I've never been able to figure Dwarf Fortress out. I'll play it for a while and then get incredibly frustrated because I have no idea what's going on. This game, however, looks a lot easier to learn. Think I'll definitely give it a try.

Paul if you look for yellow patches on you minimap then that will tell you where the iron is. That does not mean that just because the rivers are covered in yellow that is all iron.

I know it's a matter of personal preference, but I plan while paused and watching others waste all of that time planning without pausing is irritating. For instance, all of that time your villagers spend standing around they could be making barrels or building walls. Ultimately it doesn't matter but this does affect my enjoyment of the video. Other than that, seems like a nice starter video.

You can press SHIFT to do more tasks after another.

like do a 3x3 tile while holding shift, so you can make another 3x3 tile without clicking at it again :)

Also in case you didnt notice it: these little bushes grow into trees. you can even see what tree it will get.
