  • That is actually an awesome landing. He knew he had a nose gear malfunction, and held it off the runway for as long as possible, then killed the engine and secured the props at the last second so they didnt strike the ground while spinning. Fantastic execution and minimized damage to the plane.

  • And that is how a troll lands a plane

  • Thats for babies!...

  • he had that so under control, i bet he was just showing off for the camera ;)

  • wow thats fucking cool man. Kudos to the flight crew. Awesome landing.

  • awesome landing for having a malfunction with the front landing gear

  • Every CBS Video Got An Ad

  • somebody explain to me how this guy got his pilots licenes

  • @XXTHE12THMANXX A malfunction of the landing gear has nothing to do with one's ability to fly an aircraft. The pilot was very professional in landing the plane, he/she shut down the engine right before the blades hit the tarmac, preventing damage to the engine.

  • Me: Without a down and locked indication, I would have touched down with only the first notch of flaps, or maybe zero, to give myself enough airspeed to hopefully have enough time to cut the engines and feather the props. Simply put, a prop strike on solid ground requires complete teardown because of the damage that is likely. Plus you also increase your chances of fire or covering the runway in oil by taking an engine running at 1000+ rpm and slamming it to a stop on concrete. Just my $0.02.

  • oww my nose

  • should have cut those engines earlier, could have been real bad...

  • That's gonna leave a mark

  • up oh you mean down oh whoops

  • made in china?

  • why the hell is there a george lopez ad on this video!?

  • Very smooth salvage job by the pilot BRAVO!!!

  • A little sanding, a little bondo and it's ready to fly again...

  • @TheDamnSpot + 2 full engine/prop teardowns worth at least 60k each....yeah no problem....

  • he was trying to do a stopy

  • FAIL

  • Well that's one way to stop a plane.

  • Not worth having to watch the pointless commercial.

  • @327409427 ad blocker plug in for firefox removes commercials.

  • engines should have been off and props should have been feathered. Otherwise everyones safe job well done

  • @keeevan I agree with you completely, keeping those engine running guaranteed massive teardowns of props and engines. Not saying that shutting them down would mean NO damage, I am saying that it's worth trying to shut them down and save yourself 200k. Just to be clear, engine shutdown should have only been done once touchdown was done. His decision to not shut them down was clearly because he was doing a soft field technique. So I guess it's 6 of one and half a dozen of another.

  • it's not really a nose dive... the front gear just failed to lock(i think)

  • Why did he not feather the props?

  • 30 second ad on 38 second vid. nope

  • poor half-a-million dollar plane =(

  • "all aboard the mono plane!"

  • 0:00

  • Every pilot's worst nightmare besides crashing.

  • Showtime Landing!

  • Freestyle landing?:)

  • i've always seen this design of landing gear as fundamentally suck. The wheel should open out against the horizontal force.

  • fail. not wat i thought it was going to be like

  • fourth

  • lol good quality wheel lol

  • He stopped the engines at just the right time!

  • No, the engines stopped due to the props hitting the ground.

  • I accidentally the plane. The whole thing.

  • what? lol
