My best friend is playing this concerto in our local youth orchestra program in the top group, She's in 7th grade and the whole orchestra is mainly made up of high schoolers, except for me, her, and a couple of our other friends.
can anyone please tell me how to play the part at 5:37 ? my violin teacher told me to use flat hair and accent the note on the G String but i just can't get it! please help...thank you(: (bouncing the bow is one of my weak points on violin :( )
@jiwoojaneh99 The key is to move your bow very quickly between strings. Using the G string as a sort of starting point, use the weight of your arm to quickly bring the bow across the strings. Remember, never use pressure on the bow, only weight. It will feel like you're moving your arm through the elbow and upper arm. Keep your wrist loose but not wobbly.
I don't get anything from after 9:12 :P but it's really nice. thanks for posting, because it's one of the few that has an orchestra with it, rather than a piano.
playing it in an orchestra as 1st violin and trying to play the part you hear silently in 9:11....just sick :D it seems like almost noone plays it even in this record...
This is so beautiful! I'm definitely in love in Perlman's playing! He's #1!!!
