yes! he tried his hand at singing too. also, he also sings 'straight' in 'night of the hunter', arguable his best film. he had a very good voice. enjoy!

yes. He was filming a movie in Trinidad and fell in love with the music. He tried to get some of the local talent signed but the labels wouldn't sign them. He immersed himself in the dialectic and learned the rhythms to promote them in an accurate way.
