So sad that he passed away, I heard him on Eddie Trunk earlier on in the year I think April and he was working on New Material and was going to fill in for Mike Tramp who was recovering from surgrey and wouldnt be able to tour in the summer. Once he was done with the tour he would reunite with Warrant and work on a new album but I don't know know.

Jani could have done whatever, or portrayed whatever image, but deep inside, u could tell he was a good guy, with a good heart. it all reflected in his voice, and his eyes.

This is possibly one of the most beautiful songs ever written. Definitely one of the top ten. Absolutely beautiful! Warrant was a very underrated band and they were very talented. I was fortunate enough to meet the whole band and they were all a bunch of cool guys. Jani Lane is the only one I ever actually hung out with. He was an awesome guy! Very cool and down to earth. We drank, shot pool, danced, sang and just had fun. He was amazing! What a loss! RIP Jani!!! you will be missed!!!!

Jani Lane hated Cherry Pie, his biggest hit. He complained about how it was written in a night and how it took over the album. The album was originally supposed to be named Uncle Tom's Cabin, which, in my opinion, had a lot more talent all the way around. Anyhow, there is an interview with him somewhere on the internet talking about it.
To pay my respects, I've been revisiting the old Warrant songs and listening to the ones I didn't know, and I´ve found at least 10 that deserved to be hits... Mr. Lane had real talent (multi-instrumentist and lyricist besides great singer)and charisma (check the live versions: makes you want to be there!). Please if you have time, look around: you'll find catchy tunes and well written lyrics!
RIP Jani, you once said in an interview that your legacy would be Cherry Pie but songs like this are your legacy you were a gifted songwriter and talented singer thank you for being part of my teenage years.

box set but none of them cover some of the "other" critical songs of Jani Lane's
life. But pursue (download) Chameleon, Crawl Space, High & Stronger Now.
These songs came out in 95' when Jani was going through tougher times.
But it seems to me that Jani caught the tail end of an era of rock (glam metal)
that NEEDED his abilities. Instead of supporting a saviour (like Jani)
the labels betrayed him/glam metal...

Jani was the real deal. i remember watching videos of Warrant with my mom, a few months ago. i'd always tell her "Mami, someday i hope i find a man like Jani Lane."
Jani could have done whatever, or portrayed whatever image, but deep inside, u could tell he was a good guy, with a good heart. it all reflected in his voice, and his eyes.
now, im 14, and Jani will always be my idea of a "perfect man."

I always caught flack from people when I was a teenager for warrant being my favorite band.I would tell everyone to actually listen to the lyrics and pay attention to the arrangements of the music,Jani Lane was one of the best song writers at the time and never got the credit he so richly deserved.R.I.P. @mouse840 This was definately the most under rated band of that era hands down...It is to bad that more people didnt analyze this band instead of treating them like another garage band...They were lyrical and musical geniuses... Who is it Eminem that is the self proclaimed musical genius? I like Eminem but he will never but what is now an era that is lost in time...Warrant was one of my favorite bands of the era as has remained one of my all time favorite bands...

Ballad of Jayne was actually Faster Pussycat if memory serves, but Jani Lane played in a band called Plain Jane (in addition to his name), so reading into it really isn't that odd!

This is possibly one of the most beautiful songs ever written. Definitely one of the top ten. Absolutely beautiful! Warrant was a very underrated band and they were very talented. I was fortunate enough to meet the whole band and they were all a bunch of cool guys. Jani Lane is the only one I ever actually hung out with. He was an awesome guy! Very cool and down to earth. We drank, shot pool, danced, sang and just had fun. He was amazing! What a loss! RIP Jani!!! you will be missed!!!!

Jani Lane hated Cherry Pie, his biggest hit. He complained about how it was written in a night and how it took over the album. The album was originally supposed to be named Uncle Tom's Cabin, which, in my opinion, had a lot more talent all the way around. Anyhow, there is an interview with him somewhere on the internet talking about it.

To pay my respects, I've been revisiting the old Warrant songs and listening to the ones I didn't know, and I´ve found at least 10 that deserved to be hits... Mr. Lane had real talent (multi-instrumentist and lyricist besides great singer)and charisma (check the live versions: makes you want to be there!). Please if you have time, look around: you'll find catchy tunes and well written lyrics!
