I found mine up around Auroras Basin. Its a dangerous place to tame horses, so i had to drag it out to Manzinata Post.

Breaking the Kentucky Saddler, Hungarian Half-back,or the American Standardbred allows their deed to be bought at general stores but they wont necesarily be yours unless you buy or hitch it after breaking

Finally found the horse... I spotted it then a jaguar came out of nowhere and raped my horse and the American Standardbred got away...

is it enough to just catch it or I have to do anything more?

@computerguard I haven't played the game in a long time but I think once you've caught & broke the horse you have to go to a town and hitch it to a post and it then becomes your main one. I think for some of the slower horses you can just go to a store and buy the deed.

@JakeT111x If you've caught the standerdbred you can then buy the deed. Also deeds can do many things. If your horse gets killed you can use the deed to replace it with a identicle one.

It seems that you can find the horse in the great plains at night time, just also found it . At about the same place, same time.

The Red Dead Wiki says the American Standardbred is the best horse in the game. Its the fastest and if you press X or A to gallop in a beat of about every second, you will not actually use up any stamina, thus giving you an infinite supply, making the larger stamina of the other two horses a useless perk.

@westsidegolden dont even have to break a kentucky saddler when you break the stallion at the beginning(KS) you can buy a deed at stores to get unlimited horses of that horse

@wesleysidney you have to keep doing missions and then you'll be told by someone that the bridge will be built and then you go there for your first mission in black water.
