  • If you listen carefully his licks are from clasical music,,He said he listened to Music on Shortwave radio and developed his own Style!

  • it would be nice to hear page and beck and clapton to talk about blackmore and hear what they think. page meet blackmore in the early days before the yaidbirds

  • Hendrix was doing those dives and tremolos in 1965 at the Cafe Wha? in NYC.

  • @michaeljminton Blackmore is the best! thanks

  • When Ritchie's in a good mood great things happen.

  • For BBCs Dancing in the streets, Jeff Beck compared him self and Hendrix. He told on that occasion he could never play guitar like Hendrix because he's an Englishman. But Blackmoore is English too, isn't he?

  • Bilzen Jazz 1969 Mandrake Root

  • Ritchie sounds here so good!!!!

i was always wondering: Could Hendrix to hear or see Ritchie Blackmore`s playing??

and what he would tell about it???

  • @z603dauren Hendrix really admired Blackmore's playing, according to Deep Purple's first bassist, Nick Simper

  • @VincePalamara

Yes, thanks for the answer!!! I hope also Jimmy could hear the great album In rock. Album have released in June and Jimmy has died in september 1970!!

  • @z603dauren yeh ! ....its what killed him .

  • @VincePalamara And according to Hendrix himself. Both guitarists had actually been imitating each other for a while, completely unaware that they were heavily influencing one another at the same time. Alice Cooper talked about this in great detail on his radio show one night. It was very interesting. Jimi Hendrix considered Blackmore to be a much better guitarist than himself (and rightly so, as it was absolutely true).

  • @IshadaKatzteilov AWESOME!

  • @IshadaKatzteilov Hendrix died in 1970. What would he have said if he could have heart Blackmore´s playing after 1970.... :) But God bless Henrix´s memory!

  • @IshadaKatzteilov Believe me my friend, and i`m a RB fan, When Ritchie heard 'fire' he changed Deep purple. Gillan told that in a interview. Be glad, no Hendrix=no Deep Purple.

  • Blackers is quite simply the greatest rock guitarist that ever lived IMHO

  • def ahead of his time - thanks for posting this!!!!

  • Blackmore's trademark..the beautiful eastern scales!

  • BTW There's an awesome version of "Wring That Neck" from this footage but most of you probably know that. :)

  • IMO Blackmore was the best guitarist of his generation.

  • @jmastersherm1 True enough, I think he goes even beyond his generation to several generations past and to come. Cool stuff !!!

  • I agree with you 100% !!!!!

  • @jmastersherm1 Wow, John!!!! What incredible playing!!! He's such a genius!!!Honestly, whenever I see footage of performances like these, I just can't understand how he can do the type of music he's playing now. Come back, Master Blackmore, your peers and your loyal following await you!!!!

BTW-Ritchie has no peer (Wink). Sadly though all bridges have been burned it seemsw.

  • It's so sad too. I wish he'd come to his senses.

  • @ckc1958

I remember getting out of the cab after the last BN show feeling like I had returned from a funeral. Speaking of which the next will be mine if I don't get out of here and see a doctor. I'm one sick dude right now, Keep in touch Claire!

    J

  • John get to a doctor now!!! I don't want to go to your funeral, God forbid!!!

  • @ckc1958

One quick note though- there was a rumor that Lars Ulrich was pulling for a DP reunion with him on drums, Ritchie,Jon Lord, Glenn Hughes and David Coverdale. Jon Lord was particulry keen on a one-off and Hughes was up to it as well. Of course Ritchie probably never heard a thing about it. Oh well I'm out.

    Take Care!

  • You're probably right about Ritchie. Now get to a doctor and then get some rest. I'll definitely keep in touch, John!!!

  • @jmastersherm1

Incredible video. Mindblowing playing and show stopping theatrics!

  • @jmastersherm1
