It will be difficult getting funding for this sort of project now with all the major budget cuts.
Newquay station is appallingly run down and doesn't meet the needs of a growing town with a populaton of 20,000 which trebles in the holiday season i don't know why it was run down in the first place it was very bad business practice.
Great vision and at last some inspiration for Newquay and Cornwalls railway. Option C is preferable. Passenger increase and Steam and Diesel charters would put Newquay up there with Minehead. There is a turntable at St Blazey, Steam centre with Bodmin railway ? another rail project waiting to happen A passing loop long enough for two HSTs to travel the line in opposite directions at around half way between Newquay /Par. Direct Falmouth branch service? Network Rail,County Council over to you.
Hi thanks for your comments, good news since this video was made we have got Network Rail, FGW, County, Immery's (eco town) and the RDA to have a high level meeting. All I can say is watch this space and alot of what you mention may happen not withing 20 years but within two. thanks again for the comment.
Since your comment FGW have suggested that to solve many of our problems would be a direct link between Newquay and Falmouth. So hopefully this might be a reality in the not to distant future
Cornwall seems to have forgotten its railway heritage. Newquay didn't really exist beofre the railway. Sad to see it looking so run down - nice concept

what great ideas! but really option a is the best as you only get hst's which can go to platform 2, and voyagers and 153s/158s can go to platform 1
