He is the first semi invisible player I have seen pay such homage to Crazyheaded Chuck!!!!Brilliant tone. Forget what he is playing through. 90% of tone is in the fingers. Keep on rocking Mr.Twang I am a subscribin right now.....
Got to learn to dance like you Twangy! You make Chuck sound average...but he's still the MAN! You were almost born too late, but you still tickle my ears with your riffs...not bad at all for a youngster!
You are awesome man :D ,I think, somewhere near you is looking at you Chuck Berry or Keith Rciahrds or you are Keith Richards, thats why you dont show your face :D /sorry for my english/
@birdyboom He uses a line 6 pod studio gx, go to his site he shows what he uses. I've got the same and the sound is very good. (sorry for my english ^^)
I cant help coming back again and again to this virtuoso performance. Unfortunately no matter how many times I break it down into small segments and watch it again and again, I cannot even begin to come close to your incredible prowess on the guitar. Well at least thanks to you, I am able to enjoy and dream that one day I might aspire to play a little. Keep it up! You're great!!
the best the one, the ..... ford from the rock'n roll guitar, twangy guitar, assurément le meilleur guitariste du genre...... ses vidéos sont un vrai bonheur....... ces cours sont d'enfer .......
I have now tracked your rendition of all the Rolling Stones, Beatles and Chuck Berry favourites, and am full of admiration for you. I hope you can inspire me to play like you in the next 40 years - I have spent the past 40 trying already ;-) Great Talent!
What a performance! Superlative! What I like about this virtuoso is the fact that he does not have a long preamble about himself and his philosophies but just delivers without any fuss and sales pitch. Thanks for being such an inspiration to us all.
I am speechless... That was soooo good !!!! Thanks you are going to say I am difficult, but I can't see witch DVD has this lesson on it... Can you help, please?
Great guitar handling! I wish I hav´nt stopped playing at age 13, now at 55 I´ve picked it up again. I´ll keep on looking and listening to Your Videos and hopefully learn a few riffs.
I love high energy sleazy guitar filled with tortured bends and syncopated rhythm. What could be better. I'll working on this one for awhile. Thanks for the post.
Twang, this is one of the best videos I've ever seen on YouTube! You are a great guitar player, and the sound of your Telecaster is the best sound I've ever heard, coming from a Tele. Thank you for posting this video. I've learned a lot watching and listening.
I'm just learning how to play this song, and this is really an excellent version. Hats off to Twang for makin' it look effortless, fun, and loose. Great style!
Excellent playing and tone. I know this song by heart and I'm still amazed at Chuck's playing and phrasing on the original track. The piano also rocks like mad, and the rhythm guitar behind chuck is simple but solid as a rock. One of R&R's very best performances ever. Chuck and the boys somehow had it all together and in the pocket that day. You did a great job of "capturing the flavor" of it.
@Masterphonic - I know how to do it Chuck's way, pre-bend and release. I threw my own spin on it and to give all my critics something to talk about - hah.
@MyTwangyGuitar I think he's being ironic and referring to that video in which Keith Richards is rehearsing with him and Chuck's giving him a hell of a hard time with that particular bend =P
Wohooo! Thank you so much for posting. Absolutely great, a knocker of the highest degree. - I would be interested in what kind an amp you have on on this - maybe you got a chance. - -> Gotta go, click it again ... jack up your viewer score. LOL
Now THAT's Uncle Chuck Rock and Roll guitar with the rhythm, sound, feel, and tone it was meant to have. Deluxe Tweed amp? Killer! Check out my version of Oh! Carol if you get a chance. Regards, The '62 Mathew St. Band (1 Man-Full Group Retro)
im 18 in my mind chuck Berry and little richard are the kings of rock. elvis is good but he got famous from doing cover songs berry and richard wrote their own music
I guess by pre-bend you mean that bowrrrnnnnnnn sound at 0:12 seconds. If so, I do not think Chuck Berry would have been getting frustrated with your bowrrrnnnnnnn. Even though I'm yng, I only like music from the 1950's to mid 1960's, and you are as good as Chuck Berry, in his prime, Buddy Holly, Carl Perkins & Duane Eddy. And I do hear a lot of Duane Eddy in how you play, maybe you do it intentionally that's why the name MrTwangyGuitar.
But, if you wanted, you can be as well known as any guitar player because you are that good. Your covers of the oldies songs sound just like the originals. Which is difficult to do, even when those guys play now they don;t sound the same as they did 50's years ago. Chuck Berry's guitar playing sounds nothing like it did 50 years ago. I've watched most of your videos, and even the songs I do not like, I still like hearing how you play them & I like how you move your fingers.
In one of your videos, you said you couldn't play the guitar as well as Chuck Berry. I just watched a clip, here, with Chuck Berry & Keith Richards "Hail Hail Rock & Roll, they were practicing "Carol", let me tell you, like I told you before, I don't know the first thing about playing a guitar, but from what I hear you could tech them both how to play. You sound much better.
I like Chuck Berry and I can say what I think about his songs and my age isn't important. Was just a consideration. So, your cover is amazing ! great guitar!
sry dude, im not bashign your playing, you sound fucking great, and i love chuck berry, hes the real king of rock, elvis is a fucking poser in my eyes, sry if you disagree. And i was just making an honest point k. And you got to agree, it does sound alot like johnny b goode
