Carl was a big influence in George, but for the whole band Elvis, Chuck Berry and specially Buddy Holly, were the biggest influences. You can hear a lot of Buddy Holly ticks in Beatle's early compositions. Indeed, that's a Gretsch 6120 that George is playing...his wife Olivia, bought that guitar for him just for the show. Though it's not common knowledge, Harrison stole this show when he played to the note, Scotty Moore's solo from "That's Alright." George is the epitome of humble and underrated guitarists.
