  • Tiny Mouth over there is the dude from Piss.

  • he;s not even that funny, it's only because of his accent

  • YouTube suggested a video of "Kim Kardashian's Booty" after this. The algorithms understand Hari's audience.

  • Its unfortunate that this level of intelligent comedy wont go mainstream because its not "bro" enough for America.

  • Like, like, a thousand times like.

  • makes Gervais look like Gallagher. VERY sophisticated.

  • very sophisticated. keep up the good work.

  • i've been to hyderabad, honestly a stand-alone comedy club would not be financially feasible at all.

  • As much as I loved this whole film but what truly got to me was the end.... I found myself tearing up for some reason, possibly because I am a highly sensitive person but in being a young girl of color in America and forced to bow to certain bounds, I found myself relating to both sides, that of Manoj and Hari. Bravo Hari, wonderful writing!

  • Also, the "Shiva, the goddess of ice" joke is sublime...

  • What exactly is the "I get called 'Uncle' all the time" joke? Is it an "Uncle Tom" thing or am I misinterpreting it?

  • It's possible Manoj is a comment on someone like Russell Peters. The last word in this video is "paint", which is a word that Peters uses in his first comedy special. Hari could have used the word "blackface" or "facepaint" instead of just "paint".

    Just my two cents.

  • keep doing what you're doing, hari!!!

  • this was great

    reminds me of dave chappelle

  • oH FOR HEAVEN SAKE .. PLS TIE THE FLAG PROPER BEFORE YOU SAY INDIAN IS GOOD.. 03:04 IS THE POSITION..

  • Thats the same guy, right?

  • great pay off

  • A long way from comedy night my old friend! At least some of us had real aspirations and is following up on them! So I get I don't get anything for being above average at almost anything?

  • thats so accurate

  • who is that smiley burnette? i love her smile ,so hot pls someone get me the facebook adress of her

  • I watched this after you referred to it in the Klocek interview. One thing that struck me was how hesitant you were to give an example, and that got me thinking if you were worried if Manoj would backfire ( it appears so from some of the comments). Unrelated, but I love the "if I can make it in this country..." part; describes privileged mofo uncles perfectly.

Also, what's your opinion of Russell Peters? I see some Manoj in him, but I can't help but feel that there's something more to it.

  • not that funniest comedian i've heard, but not too bad

  • Comment removed

  • It's cool.

But I didn't get the Mexican accent.

  • I hindon't get it.

  • Holy fucking shit. I remember this from the Blue Scholars album release party for Bayani back in May of '07. God damn, it's funny but it was so annoying because this movie just kept playing and Blue Scholars wasn't playing yet. Oh well it was a dope show. And the director of this is Sabzi's (producers) brother.

  • "Indian the thing up!"

  • "comedy is a mirror into another world.... the third world"

    hahahahahdaklgh;akldhg... great video hari

  • ooooh i get it haha nice documentary

  • this is retarded... they dont have hamburgers with beef in the parts of india occupied by majority hindus

  • "YOUR FATHER OWES MY FATHER LAND...."

    hahahhahakldhg;kalhd......

  • THIS IS SPARRTTAA!!!

  • Oh! That Jeff guy called him a Hindi....yeah, Hindon't.

  • monkey brains are expensive..........If I had a dime for everytime..... monke- OH FUCK THIS SHI-

    Oh so great.

  • The best was when Hari goes "I don't even look like Manoj, I've got glasses and don't have a beard!".... and then in the very next shot Manoj has glasses. It took me until then to realize that Hari and Manoj were the same person -- pure brilliance.

  • Fantastic documentary! I thought there were certain undertones that came through while Manoj's audience was interviewed. It really felt like they had completely misunderstood what India was about and to me that was more interesting and humorous than anything else.

I thought Hari was absolutely fantastic!! Hilarious! Manoj was funny with his over the top sarcasm during the interviews but his act I thought was really rather weak.

  • Good stuff ! seems to be largely inspired by Ricky Gervais' mock-umentary style. KILLER, kEEELER..!

  • Hari, this is brilliant! I love it beginning to end. You did an excellent job of expressing what's happening without shoving it down our throats. It's like taking medicine with orange juice. It taste the same but you're getting better. You're healing the world. I want more! Keep'em coming.

  • Finally someone calling out the whol Indian accent crutch. Thank you.

  • This is very good, Hari's turning the whole hack Russell Peters/Sugar Sammy thing on its head.

  • why on the earth is the Indian flag shown inverted on 2:59?

  • Incredibly short. Wonderfully short, subject matter executed perfectly.

    God damn.

  • Manoj is a character. The actor/comedian playing him is standup Hari Kondabolu, who also wrote the script for this short.

  • posted too quickly. Well done commentary.

  • Manoj rules!

  • Great stuff Manoj! Hope to see more.

  • beef players!

  • absolutely brilliant. its wonderful to see comedy being used as a forum for discussing race and politics, as well as being damn hilarious.

  • manoj can go to hell.

  • this is hilarious, want to see more
