  • I too served in the ACC and was posted to Shrewsbury in the 80s when they had sounded the death knell for Sir John Moore barracks.The events that were staged to mark this sad occasion were brilliant but the high light for me was the band playing this on the old square at sunset.No one can do these sorts of occasions better than us Brits.They also had this on the juke box in The White Hart [sadly long gone]

  • I was in the Army Catering Corp 1975-1993 and had the pleasure to serve with 1LI in Omagh 1986-1989,the best posting of my career, this brings back fantastic memories.

  • i was in 2rrf and our corps of drums were top notch i was in the berlin tattoo in 81 or 82 and you lot played this it made the hairs on my neck stand up excellent
