  • Funny how tea baggers know little of the true tea party. lol

  • What about the real start of the Tea Party durring the Presidential election in 07? Ron Pauls supporters staged the biggest fund raising event in history raising 6.4 MILLION in one day on the anniversary of the original Tea Party. The event that took place in different cities around the US where we threw boxes marked with "Iraq War" and "Federal Debt" and "the FED" into bodies of water (then pulled them out). That was THE REAL start of the Tea Party before it was co-opted by the far right.

  • The tea party has been corrupted by the other side of the political fence. It is just the same back and forth shit with whose is in power.

  • Good Info, vote Tea-party 2012!

  • @crossland1872 People don't want fascism.

  • The original Tea Party of 1773 was actually a rebellion against the corporate power of the East India Tea Company. Search Youtube for Thom Hartmann Tea Party. There's an account by one of the men who was in it, the only eyewitness account known.

  • It's a John Birch Society caucus in the Republican Party -- it's no party. And this video lies: it was heavily bankrolled: where are the Koch Brothers here? because they were all over this. What bullshit.

  • doesn't make sense. they take the title tea party...but the tea party then was a protest of an absentee landlord's attempt to monopolize the tea market...eliminating AMERICAN's presence in the same market.

if tea party thinkers ran government...wouldn't there be another group saying we want less of you too?

you want freedom from government...go live a life of the Amish.

    you don't know freedom.

  • @doctorsizzle You don't know jack shit.

  • @doctorsizzle The traditional story is wrong. I don't know if you can see my comment above (or where it is now) but the original Tea Party of 1773 was actually a rebellion against the corporate power of the East India Tea Company. Search Youtube for Thom Hartmann Tea Party. There's an account by one of the men who was in it, the only eyewitness account known.

  • boston.com/news/politics/politicalintelligence/2007/12/ron_pauls_tea_p.html

The Tea Party was rooted at a Ron Paul fundraiser in late 2007.

  • As the Tea Party grows up it will have to realize how close the Republicans are to the totalitarian pro-bankster hate-speachy ("men are patrriarchs", fake rape stats, rampant workplace discriminatiion against qualified hard-working people, "RACIST!" ) democrats. Not until the Tea Party rejects the military industrial complex, NAFTA, the UN encroachment on US law, the FED, it will be immature. Bush I = Clinton = Bush II = Obama -- all fervant big gov't pro-bankster anti-constitutionalists.

  • @pkpapers It was George W Bush who suspended habeus corpus and trashed the Constitution with the so-called Patriot Act. Sadly, President Obama didn't get rid of it and that's the really scary part. Jefferson thought it extremely important. Today they can take an American citizen away and keep him/her in prison forever without bringing a single charge against them. That's never been the case through all of our history.

  • Screw the tea party and the fake lying republicans! They love and kiss wall streets asshole!

  • Fuck republicans Fucj Glenn Beckand fuck Palin! A bunch of fakes!

  • Another money making scam.....

  • America should cease being labeled into factions. We are either like me, or not.

  • Is it just me or do Tea Partiers seem to have a lot of hate going?

  • The TEA PARTY began DECEMBER 16 2007 with Ron Paul's 5 million money bomb. Look it up!

  • @MaribelTipton haha exactly right. then the real movement was co-opt and run by fox news/ right wing big $ supporters. its not grass roots and the tea party members themselves dont know the real issues. theyre so misinformed and ignorant its scary to think that that many ppl can be so easily mislead.

  • @MaribelTipton 6 million... If your gonna praise him get it right... (I like Him too)

  • @MaribelTipton

I agree. It was started by a PAC as a pseudo-grassroots movement.

  • @MaribelTipton Seriously. It baffles me how little people know about this one huge event. 6.4 Million raised that day.

  • Just another poorly informed College kid with a leftist agenda trying to set right the world for all of us who work for a living. Sorry son, you get an "F" for research- could I get a neutral, non-biased source for Ron Paul leading the tea party? (MSNBC socialists and Media Matters are clearly biased FYI) Last I checked it was the American people running the tea party and it looks like they had a special message for Congress and Mr. Obama... That message was GTFO.

  • If you stage it, they will come!

  • @tulsabball The Tea Party only CLAIMS to have no leaders, because that is what strokes the ego of the people they market to. In reality, organizing events, websites, and other campaigns take a LOT of money and a very high level of coordination. People like Dick Morris (and others) are pulling the strings. They get their payoff from party bosses and lobbyists who benefit politically..and they are laughing all the way to the bank.

  • This kinda makes me think that these people are 1st world extremists. Instead of hiding caves they hook up the Wi-Fi in their foreclosed comes.

All the word Teabaggers is is a widely acceptable term for them. ex. trekkies "No it's Trekkers!" Live with it. It beats what some others feel like calling them, like "batshit."

  • teabaggers suck balls

  • @sydferret

Does that mean you are homophobic?

    Are democrats homophobic?

    Peace

  • @truefictions Actually I think he's technically correct. Teabagging is ball sucking. No judgment stated or implied.

  • @Kergillian true, conclusions drawn are projections

  • Totally incorrect propaganda. Trying to rewrite history here and it is completely disgusting. "This is all you need to know about the Tea Party"

Are you trying to brainwash us with this complete bullshit?

  • @aeb242 Propaganda? It's how HE views history. If you don't like it. Make one yourself. Honestly in my opinion, hence MY opinion, I think Tea Party members are absolutely ignorant imbeciles with no ounce of tolerance. I'm a Republican and Conservative myself, yet I feel too embarassed to say that, because I don't want to be associated with such a group.

  • @shiron236 I'm not talking about opinions. You can make a video of whatever you want and express yourself. However, this video ignores a HUGE and VERY IMPORTANT part of the Tea Party history. It was started in 2007 by Dr. Ron Paul for a very different reason than presented in this video. I don't necessarily support anything the Tea Party says but the perspective presented in this video is unethical and just plain incorrect.

  • @shiron236 I would support any group who is being denied their right to be heard and recognised in history for what it actually is. If you started an organisation that stood for something respectable you would probably want that part of the history to be included no matter hoe corrupt and crazy it became in the future. You can't justify what they're doing here and it should completely destroy the maker's credibility.

  • @aeb242 I have to agree. He was fr too kind and gave the teabaggers too much credit. He could have summed up the tea party in three words: Bat. Shit. Crazy.

  • @Kergillian I absolutely disagree with you. How simple minded can you be? This isn't about making anybody appear crazy or supporting an opinion. The filmmaker is trying to foster ignorance of the real tea party started in 2007 by Ron Paul. I don't care what your opinion is, you don't change history to support it, that is completely unethical.

  • @aeb242 Talk about rewriting history... Ron Paul started the Tea Party movement? Back that up please. This should be good. Ron Paul's 2007 fundraiser and the current tea party are very different animals. At best you could say that Ron Paul gave the GOP the idea.

  • @Kergillian search "Ron Paul Tea Party 2007" on this site.

  • @aeb242 I've seen it. I stand by my assertion that Ron Paul's 2007 fundraiser is a different animal than the current tea party.

  • @Kergillian Sure, the tea party is a different animal but the idea and term "Tea Party" WAS started by Ron Paul. Whether or not he founded the official political party. In fact, the Ron Paul video is a hell of a lot better evidence of the emergent tea party prior to 2010 than a small town rally and a news clip of mr. financial dude yelling about housing prices. The opponents of the tea party are trying to warp history to make it easier for you to belittle and invalidate them as a group.

  • @aeb242 I never saw Ron Paul calling the movement "The Tea Party Movement". Further, this video is dealing with the current crackpot fueled Tea Party movement. If you really want to give Ron Paul credit for these lunatics, feel free. I still don't believe that Ron Paul is responsible for the Teabaggers as they are now, or as they are presented in this video.

  • @Kergillian I WILL give credit to Ron Paul. Not because there is anything of value in the tea party but because the fact that a movement can be so openly discredited when it once was a valuable representation of real people's concerns is incredibly concerning to me! I am deeply disturbed by the refusal of people such as yourself to see other human beings as complete, self aware entities. Nobody would follow a movement if it was legitimately crazy there is a reason behind the whole ordeal.

  • @aeb242 You yourself concede hat the current tea party movement is a different animal than Ron Paul's grass roots movement. So, by giving credit to Ron Paul, YOU are rewriting history. The movement, such as it is, can be openly discredited because it legitimizes malcontent lunatics and provides them an unearned credibility. ANY nutjob can wave the Tea Party flag and be accepted. While not all tea baggers are loonies, their presence is lost among the kooks who are defining the movement.

  • @Kergillian Okay, you set up the question of who to give credit to. That question was not about who gets the credit for all of the Tea Party's actions, it was about who began the movement. I said it before, there is no lunacy involved in politics. The only insanity that I can't think of is if something is not making someone money. There is a good reason the party was founded on solid issues like the questionable functionality of the federal reserve system and the destruction of our liberties.

  • @aeb242 You really are deluded if you believe that there is no lunacy in politics. The current Tea Party movement is a GOP/big business backed hijacking of a grass roots model similar to the Moral Majority movement of the 1980s. So I could argue that credit goes to Falwell. As for "solid issues like the questionable functionality of the federal reserve system", you'd be hard pressed to find many tea baggers who know what that means.

  • inb4 Liberal circle jerk - oh wait.

The tea party did mean something before big corp derailed the movement.

But go ahead and crow your Democrat / Republican bullshit - neither or em know nor care about fixing this mess

  • Great recap of the SECOND half of the tea party movement. Now where's the video covering the first half of the movement, starting in 2007 with Dr. Paul?

  • This video is bullshit. It all started in 2007.

Search for "tea party 2007" on YouTube.

To start this video claiming the tea party started in 2009 is bull.

    Peace

    P.S.

Everyone can thank Ron Paul for waking up the masses.

    Ron Paul 2012!

  • @truefictions you seem like you hold some dangerous economic ideas, please don't vote in any more elections.

  • @truefictions The way people jump up and shout Ron Paul's name reminds me of of the way fans used to always call into live talk shows and scream "Howard Stern!"

  • I feel sorry for you, America. I know you've got alot of smart politicians but it's assholes like Glenn Beck that stop people from visiting the hospital. If it makes you feel any better, australia is run by a ginger woman.

  • great recap from 2009 on, but I suggest anyone watching this video to google out "Ron Paul Tea Party 2007" . The Republicans just hijacked Ron Paul's campaign after they got their asses handed to them in 2008 and saw that was the only place there was energy within the Republican spectrum.

  • "Time now to govern.. Good luck with that"

    hehe

  • It seems like the Tea Party people who associate more or less exclusively with Ron Paul are almost a different organization than those that endorse his son Rand and Palin and all the others. Almost like there is one that more focused on constitution and another based on pretending they're not republicans.

  • @wjw0084 you nailed it exactly. The OG TP movement basically got hijacked

  • Nice

  • Its HARD to organize a PTA bake sale.

Some very smart and powerful people (like Dick Morris -Clinton's former campaign advisor) are running the Tea Party behind the scenes. They use fairly obvious tactics straight out of Edward Bernay's books.

Its never been very difficult to incite a mob to grab their pitch forks and attack ...especially when you start crying about patriotism and invoking religious undertones. It worked when they were called The Moral Majority, and its working again now.

  • If she dabbled in witchcraft in college, you know she dabbled in some other things as well.

  • @DerSchnurrbart teabagging?

  • lol thanks for the update
