  • The Mullet Years!

  • Rarely has George ever looked so good. His hair is awesome here.

  • where can I find this?? is there a DVD of this concert?

  • 2bad Ringo wasnt on drums...only at Honey Don't...

  • @Nizzle2daBizzle He was a hard drinker at the time, since the Beatles days. I think he gave up that year

  • This is the loosest and happiest I've seen the great George since his early days in the Beatles!

  • CROWD=LUCKY BASTARDS

  • @ANDRESDFDAS How could they just SIT there? (although at the end, some of them were "dancing in the aisles".

  • George gave the BEATLES that extra click to the top!

  • George was a genius.

  • who's playing the solo's here?

  • @gbaby627 Carl Perkins.

  • I can' t beleive this is nearly 25 years old!! Great stuff!

  • they're so incredible! this song really got me addicted.

  • Carl Perkins learn to beatles the rock and roll.

  • What a thrill for George! RIP Carl Perkins....

  • How happy does George look playing alongside his idol Carl Perkins, and it looks like Mr C is returning the compliment. Excellent!

  • brill ,,xloveya george

  • Just how it sounded at the Cavern many years ago...WOW!

  • who cares about spelling at all!! This is YouTube, a place to watch videos of old and new. Post something relevant and stop wasting space. This is an awesome video! George is, and will always be one of my absolute favorite musicians. Not just because of his musical abilities, he seemed to be a very genuine and sincere artist. This was shown in his music and the way that he simply carried himself.

  • no se como expresar lo mucho que me gusta esta cancion

1° George es mi beatle favorito lo amo es genial

2° este cover le queda super

3° a dueto con Carl es una mega rolisiima

    hayy no no simplemente exelente

  • @hiippiiaalita .

  • EPIC!!!! :D

  • who was the drummer on this

  • @ludwigking

The drummer with the Dave Edmunds band.

  • Dave Edmunds!

  • this just knocked me out! WOW! :))

  • Gotta love that authentic SUN echo they got from the mikes and the reverb. I think George would have been there even if he was in a coma. I remember seeing the special when it first came out and being blown away. It was nice to see Carl do something like that before he passed. R.I.P. Carl and George. ♫♥♫

  • GO GEORGEY GO!!! Everybody's tryin to be my Baby!!!!!! YEAH!

  • Великие и легендарные!!!+++++

  • wie heeft deze dvd voor mij, fantastische dvd

  • These are some awesome videos...thanks for the post!

  • God Bless George Harrison. I KNOW he's still alive, somewhere. Long may he live.

I've never seen ANYONE do what he does as HAPPILY as he does it.

  • Carl Perkins was such a polite Gentleman! How Refreshing

  • it was thru the beatles that i discovered carl perkins music..the first record i bought was beatles '65..and it had two carl perkins songs on it..that i loved..."everybodys trying to be my baby" and "honey dont"....

carl was a great man...everybody who knew him loved him...his music lives on as does he in our hearts and in our fond memories...as does george harrison

  • @StraightTwoDVD I'm 29 years of age, and that album you mentioned is where I also heard those two songs. Personally, I prefer the Beatles' versions better. (I guess it's because those were the two that I heard first).

  • I recommend You to see the video "Dave Edmunds and Rockpile - Girls Talk"..

Also, on video is drummer Terry Williams, who played some time with Dire Straits... Small World!

BTW , all compliments for Carl,George,Dave...and for all the people from the informal band on stage... performance was great, amazing !

What a Carl`s anniversary and celebration for all of us!!!

  • Man, this sounds great. Rockabilly and stage of legends: Mr.George Harrison and Carl Perkins. R.I.P.

  • wow! he sounds good! i love u george!! :)

  • haha i've got his eye glasses :)

  • RIP George

  • If this song doesn't put a good feeling in your soul, then you have ice for blood.

  • My hero!!!

  • George is beautiful music, beautiful people....from Argentina!!! good bless george and carl!!!

  • George was truly 'in his element'.

  • I like the solo part when they both play together :D

And that little move of George in 2:29, I love it !

  • I think he's kicking the cable! But with style!

  • every time i watch this i get emotional....George was so coooooool..God bless him!

  • god bless carl.go cat go

  • WOW!!! George, Dave Edmunds I believe on acoustic and the Rockabilly King!! Go Cats Go!!!!!!!!

  • elvis back stabber,,,get a life pa,,l carl and elvis were mates,,it wasnt elvis fault he was given blue shued shoes to record,,,jerry carl and johny cash payd the biggest tributes to him ,,silly man

  • Carl was a true friend and not a back stabber like Elivs was . George was the greatest and the best Beatle. Thank God almighty he had a son by Olivia Arias.

  • RIP George.

Your music will also live on forever.

  • It's a shame that the bands of the last 30 years or so that call them selfs rock n roll bands dont have the class that the bands coming out of England in the late 50 an 60 showed, they have so much respect for the musichians and the music they played tGod bless musicians like George and outher guitar players who love to play rockbille ,i guess im just saying the same thing as to what said charger 19691 said

  • Great musicians and singers can play and sing any kind of music, George Harrison knew and respected where Rock and Roll came from and Carl Perkins was one of the founding fathers of Rock and Roll. This performance shows the love and respect George had for his hero and the music that was in his heart. God bless these musical giants!!!

  • @charger19691 Great guitar playing by Carl and George Harrison is also fine. Truly, Ringo was always my favorite Beatle then George. Love all these "old guys"

  • This is the great George Harrison (as far as I'm concerned) at his absolute best!!! Just rocking out with the great Carl Perkins! Talk about keeping it real!!!! This is awesome!!

  • Only The Best are good. And they are!

  • LOL....I had to read this comment about 20 times and I still dont get it!

  • You are right.I dont understand ìt either.I seem to have been very drunk.

    Sorry!

  • The George guitar is a Gretsch 5120?

  • I have a feeling it's a 6120.

  • Fabulous !

Carl is the man, but George's voice also works great for this song.

These guys should have kept playing together... done albums... and toured the world !

  • Harrison was a Rockabilly cat at heart- always was.

  • Man, did George ever fall for that rockabilly stuff! Beatles wouldn't have been the same without that influence thru George.

  • Carl was a big influence in George, but for the whole band Elvis, Chuck Berry and specially Buddy Holly, were the biggest influences. You can hear a lot of Buddy Holly ticks in Beatle's early compositions. It's true, however, that in legendary solos like the ones of Can't buy me love or All my loving, the sound, the style and even the licks are clearly influenced by Carl

  • The Beatles just wasn't George's thing, he kicks ass with this though...

  • the beatles wasnt georges thing?....are you deaf?

  • Well I mean yea he was great and all but you can definitely tell that this was more his thing...

  • he did this song in the beatles

  • Yea he did it in the Beatles style... This is rockabilly, all I'm saying is I like him better here.

  • ok. fair enough

  • this is awesome, allstar alltime always

  • What a great ensemble thanks Dave

  • shame we wont get great music like this anymore

  • George Harrison- a Rockabilly Cat at heart! R.I.P

  • Does anyone know who the guy is playing rhythm w/ the Ovation guitar?

  • The guy playing rhythm w/ the Ovation guitar is Dave Edmonds it was he's idea for the show....

  • @slaphappynamwen actually its edmUnds

  • @iamthebeatlesno1fan sorry but im not to good at spelling...

  • @slaphappynamwen Don't you just love clever dicks who can spell everything and look down on the rest of us?

  • @christopauls yep I Know What You Mean.... The World Is Full Of Um.

  • @christopauls Since when does spelling require cleverness? You learn it in elementary school. Or you should have. That's about as basic as education can get.

  • @alan4sure A reasoned argument, is far more interestring than, telling someone, they got their spelling wrong. Those who can't spell, know they can't spell. When you point out the fact that they can't spell. It comes as no surprise to them at all.

If your intention is to be helpful, because they won't find him if they got his name, wrong. Thanks would be in order. More often than not, it's just some clever dick, showing off because he can spell.

  • @christopauls Thanks For Your Comments ... i just hope ive spelt this right LOL

  • @slaphappynamwen I wouldn't know. I can't spell.

  • @alan4sure spelling has always seemed to be a very mystical thing to me. Just like some people can't do any sports...they are too awkward. It takes every ounce of brain power for me to spell....even though if you talked to me you would think me to be a college professor....it's almost like a disability with me. However....I can completely take a Rolex apart and get it back together. Bad spelling does not always mean a person is brain dead......although it may look so in print

  • @inkey2 Hmmm, I have to admit, that has never occurred to me that spelling may be actually be truly difficult to some folks who are otherwise very intelligent. Mostly I group the ones who can't spell as being part of a group that most likely can't add, can't carry on much of a conversation, (without like, using "like") and can't concentrate. Yet they can be really good at something fairly useless as say, texting their friends. LOL I see you're not in this group!

  • @slaphappynamwen Perfect casting * & what a validation for Dave to be invited share the stage with Carl foremost & a fellow admirer of his - George Harrison.

  • @DaDa2Phlux Hold the presses - i stand corrected it was Dave's idea evidently.CMA time :)

  • @slaphappynamwen dave edmunds english genius

  • Dave Edmunds

  • george harrison,is in top form, ringo is having fun and playing great, musicians every where are different branches of the same tree(your all very lucky)look at the roots of this tree,WOW.. long live musicians!!!!!!

  • George Harrison was a huge fan of Carl Perkins. When he was younger this must have been his dream.

  • This is "BAD". I simply love it!!!!

  • A few years later in an interview for Cloud 9, George was asked why he didn't do the big charity concerts in vogue at the time. Geroge replied that he did perform on this show and jokingly called it "Carl Aid".

  • One of George's best "live" vocals.

  • great video, love these guys,ty for letting me post a video response

  • Harrison's live solos sound better than his recorded ones, he's got to be the only guitarrist who does that.

  • greatest artist of all time!!

Rip George and Rip Carl thanks for your music!

  • great

    thanks for the posting

  • I was invited to breakfart with an aquaintance, ( a frirend), to meet her mother and her mother's friend. Carl Perkins and Jeannie Pruitt. Still have their autographs, on napkins!!! They were fantastic!!!

  • The guitar Perkins is using appeas to be a Peavey T25

  • carl had a contract with peavey guitars

  • ♥

  • Is there someone who now what guitar Calr Perkins is using here???

  • Clear connection between George and Carl.

This version is right there with the early Beatles

    version. Both are inspired.

  • This is what rock´n roll is all about!!!

  • George came out of retirement after thos show... If this never happened we wqould never see cloud Nine or Brainwashed.. GOD HE WAS A HUNK.... My Mom had a competition while watching this one night.. she liked eric While I liked George.. She was 60 something while I was 14 or 15 at the time... GO GEORGE honey... YOU ARE SMOKIN!

  • i agree with ijustlovegeorgeharrison

    great musicians on the stage!

    and the band is amazing!

  • YEAH

    GEORGE HARRISON

  • Oh! Beautiful George :D

I love him so much! ^^

and his voice is so lovely :D

    great musicians on the stage!

  • I want to hug George and kiss him on the cheek. He was still so cute after all those years. I always ask myself "Where's Paul?" whenever I watch Carl Perkins & Friends (I know Ringo was there). Of course if Paul was there too it would be a Very Big Thing so I understand why he wasn't there, but I still missed him.

  • Brilliant Live Performance

George is doing his little leg kicks from the Beatles days Ahh!! Love him to bits

  • This is really super! Thanks Laura for sharing!

  • Indeed, that's a Gretsch 6120 that George is playing...his wife Olivia, bought that guitar for him just for the show. Though it's not common knowledge, Harrison stole this show when he played to the note, Scotty Moore's solo from "That's Alright." George is the epitome of humble and underrated guitarists.

  • AMAZING!!!!

  • is that a casino hes playing :D

  • if you mean George no it's a Gretsch G6120.

  • oh thank. i really want an epiphone casino so maybe i just keep imagining it

  • I don't have the words to describe how good this is.

  • part two is uploaded... enjoy.

  • Sounds just like when he sung it on Beatles For Sale.

  • love that george and carl.. RIP

  • made me smile so much.ty.agree with cwknig2 not singers but they try so much u can hear it.

  • They broke the mold when they made these guys. THAT, my friends, is MUSIC.

  • What I loved about these old guys was they weren't singers, they were musicians. Eventhough they sang great, they were musicians foremost. Most current singers just sing songs others have written to sell records, no soul, and no feeling. Probably because they don't have an intrigual part in creating the music.

  • probably the best performance Harrison ever made.the song is fantastic.remember when I was watching the show on tv...

  • Rather than acting superior -knowing that everybody there worships him- Carl's happy and grateful to play with his friends. That's true genius.

  • Yes. Considering the Beatles basically finsihed off his style of music, he could have been bitter like Elvis and Jerry Lee. Instead, he made his own peace and embraced them when he had the opportunity. That's real. Class all the way. RIP Carl and George.

  • Oh it's nice to see that George got along so well with his hero, Carl. He does a wonderful job with that song too, he doesn't seem nervous or anything. Thank you very much for posting!

  • :)

If you truly love performing you're rarely nervous :)

and Im so happy when I see George :)

  • awsome footage great great

  • Love the chemistry between them.
