canon hv20 or hv30

but it really depends on your pricerange

  • I'm sorry I really don't have the money for that camcorder. I would definately get it though. What's the best camcorder you would recommend for someone who's budget is 200-250 bucks tops? Thanks in advance for the help

  • DXG -566V Camcorder

    google that

its between 100 and 150 dollars and it is supposed to be very high quality

  • Ok thanks I'm checking it out. Also, is the RCA EZ300 camcorder a good camcorder? I was looking at that.

  • its ok

all of the cameras that are usually square shape like that

    are known for low quality

so go for a traditional dv camcorder

  • Yup it's official. I'm getting the DXG -566 hd camcorder probably. Maybe the Flip Mino unless it's not that good. What have you heard about the Flip Mino?

  • i think you'll be getting the same quality outta both

    so either is good

  • ok thank you!! :)

  • would u please recommend me a camcorder?? i want a camera in the 300$ range. thats good 4 editing n youtube, and record 2 hours or more at one time. i am using it for basketball footage indoor n outdoor. would u please help me out n recommend something thank u

  • buy duh puple one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Disgruntled people could effect opinions of a camera.

Inexperienced but good meaning people could aos effect the opinions of people. So be careful of that too.

  • Click REPLY TO or send me a message. A pretty prominant videographer in the Dallas area told me not to buy a HDV camera because they were going to be quickly phased out. However somebody told me that was not the case at all. Has anybody heard anything about the uncertain future of HDV cameras? I have the money to buy a good camera in the 6K and under range, but I'd like to buy 2 good 3K or under cameras if I could. I was checking out the HDV cameras until that ONE guy told me that info.

  • JVC Everio hybrid GZ-MG13OU $350

Works awesome outside but the quaility inside kinda sucks and is very easy to upload to your computer.

  • coolpix is cool

  • Definately get a Panasonic GS320 It's a really great camers, it pretty much has all the featuers of a 5000 dollar camera, and super easy to use, but you may have to read the manual a few times.

  • Thanks for your recommendation on the Panasonic GS320. I just bought it and will let you know what I think. So far the rest of the internet loves it too. Not too bad either. Circuit city had it for $389 (in-store pickup + tax).

Thanks for helping me decide. I almost bought one that sucked!! LOL

  • I currently use the Sony DCR-SR42, and I like the hard drive, night mode is pretty cool, and I the 40X optical zoom (optical is the good zoom that doesn't loose quality when you use it)

Thank you for this video, Nalts, if I ever save up enough money, I will buy the Canon HV20, it looks like a great camera.

  • Thanks, really useful to those of us starting to think of doing this. Thanks to those who have left comments about their gear.

  • Sony DCR-SR42. Portable, massive hard drive space. Need to buy the larger battery pack. Only HQ video quality and interlaced (bad). No shoe on top of camera.

I plan to upgrade to HD shortly.

  • hv20, 653, best camera ever. hd 1080i

  • The towels tell the story. That's part of moving making.

  • Dude u r so effing lucky u have a pool. ( Why else would he have towels hanging over that fence...?)

  • maybe his kids were playing in the sprinkler

  • Canon HV20 is awesome. It is also come down in price to around $750 at Circuit City, and less online.

  • Would you recommend the HV20 to make professional short films for festivals? People say that the small size of it makes it a little more jumpy than other cameras when handheld. I am really thinking about getting one, but i'm nervous because of the price. Would to strongly recommend the HV20 for people who only have upwards of around $1,000 to spend on a camera? I hope it's the best I can get for a grand.

  • jvc everio hybrid GZ-MG13OU $350

  • My camera is a Panasonic PVGS85 I got it for about $ 269 Its takes great video the only thing i dont like about it is that you have to plug it into the wall inorder to plug it under usb.

  • mine's a JVC everio Hard Disk Drive it was marked at $599.99

but i got it for $323.22 because, it was open box, it was an old display camera, and i told him it was my birthday lol

  • Recently purchased an open box Sony DCR-SR42 at Circuit City. The original price was at 562$ and they had a 50% discount, minus 50$ for dropping it in front of me, equals a total of 199$.

Likes: video quality, relatively small file size, controls, comfort holding the camera, docking station, easy charging and download function, large storage capacity, the lcd. Oh, and I absolutely love that zoon. It makes all the difference.

Dislikes: no viewfinder, drivers, bad still pics.

  • Hey my Father works for Consumer Reports; Arcane; actually they test every item that goes into that magazine thoroughly and are hardly ever wrong; but then again the key word there is hardly; so Arcane isn't the word; it actually is understood by many people; it's made for the average joe; not the professional such as your self; so watch what you say;

  • panasonic pv-gs320 it has a 3ccd chip and great quality and picture great stills and wonderful color

  • panasonic pv-gs320 - see webvideodoctor com for mo info even though I haven't updated my blog in a looong time

  • Panasonic Palmcorder MiniDV Digital Camcorder

This is a great camera. just draws attention to its self

    and only 250

  • Just purchased a Sony DCR-HC38 camcorder the other day from Ritz Camera for $400. I wanted something with a powerful zoom and this has it--40x optical zoom/2000x digital zoom. Easy to use, very small--but will not take still photos ( not in instruction booklet. ) Has consistent good reviews everywhere, all-in-all worth the price.

  • Sony Handycam DCR-SR42, 600$, Awesome everything.

  • Canon ZR850 Paid $400 Canadian with leather case and extra battery. If you want to to a lot of editing don't go with a DVD cam, you're better off with miniDV. I don't like that you have to upload in realtime to the PC. Also, invest in a firewire connection. Almost sounds like I know what I am talking about, well, I don't so look it up. Life is like a digital camera, you never know when you're gonna get to see spricket24 slap nalts. I'm fans of both!

  • FIRST!

  • Samsung Digimax a6 I Paid $350 in 2004 I Still use It on all my Videos. Great Cam

  • yea my camera is a grade a piece of shit but still EVERYBODY GO CHECK OUT MY VIDEOS!

  • Just purchased the Sony Handycam DCR-HC48 for $339 and used it to make all of the videos I have up. I like it because it's easy to use, compact, the dockstation works perfectly with Vegas Import... the only negative aspect is that it doesn't work well in dark situations, so make sure you light your scene well enough. I got it from bhphotovideo dot com

  • were ever you are, looks lovely and peaceful,

  • I cant help but think your in front of a green screen

    the background looks too still

  • I have and use a Panasonic TZ1. It looks like a single shot camera, so when I walk around shooting in video mode my subjects think nothing is happening 'cause I don't have my finger on the shuttter button, net result is I get more relaxed interaction.

And lots of laughs after I show them the results!

  • Nice laundry hanging out -- though its probably your summer home (Remember your a 'Partner' now). I tried to by MGM's video camera on EBay, but the description said it was a gently used "Mathew B. Brady Camera of Civil War Vintage."

  • Sony DVR Handycam 150-300$, I hate it since its a dv cam so i got get software to put it on the computer, it doesnt have a usb or firewire port.

  • Canon ZR 850, $340-360, Apple Recomended!

  • Apple recommended is important to me. Thanks

  • Why spend $1000 on a digital camera, when you can spend just a few more dollars and get an actual VHS unit? Just think if you had a vhs you could sell your videos to the video stores, instead of putting them on YOUTUBE for free.

  • Last year I bought a Cannon Elura 85 DV. A Higher end cammcorder, lots of options, usb, firewire, audio inputs, digital still w sd memory card slot, nice viewfinder.....only drawback is a battery that runs out fast...but if you buy a nice quality backup battery this would be a great camera for any budding YouTubber, all for about 400 bucks!!! Recommended!

  • see Whit101 in video responses for see part of my 1st YouTube video. Bought a small JVC GZ-MG130 w/30GB Hard drive, $449 at WalMart or on the Web for around $380.

  • A great quality, portable camera is the flip video. Its about the size of a video iPod, and it has exellent quality. You can get the 30 minute version for 119.99, or the 60 minute version for 149.99. Anither great thing about it is that it has a usb connector (not a cable) built right in, and so is the software, all you do is plug it in. The only bad part is that it does not have a tripod, so theres not much of a place to put it when you are filming.

  • it would be better if you commented about a recording medium.

  • I bought a Fuji S700. It's fabulous and cheap at under $300 bucks! Great combo. It's a perfect picture every time. Takes outstanding pictures too.

  • dude im 14 and a job that pays 6 bucks an hour and i work 2 - 10 hours a day but i get payed on fridays any video cams under 500$ that are worth a damn on youtube?

  • you could get a webcam. i bought a logitech at staples for $89 and it works great. most of my videos were made with it through my laptop. if you want a portable cheap video cam, i bought a vivitar 5mb video camera from walmart for $114. it fits in your pocket.

  • Check craigslist for local private sellers. Cheaper than ebay and you can see the product when you exchange it for our hard earned cash.

  • "I'm Rodney Reynolds and this has been a video review."

  • I have the same camera as Nalts and it's (just) below $1000 now. I'm digging it...

  • I have the big big big brother to you guys' cameras... Canon XL1......I'm digging it......but i need 24p...

  • how come your vlogs dont get as many views as your... as you say: "candy corn" videos... geez...

  • He's starting to gain a lisp.

  • I don't know where you are but it looks like the perfect place to shoot a scary movie!!!

  • Thanks Kevin answered some questions for me :)

  • Wow.. i love the surroundings that you are in...

  • when are you going to start selling them?

  • Ahhhhhh! Where did willvideoforfood (dot) com go?!

  • Wow, that was fast. After I sent that last comment, the banner was re-linked the the wordpress url :p

  • Hey, those towels won't get dry, it's too muggy out.

  • hey nalts im just wondering how do you get so many views and how do you get so popular around youtube

  • Canon GL2, 3CCD--but it is a monster and there are pros and cons. Great advice on reading up online about all the pros and cons. Depends what YOU need your camera for. I have a wee Canon Elura 100 for pictures and small projects--but it stinks in low light.

  • panosic iS THE BEST

  • noo goatee noo!

  • Well the HV20 has to be the best on the market in the price range. That camera really does produce some stunning footage, i would probably feel bad just using it for youtube videos myself. I think its about time for Youtube HD.

  • I would settle for YouTube DVD. Ever down load one of these vids and watch it on a regular TV? Nasty.

  • My only tip would be to keep a small sized camera even if you upgrade to some wonderful 3CCD chip goddess. Keep the smaller one for more intimate filming, were a big ass Sony DCR-VX2100 type thing would be intrusive to the moment. Also two camera angles are always better than one. The one you use (from your brother) looks wonderful by the way. Heck, keep that...

  • anything cannon

  • thanx for the camera advise i need one. Dude im glad u kept the goatee.

  • I recommend Canon or Sony on Digital Video Cameras, and my friend recently bought the JVC 30GB HD Digital Video Camera from $300 - $600 and he is really happy with that one so there you go :D

  • GOOD NEWS? I've got a JVC GZ-MG36EK *30GB HD* (ha ha!!) wide-screen camera which I love!! You can view chapters of your filming through thumbnails listed on the fold-out wide-screen! It's easily to use, produces high quality results and looks sharp. BAD NEWS? This cost £450 (about $900!), altho I've seen 'em for nearer £400. GOOD NEWS? Santa bought it for me! BAD NEWS? It's underused and I've STILL not posted anything on YouTube!!! ...."Cheers"!

  • $1000 camera?!! From BrotherofNalts?! A priest?!!

...I'm in the wrong job? Think I'm gonna become a nun!!!

  • Ah, but women always make less. Become a bishop. :)

  • Oh, why is society a lickle bit sexist like that?!!

As for the bishop bit ...think I'll go all the way and become Pope!!! ;oD

  • 51st comment.. lol

  • And it's your disclosure of such sponsorships that is a large part of selling out with class. Add a little bit of humor in, and then some mysterious nalts factor, and suddenly I'm no longer angry that companies are buying you in order to get me to buy their products...

  • looks foggy out...

  • haha weird i'm looking for a new camera this video help alot thanks =D

  • nalts sucks!!!!!!!!! go die nalts

  • Yeah Nalts, put your head in a man-eating toy :-)))

  • ...the value of this comment being?! Can't believe I just wasted 20 secs of my life replying to negative rubbish like this.

  • And then there's the time we all waste re-reading our own comments after we post. That's a good 5 seconds. :)

  • omg i am so glad i do not do videos! my head is so spinning after watching this vid nalts, you no i cant even up load a photo of myself, i am a dummy lol

  • My Digital Camera can only record like 5 minutes of video on the memory card and drains the battery quickly(Have a battery recharger that comes with it though.). Pretty nifty and small though. It's not like I use the camera for anything other than hunting for skyfish though....

  • Loving all the varations of your theme music. and i think this is your first vid with no edits....wow!!

  • What's the conversion rate in to Australian dollars?

  • sorry, i made a mistake in that commnt, i meant "if you want that 20th kid"

  • and also i am LeftNutOfNalts so if 20th kid i suggest you do what i say, lol, oj

  • I have a Canon ZR-500. I have no complaints. I wish I would have spent a few more bucks and got a slightly better model, but I was being cheap. Nice composition on the video Nalts. The fences Focus attention on the main subject-must remember that.

  • Have you had it for over a year. sadiedammit said hers broke before a year.

  • My camera is a Samsung VP-L900 and i love it but i cant use it to make videos for you-tube as its a Hi8 video camera and i cant convert it on to my pc, it cost £250 or about $400 i think, i dont know how currency works, if anyone knows a way to convert Hi8 video to a pc then let me know

  • Dazzle should be able to work for that.

  • The old Panasonic?

  • yeh, can i buy it, that would be so cool, to start making videos with CameraOfNalts, see, i came up with that, i am the most creative, i am the chosen one who should get to buy the camera, lol.

  • "Most creative" ??? Nalts, which do YOU think is better FTGT's CameraofNalts above or my $900ofNalts (wink). j/k

  • Just bought my new camera, SonyHandycam DCR-SR52 HDD

  • Sanasonic VDR D100... What I like: it records onto DVD... What I hate: time consuming to convert to movie files...

  • I've got a Fuji FinePix F31fd - fantastic stills & video for the size & price. With a 2 gig card cost £180 from Amazon - 1 hour vid + sound, great for YT.. battery life brilliant! used on all my stuff.

  • Thanks...

  • the cannon gl2 is very nice..still sort of small but doesnt look huge..

  • yeahhhh! this was very interesting- i like serious nalts to surface every now and again. great video

  • Casio EX-Z1000, It's a still camera but it has very good video quality. It costs around £300 which is about $600 I think. It only gives you 10 minute clips though.

  • if you go to circuit city, purchase the camera online because i saved almost a 100.00 dollars on a camera at circuitcity. com. so if you go to circuit city to buy a camera, go on circuitcity. com to buy it.

  • are you saying go to curcuitcity. com if i go to curcuit city to purchase a camera? or are you saying if i want to buy a camera at curcuit city ,goto curcuitcity. com?

  • Thanks great vid. We are on the market. We'll keep checking everyone's comments.

  • Canon Elura. I researched every single bit of what it can do for the price range versus other models. It's rated in the top 3 of several consumer reporting agencies. $349

  • panisonic...i have 499$

  • I am looking for a new camera, so this will definitely help me. I've been reading a lot of reviews, but I haven't decided what I want yet.

  • Samsung S850 digital Camera. <$200 As a camera, 8.1 megapixel camera with 5 digital zoom. As a video camera, shoots 640 x 480 @ 15 / 20 / 30fps and 800 x 592 @ 15 / 20fps in MPEG-4 format. Takes 2 'AA' size or ove CV3 battery, to it's easy to find batteries in a pinch. Also has a lot of good camera features. For those with a tight budget, an excellent camera

  • I don't even have an HDTV, but I think it may be time for an HD camera. If I shoot anything, it's cause I'll wanna watch it years later, and at that time, all TVs will be HD, I'd hate to watch SD video of, say, my kids when they were still babies.

  • informative.... arent you so varied? lol

  • Thanks Nalts, very informative!

  • Mine is a Canon Optura 30. It's a mini-dv that supports either 4:3 or widescreen. Has good zoom and auto stabilization. It's a couple of models old, but in that price range. It's also very good in low light. My next one will probably hd based, tape is so yesterday. I got it used on Ebay. Buy from anywhere but if you find a super cheap new model of any video camera beware of gray market resale. You'll get no warranty, all the literature and controls may be in another language.

  • oh my I wish I could afford a camera. Maybe someday I really want to make videos. :)

  • I feel your pain - can't really spend the money for a camera right now. Too many other expenses.

  • And I don't think I'll be looking in the $1000 range. That used to be a down payment on a car! (Have not bought one in a while - not sure if that is still true.)

  • good idear.

  • Don't have one yet but I like (not sure on the model) a Sony that is in the 600 dollar range.

Youuu have a really nice brother. :)

Glad to see I'm not going nuts...this just came up on my subscriptions about 15 minutes ago.

  • Did you say "going nuts" or "going nalts"?

  • um im 100th! (actually i just made that up idk)

  • how come there are like only 81 views for this video compared to the other ones?

  • It got stuck on private

  • The Private Pirate strikes again! grr...

  • I didn't even see this video on my list 24 hours ago???

  • what number am I?

  • cannon powershot SD750 fathers day present

  • comment, 11..

Thanks! This actually helped (Although I never asked), but I'll be looking in the $1,000 range. as for now, I just use my P&S still with video feature.
