  • Awesome videos! I've subbed! You should do a tutorial on blending 3d objects with the ground with environmental reflections etc....Just a suggestion. Keep up the good work!

    JBH-FILMS

  • I love everything less the effect of sound of gun

  • Please start doing these again there very helpful

  • @redbook5544332211 I am working on 3 episodes at the moment, should have one out next week.

  • @BlendThatFilm ok then thanks for the quick response

  • Really great stuff. I like the pace. It's not too fast but its not so slow that it would put off people used to the software. I just started playing with blender as a movie editor today and while I can see it taking a bit of time to get used to it I've liked what I've seen so far.

I don't suppose you could let me know what export settings you recommend for rendering out footage?

  • @rorkimaru For Youtube I render to H264 and set the Bitrate to 8500, well that's what I used for Episode 2 and will from now on.

  • please guys encourage him, and send him what you made with this tutorial !!

  • I rarely comment vids, but I'd like to thank you for those amazing tutorials you made! I've expected that for years, Film editing and VFX with a free software?! Dude, you might not have that much views, but what you are doing is NEEDED! I can't thank you enough!!

  • Thanks for giving us this great information!

  • awesome!

  • Great Tutorial! +SUB..

  • Another great video ... and delivered with much more confidence this time! I have this idea to make a quick video shoot-out with my wife and six-year-old using this technique over fingers-pointed-like-guns. A nice, pleasant nuclear family goes postal over household chores or something!

    Keep 'em coming, Tom!

  • You are a great teacher! I'm enjoying your tutorials. Thank you!

  • thanks, this is very useful.

  • keep it up! :D

  • but... but why someone would hate this !

  • maybe next time you show how to create dust made by a helicopter

  • Great work again, very professional and a very common and useful subject to cover. I'm sure it can be used for a range of other effects too.

  • Damn, I need to brush up on the compositor!

Thanks for another excellent video, very nice.

  • great tutorial again. but since i'm no hero with the smoke sim could you explain that or post the .blend somewhere, to see how it's done?

  • @flokkievids If anyone knows of a good place to upload files to for good distribution then let me know and I will happily upolad blend files.

  • @BlendThatFilm

great vid again, plz keep em comin!

  • @flokkievids

    Quick tip:

Select an object (e.g. the default cube) in 3D-view and search (spacebar) for "quick smoke".

Change the smoke type to "puff". Also check the setting "dissolve" in the smoke-domain's physics-settings.

Hope that helped a bit :-)

  • @DamnedWiiUser Wow! That was incredibly useful. I was stuck at the smoke sim bit for days. Thank You!

  • @DamnedWiiUser It helped a LOT!

  • Once again a brilliant show! Perfect tutorials and easy to understand! Nice one.

    :D

  • Amaizing man! No AE needed to make your film look cool :)

  • Great, your Tuts are very useful. :)

  • These videos are great. Keep them coming.

  • l earned a bit today yheeee Some things I never used or looked at But now its goint to be easier THX great job

  • I really like how Freddie Wong has become his own standard in muzzle flare ratings. XD

    Excellent tutorial!

  • Awesome stuff

  • Quick Question.

can you use a mix node instead of a alpha over node?

  • @HFdemofilms yeah you can if you want but it's rendered with an alpha channel so there's no need.

  • nice tut

u should do another muzzle flare tut with camera tracking and heat distortion

  • This is great ! keep them going ....

  • Just gotta say your tutorials are awesome. I will try this when I get home.

  • It would be good to have a tutorial about green screen, or any chroma key... I haven't seen any good node set up for that yet...

  • I really like that you show an easy and effective way to do things. Sure there are many other videos about muzzle flares, but are mostly way to long and too deep into the topic for beginners. Thanks for this tutorial, hope to see some other stuff soon.

  • great

  • Yay! Sweet
