@xdapinox Also, keep your hands wet so you don't wipe off the slime off the fish. The fish can die if you handle it with dry hands.

what kind of bait do you use? i see like 10+ grass carp just staying on the surface and ignoring everything i try.

Wonder bread balls. The wonder brand is the best for making them. Get a size 3 or 4 hook and make a bread ball around it. Chum the water with bread until you get them in a feeding frenzy. Launch some more bread and your bait behind it. Give you line some slack. As soon as you see it starting to tense up and move away from you, pull as hard as you can straight up! This should be within 2-3 secs once it takes your bait. You will soon join the carp huggers club if you follow this advice!

@carag001 Thanks so much for telling us about this. I tried catching one with a fly rod and the fish wasn't interested. There are 3 nice sized carp (about the size in your video) at a lake near me I want to try to catch. Thanks again.

I use one myself. Have you had any luck finding fish? I caught my 1st carp today but could not video tape or take pics. It was 7 lbs 13 oz.

no, i live in davie and at my house i have 2 lakes but all they have is brim, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, catfish and oscar.. i fish in lakes on the road but nothing ever bites

I do not think these is smallmouth bass in FL. I just came from fishing alone this morning and caught 10 peacock bass. If I had more shiners or wanted to catch some I did not cast to, I would have about 14. They were a little too small and I was looking for bigger size. You have to come with me and I will show you.
