  • I wanted the greeks to win in this movie after Hector did that totally violated the rules of war.

  • And I'm always impressed how good eyes they must have here to see whats going on.

  • I always laugh at Agamemnons laugh and that "ehmmmmmm" from Menelaus. :D

  • Damn it I always laugh so hard while watching this scene hahaha :D

  • where can i find the fight scene that came after this?

  • Aside from the fight scenes, this is such a poorly crafted movie. I think Agamemnon's laugh says it all.

  • learn history first and speak later about Achilles and Patroclus you idiot

  • wait, what...? Menelaus was suppose to... where's Aphrodite? I'm... I don't even...

  • @jokstaboi

The gods aren't in this movie. I think this is how it would have been in the real life.

There is no Aphrodite to "transport him. And Menelaus just won't give up. => they killed him here and I like the film version better than the Helen and Menelaus restoration from the books. And I don't see Helen cry that often.

  • @2nadalfederer1 I know. I prefer the epic; people died when they shouldn't have in this movie. If this was suppose to be how it was in real life, then Menelaus should have ended the war here and now, without Aphrodite saving him. They still honor pride and respect, so Paris would have died.

  • Respond to this video... saving Paris*

  • HERP HECTOR KILLING MENELAUS AND AJAX AND EVERY HEROIC MYCENAEAN GREEK AND HIS DOG

  • @DaNewLeder Yeah agreed :P

  • @Tibly3568 okayokayokay wotever -.-

  • 5:37 - "....TO WAAAAAAAARRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!11111111111111"

  • they just had to make menelaus ugly too...

  • paris is such a trap

  • WOLFGANG PETERSEN

  • hector is the best

  • Who hasn't seen this in school

  • is that mador moody from harry potter!

  • WTF what a gay guy! Plus his name is Paris? LOL!

  • @koo11414 Being gay isn't a bad thing you retard. Did you know the real Achilles from the Iliad was actually gay with Patrocles? If you think Paris is a coward than I agree. He clearly isn't gay since he's fucking Helen, the sexiest female alive at that time.

  • @koo11414

Yes his name is Paris. This movie is inspired by a legend thats why.And this is the role it's not gay but you maybe.

  • @WhatTheHell396 Lol...yeah. xD

  • paris is a wuss!

  • MENELAUS YEAH!!

    PARIS SUCK!!

  • Should've let Will Turner fight him....

  • Paris is a miserable, 130 pound, pussy. A poor excuse for a warrior.

  • @TheSuperEntertainer technically he is not a warrior.....hes an archer lol

  • @WhatTheHell396 Yes, Menalaus was the king of Sparta. Hector did not kill him in the Iliad. In fact, Menalaus gets Helen back and surivives all of them.

  • @dannyz4 yeah i was like seriously? fuck paris.

  • Agaememnon=epic laugh,hahahahaha!

  • @Sevv921 soo true :D

  • FUCK PARIS IS SUCH A LITTLE BITCH!

  • Why they send that little boy to fight a grown ass man? They should've sent Hector.

    He's more experienced.

  • @JRock005 That "little boy" is a prince and the main guilty for the war. When he took another man's wife wasn't he a man? Now, let him fight! :)

Also, he was the one who challenged Menelaus, it was not the Trojans who chose who would fight.

  • This film taught us that pussy is the source of trouble of the world.

  • @ivanoschen not at all.. it is the lust for pussy..

  • Prince Paris looked up, and thought: Yeah, I see the crows...

  • paris is the most annoying character in this movie. Fucking selfish bastard, the only thing I hated about this movie is how achilles dies from a fucking dumb ass who can't even fight.

  • Paris just pisses me off in this movie...fucking pussy, everything's his fault.

  • @samooraz paris has no penis....

  • @samooraz Oh stop i couldnt agree more!!! And then he goes and kills Achillies while his back is turned!!! He isnt worthy to lick Achilies' shit!!! Fucking pussy and a half running to hide behind his brother who he ends up getting killed just cuz Paris wanted to stick his dick into another mans wife!! And Helen and Paris have a happy ending!!!!! WFT!!!....... (whooo sorry about my little rant but he annoys me so much! xD)

  • I hate Paris the miserable coward wretch.

  • dude Legolas is a pretty bad actor xD just saying =P

  • 3:20 lol

  • Idiot should have listened to his brother and kept moving until Menelaus tired.

  • at 5:13 that must have hurt soo bad.

  • Even though Paris looks really scared in fighting...HE'S STILL FREAKIN" HANDSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :"> ♥♥♥

  • helen-does anybody else believe that she was the most beutifull women in the world at that time

  • Excellent movie except for the ending. I mean I know how history turns out but come on. Why bother highlighting Achilles' utter hatred for Agamemnon when your not going to have him kill him? And why does Paris have to kill Achilles? HIstory is so unfair...Achilles should've killed Agamemnon defending Briseues (am I spelling that right?) and survived the war to return home and be proclaimed the greatest warrior to ever live. But no, history provides no satisfying end material.

  • @magicman13 This was not history. It was a MYTH , writen in book by Hommer call Illiad. ( My spelling is shit ) :)

  • @FrenkieWilde No one really knows if the story told in the Iliad and other works about the Trojan war are only myths. The Ruins of Troy were found dating back to the bronze age were the war supposedly took place, and have you ever heard of the Tawagalawa letter?is from a Hittie king to to a king of Ahhiyawa around 1250 BC.Ahhiyawa is believed to be another word for Achaeans,or Greeks. It talks about Wilusa (troy) and it says "Now as we have come to an agreement on Wilusa over which we went to war"

  • @Reznov29 Troy is still not found. Yes many historians say they did found it,but still nothing there says that that place is Troy. They all say that it was somewhere in Asian-Turkey but still no evidence was found of Troy dad still exist. :)

  • @magicman13 The greatness of Achilles is that he chooses a short life and a quick death to become glorious and be remembered by each generation. The other choice was a long, rich and happy family life followed by non-remembrance. Do you understand this? Kleos (κλέος) is his motive and he is essentially sacrificing his life for it; that's why he is a hero.

What you said about Achilles killing Agamemnon and surviving are a 100% naive love film script, Homer's greatness is so much above it.

  • @magicman13 this movie doesn't tell the story how it is told by many works such as the Iliad and the Odyssey, Menelaus doesn't get killed by Hector,he returns to Sparta with Helen and in the Odyssey Helen admits that she was enchanted by Aphrodite to love Paris,Agamemnon returns to Mycenae but gets killed by his wife, Helen's sister.Ajax doesn't get killed by Hector, but commits suicide, Priam gets killed by Achilles son, Paris gets shot with a poisonous arrow and dies, etc. This movie is wrong.

  • Plastic helmet? 1:52-1:54

  • wuteva

  • no...but i have seen Thomas with out a shirt....OOLA-LA!!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • yeah but have you seen Balian without a shirt? WOW!!!!!

  • Paris sucks....Balian could have totally won the fight

  • @ErinThackery totally sis Balian is awesome!!...but paris so pretty..:(......sigh ..decisions..decisions...

  • Paris a bitch

  • If anything is 'historically incorrect', then it would be that Paris didn't die in the end. In the stories, Paris was killed by Philoctetes with a poisoned arrow. Phil (remember him from Disney Hercules, the satyr?) was angry that Paris had killed Achilles

  • @19lemons93 That's true, except for the satyre-thing. Or it was a joke? Philoctetes was a hero/lord, but the other Greeks had left him in Lemnos, an island near Troy, because he was beaten by a snake and he couldn't be healed. Later, after Achilles' death, it was prophesized that Philoctetes was necessary to take Troy; the Achaeans brought him back, he was healed (with gods' help) and he killed Paris as you said, with Hercules' bow arrows.

  • he says Menelaus wrong, he says "don't let Menalawus hurt her" LOL.

  • @Opiemate You said Paris said Menelaus wrong. The name is Greek. Perhaps that is how it is pronounced. There are names like Hermes, where '-es' sounds like ease. But hey, I'm probably wrong...

  • @19lemons93 As I hear it, he says MenelaOs and not MenelaUs. That's closer to the greek pronunciation of the name (Μενέλαος, with O, not U), but still it's not greek. The stress should have been to the syllabe -NE- (meNElaos) and not the syllabe -LA- (meneLAos). Since all the other names are pronunced in english, I don't think it's deliberate.

  • @Lhein33 Wow you know your Greek. And yes, i know Philoctetes wasn't really a satyre. He just was in that Disney movie *shrug* Well, maybe Orlando just couldn't say the name properly. Cheers ;)

  • 3:19 - 3:23 !! Best laugh EVER!!!

  • Fight him, son...fight him...

    cracking me uppp:)

  • Once again Hector comes to Paris rescue

  • what part of "rope-a-dope" do you not understand Paris?

  • is it just me or is gas leaking from 3:20 to 3:24?

  • The though of that slime-ball defeating Achilles lol

  • Paris is a bitch

  • I cant help but think of my older sister in this scene (shes 23, im 14) and knowing what Hactor must be feeling when he says through gritted teeth "He is my Brother!" he then throws away his honor to save his brother.

  • Menelaus was Bravehearts right hand man.... of course he's bad ass!

  • Menelaus is a scary man...I think we can all say we would have been dominated in a sword fight like Paris did....I probably wouldn't run away though (depends ho enraged I would be, but if someone was beating the shit out of me and mocking me I would be pretty pissed).

  • "IS THIS...WHAT U LEFT ME FOOOOOR???!!!" Love that line

  • Are you sure it was Paris of Troy? seemed more like Paris Hilton fighting haha

  • @xDdraigCymraeg Yes they were Brian Cox I believe played Argyle Wallace (William Wallace's uncle) and Brendan Gleeson play hamish Campbell (William's best friend from childhood).

  • Mad eye moody is badass he's like "fuck this shield!!"

  • orlando bloom plays a very convincing pussy.. makes you wonder

  • I accept your challenge, and to tonight I'll drink to your bones.

  • Should've let Legolas fight him instead or Paris :)

  • @SerGaToKaR You don't think the death of an Achaean king is a pretty big historical fuck-up?

  • @SerGaToKaR lol yeah, noticed how Paris didn't do as good with a sword as he did with a bow when he shot Achilles in the heel?

  • @Jayli0 Legolas was amazing with the white knives though. Maybe Paris needed them instead of the longsword.

  • @SerGaToKaR or Balian from Kingdom of Heaven he would have beaten Menelaus hands down

  • @SerGaToKaR But with Gimpli could be funnier

  • Gimli^^ :P

  • Brendan Gleeson and Brian Cox are just great actors!!! Were they not in Braveheart, too?

  • @Guitareroguy the fights are extended and the part when helen undresses herself in uncensored.

  • paris is a little faggot. should have died with honour

  • Trojan pussies.

  • I've watched the few seconds where Hectors stabs Menelaus more times than I'd care to admit. It's just such a smooth move!

  • I mean the best part is when the guy laugh at 3:20 , listen to that... Hahah amazing funny

  • "He is my brother". Stab......

  • Comment removed

  • what happened to my legolas??

  • how is it that, that pussy kills the mighty achiles if he walks away from a battle.........

  • @hewhodrums he is smart.. and youses a bow hehe

  • @luftim .......lmao....... but it kind of made it seem stupid that a coward would kill achiles at least someone more worthy than

  • @hewhodrums i understand.. hehe.. but you get my point

  • @luftim yeah............. whatever whats done is done X)

  • hector is the man!

  • Hector did what any another normal brother would do, Paris was just the coward

  • wow thats not even close to what really happened

  • 1:50 come to papa

  • So please....SHUT.The.Fuck.UP!! About these "historical" inaccuracys and I can´t be more sarcastic with those quotationmarks. It´s a film.Called Troy.In the beginning of the movie it says,in writing,INSPIRED BY THE ILLIAD....inspired by. Not a reanactment from the live footage taken during these....10 years. So googler, greek or reader flaunting knowledge...shutting the fuck up and just enjoying Menelaus kick Paris ass? Good? Oh...i just read something.Menelaus doesnt die in the book.Did U know?

  • @Sumumabitch78 well i think the movie was ok but it´s a lil bit annoying how it treated some main characters from the Iliad. "historic" or not, if you read the Iliad you wonder, why did they change these things? ppl who live in the Iliad die in the movie, and ppl who die in the Iliad survive in the movie. it doesn´t even make sense, i think the Iliad is way better & more realistic from the dramatic POV that the movie. of course, except of the Gods: i agree, it´s better to leave them aside.

  • @harpiyon I guess you prefer the book,To say the Illiad is better then Troy is like comparing strawberrys to cocaine, different forms of art.And to exclude the gods who decide half the plot n prefer I. is a contradiction.More realistic? The gods are in it.Achilles n his men dance around Hectors corpse and mutilates n stabs it for 12 days but Zeus heals the wounds.Athena comes flying to save Paris etc. Both Hector n Achilles had bigger flaws then here, which I miss and the ending sucks...

  • @harpiyon And we have 2 remember what the movie is called. And that it says INSPIRED BY...that´s why you feel certain fates of certain characters don´t make sense. But u have to remember the gods part in many fates..n that we would have to wait until Troy burned n Agamemnon went back to Mycene if we want to see him die for instance. It was a bold, cocky screenplay,I do understand the criticism in many places. If its gonna make sense at the same time as there are no gods who decide who lives...tricky

  • @Sumumabitch78 i agree, the movie is only inspired... i think W. Petersen wanted to show how it could have really been (IF the persons in the Iliad really lived, which we will probably never know). We know, however, that Troy existed, it was found by Heinrich Schlieman: he only knew the legends but he believed so much in them that he started looking for Troy until he really found its ruins.

but even if it is only INSPIRED: some of the plot changes to the books don´t really make sense...

  • @Sumumabitch78 some chages don´t even make sense from dramatic / suspemse POV: ok Agamemnon, in the Iliad he´s killed by his wife Clytemnetsra after returning home; in the movie he´s killed by Briseis. in both versions, the King of Kings is killed by a woman whom he treated badly: i can live with that.

but some other changes are annoying: Hector killing Menelaus? Hector killing Ajax? Paris surviving the war & the sack of Troy? Helen staying together with him? wtf... here i favour the books

  • @Sumumabitch78 i don´t want to be a nagging, complaining little bastard, but to be honest i wish the movie had less "typical Hollywood" and would stick more to the books (even if it´s only INSPIRED - cos that´s no contradiction).

    1. Paris surviving: he´s played by Orlando Moore - seeing him die would break the female audience´s hearts

    2. Menelaos dying: a) he´s an ugly motherfucker (in the movie); b) showing Hector´s love for his lil bro Paris

    3. Ajax dying: showing Hector´s skill in battle

  • @Sumumabitch78 you see: in total, i prefer the books regarding plot & dramatic structure. some changes in the movie don´t make sense at all, on the contrary they make it less dramatic / suspenseful.

but we can´t change it any more can we. the movie is ok, i just say they could´ve made it even better i.e. closer to the Iliad, and without additional costs: keeping Paris (O. Moore) for the whole movie was surely more expensive than keeping the actors of Menelaus & Ajax ;)

  • When u say historical mistakes, its a contradiction in itself, since you both go"Menelaus didnt die" and"Athena came flying n saved Paris, this is bullshit!"Dat the trojan war happened is 1 thing, exact details anotha.I like this Menelaus who WOULD kill her n doesnt turn into a pussy when he sees the whore naked.Prefer Hector not panicing n that we get the duel.Prefer H not fighting Ajax for a whole day without either dying.Achilles not knowing Patroclus took his armour.Gods not intervening.Better.

  • It´s only a shame that Menelaus dies cause Gleeson does a great job playing him and cause he didn´t deserve it....not cause of fucking Homer.Youre then implying you would want a faithful adaptation, which if made, probably would of become the silliest movie ever made.Since these....historical mistakes clearly bothers you. Am I gonna be the first to say it?Fine. This STORY´s more intriguing then its origin..the destiny of the characters are in their own hands, free will determines their fates.

  • Menelaus could've killed Paris @ 3:10

  • 3:20 best laugh in movies ever!

  • OH COME ON MENELAUS DIES!!!

If Homer was alive he would kill the producer of the movie

  • Menelaus shouldnt have died, that was a huge historical mistake in the film, particulary if they ever wanted to make the sequal, the Odyssey since Troy was somewhat based on the Iliad, they essentially killed off a needed character. Its like killing off Little Johhn in a prequal to Robin Hood

  • if only he was legalous

  • Menelaus is one manly guy.

  • There was actually more Prince siblings in the story of Troy, but this was only based Paris and Hector. Hector was my favorite character in the film!

  • You know when you watch something and you're actually embarrassed for them...? Yeah, that's how I feel now.

  • why does everyone hate paris I think the guys awsome!

  • @langokicks cuz he has a cute face* but, can't swing a sword to save his life, fights like a bitch he got innocent people killed for bringing that hoe helen to Troy, got his dad and brother killed.. umm ... so yeah..

  • @langokicks His arrogance, foolheartedness, and overall lack of honor brought his own city to its knees. Enough said.

  • hector looks like aragorn from lord of the rings

  • LOL Paris.. u gay little bunny... your cunt would've been slaughtered so BRUTAL if Y0U didn't run away..... PUSSY [!].. I can't believe a frail bitch like him was able to kill Achillies.. -______- then again it was by the will of the gods or by LUCK that achillies death taked place

  • One knew his side was in the wrong but his loyalty gave him no choice but 2 fight. The other showed kindness, wanting peace and as a thanks, became the laughingstock of an entire world.M loved pussy but he WAS a man of honor. When it becomes clear that his brother never gave a shit about his wife or honor(A conflict that should´ve been developed.Troy could been so much better if we got closer to Gleesons Menelaus)he agrees to something dishonorable but only cause it was his ONLY way to get revenge

  • Hector understood and respected Menelaus. Both when Menelaus delivers the"What son of a prince "speech and when Menelaus practically begsParis to fight him and says"This is not honor...this in not worthy of royalty"You can see the shame in Hectors eyes and he clearly agrees. He didn´t plan or want to kill Menelaus,he reacted on instinct, made a decision which he had about 0.4 seconds to think about. These two are the real victims in this...MOVIE.

  • Menelaus didnt die in the book. D:<

  • @Thongger Yea this movie is full of historical mistakes. In reality their fight was a tie. They fought all day and when night came they were so tired and injured that they stopped.

  • @sikiotis9 Historical mistakes? What are you saying,in reality?? There are no historical mistakes here, the movie is inspired by the illiad..MYTH,first of,not based on,then Menelaus wouldve lived to the end....and do you mean in "reality"Aphrodite came flying and saved Paris?Ok... historical mistakes,Jesus....

  • @Sumumabitch78 The Trojan war was real ok?Homer wrote the book based on that war.i didnt say the book is real but all the heroes and many of the facts described on the book are.Learn some history and after we talk.

  • @sikiotis9 The Trojan War was very real but that does not mean the Iliad is. The Iliad is a myth, it involves gods and mortal sons of gods which is in itself proof enough that it is mythological in nature. That being said the film is full of innacuracies when compared to the work of literature it was supposed to be based on but those are not historical mistakes - we have no historical info on the matter. Oh and according to Homer Menelaus easily bested Paris who was saved by Aphrodite.

  • @Sumumabitch78 this movie spits on the Iliad and the Aeneid.

  • @sikiotis9 You are thinking of when Hector fought Ajax. They were the ones that fought all day and had to call it a tie at the end. Paris got his ass kicked Menelaus lol

  • Normally one could now flout and mock the Americans for being unable to transfer at least a small glimpse of the epic beauty, power and depth of the Iliad (and its poet Homer of course); but than again: A German director did create this movie and not just a German director like that Roland something coxcomb, who indulges in making stupid movies appealing to the Americans; but Wolfgang Peterson had once directed Das Boot, which is the best submarine warfare movie so far!

  • HAHAHHAa paris...you're actually like worse than a bunny. you should be frolicking in my front yard, not on a battlefield.

  • Wow, I just finished reading the Iliad! Troy should be pretty awesome!

    *watches up to here*

    Did Menelaus just die?

    What the fuck.

  • I'll drink to your bones.

  • LAUGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHTER!!!!!

  • 4:25 weak........... O_O

  • Paris is not worthy of royalty.

  • In the book mighty Aphrodite teleports Paris away to his bedroom.

  • @maths23 yeah, I did. they talk differently in the book

  • I hated Orlando bloom in this movie. Paris is such a douche. He started the dang war and got his hot brother killed.

    DAMN YOU, PARIS!

  • the one who runs takes helen home....

  • OMG What a CHEATER!

  • Love does not vanish because Paris is an embarrassment, would you watch your brother die at your feet if you could stop it! No i would hope not.

  • @corneliagirl101 pfftt. I should vanish. What kinda woman could stay with a COWARD. Don't you think it would have been better for Paris to die for his love? His cowardice did nothing to stop the breach and invasion. Menelaus is the victim here. Women and their notions of 'romance' pfft.

  • @GFMarshallx1 my comment had nothing to do with romance? i said Hectors LOVE for his BROTHER didnt vanish because he is an embarrassment? So i really know what your comment has to do with mine. Peoples opinions are there own, you have points but it doesnt mean someone elses are any less important.

  • @corneliagirl101 My mistake, there, something you rarely see on Youtube. But that means that Hector is now complicit in not only the dishonor, but the loss of face!

  • 5:34 Achilles : Dont make me come down there motherfuckers

  • I've never been more embarassed....Paris is possibly the worst fighter ever...I bet Hector's baby would have done more damage to Menelaus than Paris did....

  • Paris has been killed by Filoktet (great bowman, he used Heracles's great bow), new king of Thessaly. Prophecy said that Troy can't be taken without Neptolemos and Filoktet. So Neptolemos went to Lemmos isle for Filoktet and then he shot Paris :)

  • Also Neptolemos, son of Achilles was very brave, He came to that war in the last year (Troyan war took 10 years) cause gods told that Troy couldn't be taken without Neptolemos. Neptolemos was a great fighter, but a really bad guy, he fought in berserk, killed many people (he killed Priam, king of Troy, and raped Kassandra, one of Athenas priestess). But I think that Ajax was the best one. You should see movie "The Warriors" watch?v=MV4cgs-bPic , there is Ajax also :)

  • Menelaus got balls, also Hector was mercyfull and fair, also good warrior but that bastard Paris and Agamennon

  • Is it me or does Agamemnon look a bit like Fidel Castro?

  • Comment removed

  • Begginer vs amature

  • then every son of TROY shall die

  • In Illady Menelaos don't die, same as Agamemnon. Paris wasn't brave, he should die in this movie in fight with Menelaos. Paris is a pussy, without honour. Same as his brother, Hector in this fight.

  • @TomrashtheSilesian was hector also pussy like pais in illady ? if its like that i didnt know that also ı think ajax was more effective warrior in illady than movie

  • @MrDts1907

not such big as his brother, Paris. Sometimes (With Athena) he was very brave. Anyway he was one of 2 greatest soldiers in Troyan army. Ajax was one of 2 greatest Greek warriors, second after Achilles (but you have to remember that Achilles was so great because he was immortal - he was son of goddess).

  • @TomrashtheSilesian Listen you fuckhead, Achilles was not immortal..

  • @Mordor6121512

go fuck your own mother, who told he was? He was ALMOST immortal! Paris killed him only with Apollos help so get the fuck outa here

  • @TomrashtheSilesian The Illiad never mentioned Achilles being an immortal.. His immortal status was only mentioned in the Achelleid which was written way after The Illiad

  • @Mordor6121512

he was a demigod (half god half man) cuz his mom was Thetis, the sea nymph.

  • @TheBrothaIz Ajax was the grandson of Zeus that doesn't necessarily make him a demi-god.. And a nymph is different from a god so once again, Achilles was not a demi-god
