  • Bill Bruford the anchor of this ship.

  • i just cant get enough of allans playing with this band

  • I love the way they break it all down at the end... so smooth and effortless.

  • @Steven4466 The way I heard it, for those in the know Jimi Hendrix happens to be the greatest guitarist of all time

  • What I love about these 70's videos is that music is incredibly good and they load as fast as hell!!!!

  • rare rock'

  • Amazing passage starts @ 2:30.

  • these time signatures are insane

  • was it the style at the time to have a commando potato growth at the front of your niteshade bellbottoms?

  • Buongiorno a tutti vi saluto con questo video del 79, magnifico, concerto memorabile...

  • @Steven4466 No worries you didn't offend me I'm too old for that Besides I believe that somehow I'm related to ducks, no to (as my grand, granddad Darwin used to say) monkeys as everybody else So all the insults either intended or not affect me as water affects my cousins the ducks I wrote and uploaded here "Inspired By UK" it's a good tune, give it a listen As for Allan I pity him actually I read and saw a couple interviews with him It seems he is never satisfied with his playing and his sound

  • @Steven4466 I was wondering if you could clarify something for me as regarding to the following part of your comment: "...John Wetton sacked god..." did you mean that John Wetton fired Allan Holdsworth, or, perhaps you meant that Wetton sucked Allan's apparently big cock and you just made spelling mistake?

  • FYI: Jaco was a diagnosed manic-depressive. For years before he ever met Jeff Berlin. His self-destructive behaviour was something that only meds could control and he stopped taking them. He did coke when he was down and drank when he was manic. I saw him play twice...once in each state...and he was still a genius on the instrument.

Read his biography before you start trying to re-write history with some bogus garbage like Jaco being intimidated by ANY bassist...

  • Sorry...this is NOT UK...

This is the band Bruford. i have the DVD. UK had Eddie Jobson on keys/violin and John Wetton on bass/vocals. This is Dave Stewart - keys and Jeff Berlin on bass. This band put out 4 recordings as Bruford.

  • CLASSIC.!!! SO PROGRESSIVE !!!

  • CLASSIS......SO PROGRESSIVE !!!

  • sounds awful and boring greg howe's is way more interesting

  • Jeff Berlin BTM: Before The Moustache

  • @Steven4466 Stephen Speaks The Truth. Greatest Band Ever.

  • Actually, this group was just called Bruford, not UK or Bill Bruford Band.

  • I wish I knew who was playing when...Bruford versus Bozzio...

  • Hats off to Chriskkboongg. Subscribe every line. Personally, I think that both groups created a powerful chemistry and a great bunch of albums in their own right. Maybe some confusion comes in consideration of the fact that John Wetton co-wrote the song Beelzebub but never played it, as far as I know, with or without UK, a typical case of "song migration". I still wonder how it may have sounded.

  • @Steven4466 You are incorrect on three accounts.

    1. This group is Bruford, which Bruford formed after leaving U.K.

    2. Wetton didn't sack Holdsworth. Allan left along with Bruford.

    3. Wetton is not overrrated. He is underrated.

  • This affair misrepresenting the new Bruford Band as a new UK is news to me. In hindsight it is so obvious that John Wetton & Eddie Jobson are UK as evidenced by their 2nd & 3rd lps. Doesn't sound like an honest mistake.

  • Bill makes me wanna play RotoToms now too

  • @lolz2561 I got a fever ....and the only perscription is ROTOTOMS!

  • I could listen to this music all day long. It never gets old.

  • Dave Stewart is awesome. I saw him with Hatfield and the North just after Pip Pyle died. A very moving show.

  • I'll agree with you that Berlin is probably a better bass player then Wetton, but don't underestimate the talent of John. He's an excellent bass player & his voice was darn haunting at times. Robert Fripp wouldn't have played with him if he wasn't any good. Berlin is something else though

  • Jeff is better as far as technique is concerned but Wetton's playing sounds like a stalking ogre, heavy, purposeful, uncluttered and exactly what's needed. Just listen to "In the Dead of Night" it's basically a repeated root note in an odd time and it's awesome to hear AH solo over something like that. Just right

  • In the Dead of Night is awesome. AH's solo was referred to by Bruford as 2 minutes of the most blissful liquid guitar you're ever likely to hear (something like that) Actually, it's like 3 minutes... lol

  • @Lightmane321 And if he wasn't any good, Fripp would have taught him to play better as he did with Boz.

  • @Steven4466 This group was called Bill Bruford Band, and recorded two albums:"Feel so good to me" and "One Of kind"

  • Ok...the band was simply called "Bruford".

They released three studio albums: "Feels good to me"(1977), "One of a Kind"(1979) and "Gradually going Tornado"(1980).

On the third album Allan Holdsworth was replaced by John Clark. Although Holdsworth is a far better player, the band retained the same type of sound and Jeff Berlin (who also did the lead vocals) and Dave Stewart really shined on this one! If you love the first two albums, you'll love the third!

  • @ohmproduct - had a great record once called "gradually going tornado", w.bb-band...

  • @ohmproduct

Yep, with S&H being off the former. I was fortunate enough to catch them during the OoaK tour, in a club that held 200-300 max. Absolute monsters, all of them, but Berlin still sticks out in my mind as being special. Still have 3 or 4 vinyls collecting dust somewhere... OoaK is simply a must-have for anyone that's a fan of Fusion.

  • @ohmproduct This band name is even shorter than one might suppose. It appears on the cover as "Bruford."

  • I never knew this band existed, and I consider myself a big fan of Holdsworth. I've gotta go find this album. That kit of Brufords is the same kit but just smaller from the "Discipline" KC band.

  • He was brutally beaten by Benny the Bouncer after starting some shit. Jaco suddenly developing self destructive behavior after the famous Berlin/Pasto jam session has been documented. ? why after this jam session Jaco started drinking, doing drugs excessively and alienated people and fellow musicians culminating in suicide by bouncer after a coupla previous failed attempts?

  • How about John Wetton?

  • Um, Percy Jones anyone? Tony Levin? Stanley Clark? There are some GREAT bassists out there........

  • the second best bass player after Jaco Pastorius is Jeff Berlin he's amazing

  • your kidding right? Jaco commited suicide after a jam session with Jeff Berlin.

  • well my friend I respect and admire Jeff Berlin but is my point of view don't you think

  • simply type in "Jaco & Jeff Berlin" on YouTube, it is a 2 1/2 minute jam session of Jeff & Jaco. It is obvious why Jaco commited suicide shortly after the filming of this jam session.

  • you retard, jaco died in 87, the jam was in 85

  • Jaco's irratic ,suicidal behavior started right after this jam session. Im sure you have heard of suicide by cop. ...Jaco committed suicide by bouncer. When someone goes suicidal, it doesnt mean they cap themselves in 30 seconds. Jaco couldnt handle the fact that he was so overrated as a player.

  • He was brutally beaten by a bouncer and died.

  • what is dave stewart doing now?

  • allan es una persona extraña tal vez por eso es el mejor

  • Wow I never expected to see theis ... ever

    But youtube is your friend!

One of the fantastic songs from a fantastic album ' Feels good to me' which also featured the somewhat excentric singer Annette Peackock, a REAL spicegirl : D

  • I think Annette Peacock is a bit too eccentric. She speaks more than she does sing. I don't really think it fits with the music. I'd rather just enjoy the music. Just my preference.

  • Who would have thought Jeff and Allan were such sexy young lads?

Simply brilliant. Is is just me or is the old black jazz bass the best tone Jeff has ever had? I think it slipped substantially with humbucking puckups.

Ditto for Allan - his "fat strat" Charvels (which he basically invented) was also his best tone ever.

  • thanks for uploading this, wow classic holdsworth tunes
