So, they are pretty close in concept & airdate, but Chucky was released as an idea before Slappy, yet the Bride concept for Slappy came out before Chucky's did.

Bride of Chucky came out in 1998, and so did Bride of The Living Dummy. But, Bride of the Living Dummy came out while Bride of Chucky was being filmed. So its not really stealing. Cuz RL Stine didnt know that they were filming another Chucky movie.

@mematt665: Actually, Chucky existed first in the 80s Child's Play saga, but the idea of him having a family was taken from the concept of the Bride of the Living Dummy idea, because though the original Living Dummy trilogy was made in the 90s, the particular book about Slappy having a family with Mary Ellen--and the subsequent TV episode based on the story--were made in 2000, whereas Bride of Chucky (as well as Seed of Chucky) were made in the mid-2000s.

Bride of the living dummy book was written in the 2000's and the movie was made after the book. I think they got the idea from Bride of Chucky, the fight seen and stuff.
