  • Sounds like you are using the wrong needle.

  • I love it. You have a different record than I. Mine's a black label Decca. Thanks for the upload. It's cool to see a different form of the record.

  • Thanks, I love the scratches. Great disc wish I had one. I keep looking.

  • New turntables are provided with the usual connectors PLUS an USB connector so you can download the music to your PC's hard drive. ION turntables even include a Software CD so you can clean up the music before you burn it onto a CD.

  • snap crackle and pop-but its original and probably what most people back then would have thought was normal! thanks

  • Favoite song in MAFIA II

  • i love this song

  • This song is about prostitution however civilization is not you egolitistic people. (I don't really have a good comeback)

  • Thank you for that.*****.

  • what an interesting looking record player! I use a new system which is designed to look old and plays records of all speeds/CDs/radio and even tape! I have an old wind up 30s/40s original 78 player as well. Records are so much better than CDs. Life has lost so much fun in these recent years!

  • @MrClassicDoctorWho

Got a similar player. In fact two as of tonight. The phonographs on these use rather weak motors and poor belts that drive the record table. Wow and flutter are quite serious problems, but usually can be adjusted. The older phonographs are better in playing the records, which I say, like you, do sound better than CDs. Not because they are any more superior, but their clicks and hisses give their sound soul.

  • Thanks for posting this but I believe you need to change the 78 rpm needle or get a better copy of this record. It sounds very warn & "floating" - like the needle is barely hitting the groove, possibly causing further damage to the record & not presenting your true audio potential fairly.

  • I've enjoyed your other postings & they sound fantastic but not this one, unfortunately. It's a shame bcse. right now I believe yours is the only true example of the original Andrew Sisters' recording (on U-tube), not the hi-fi one they did 11 years later.

  • I did my best to get the best sound - but this record's condition is very very worn. I'm looking out for a better copy

  • The song was composed by a Trinidadian Calypsonian named Lord Invader. He successfully sued Decca Records and the Andrews Sisters for ripping off the song (since they sold over a million records) without crediting him or paying royalties.

  • me mum loves this, shes a puritan hahaha. i'll remind her when i go back to nz

  • I heard that little rascal Morey Amsterdam wrote this tune.

  • Is that, Maury Amsterdam who was in the Dick Van Dyke show ? Always skitting the tall baldy fella ?

  • Yes, thats exactly who it is. Good old Buddy Sorrell always capping on Mel Cooley
