  • What happened was Already Gone was made before Halo, but Halo was made public before Already Gone. Kelly tried to stop Already Gone from being made public(out of respect for Ms. Knowles), but it was out of her hands.

  • Stop Poliiiiice!!...THIEF...THIEF

  • i don't think Ryan Tedder did anything wrong on purpose. But who knows. I do know, as a songwriter, that people have their own styles... many of my songs sound similar. And If Kelly is that concerned about it, She should write her own songs. @jjjaaaccckkk I didn't know that about Beyonce having such a big hand in her songwriting. That's awesome.

  • I think Beyonce's Halo is great for what it is and Kelly's Already Gone is great for what it is. I don't think this version would sound louder that it sounds now when Beyonce performes it. The same if Beyonce performed Already Gone.

  • I wouldn't have picked the up the similarities between the songs... they have a totally different spin on them....they each do a wonderful job on their songs, and that is all that should matter :)

  • its the first time that i think it sounds like the same. kellys is better :D

  • this version is awesome

  • i like this version

  • In actual fairness, these two songs are played at different tempos, its just that this guy made aligned the tempos and now it fits in well with the halo beat, but i'd like to see it the other way round

  • "I love her eyes" LMfaoo <3

  • The real genius here of course is One Republic's Ryan Tedder. Gave up one song and earned twice the money as both were successful.

I don't think it's a big deal really, I mean these days it seems like every song that comes out is a remake/remix or copy of some variety. Plus Kelly Clarkson and Beyonce are known for being singers not song writers, they don't compose their own music so who gives a shit where the tune comes from, either way it won't be their creation.

  • @jjjaaaccckkk Kelly has co-written 30 of her recorded songs, including 98% of My December.

In fact she had full writing power with My December and went against Clive Davis' request to accept a handful of Kara DioGuardi songs that she had previously written for Lindsay Lohan (she turned down $5 million!!).

  • @FakeHipster yeah I know she co-writes lyrics, I was saying she doesn't compose the music. I also mentioned in one of my other comments that she co-writes and so deserves more credit than beyonce in this scenario. I respect the singers who write their own lyrics a lot.

  • @jjjaaaccckkk Just came across a comment you posted 8months ago.Beyonce is a song-writter. Billboard listed Knowles at no.17 on their list of the Top 20 Hot 100 Songwriters, for having co-written 8 singles that hit no.1 on the Billboard Hot 100.She was one of only 3 women on that list.

[HALO] was composed by Ryan Tedder, Evan Bogart, and KNOWLES within 3 hrs in Tedder's studio.

[Beyonce] is the 1st black woman and the 2nd woman ever to take home the ASCAP Pop Songwriter of the Year Award

  • Hey! My a cappella group does a mash-up of this too! We're called Acappellics Anonymous-Check us out!

    youtube.com/user/ACappellicsAnonymous

  • To be honest there is a similar feel and production to the songs but niether of them sound similar to me at all. Alot of hype and controversy over nothing.

  • @musicguy713 Both songs are actually written by Ryan Tedder of One Republic. He's a producer in the industry and constantly writes for many artists. He also wrote Bleeding Love. So it's natural they sound similar. He used variations on a single theme.

  • @gariadara Yeah but the songs sound completely different the themes are opposite and the feel is a tad similar but still i have never thought they sound the same. But if they did it wouldntbe that big of a deal since ryan tedder wrote both ad produced them.

  • @musicguy713 they are different songs. The melodies are completely different indeed. But both songs use the exact same tempo, key, and phrasing. These are perhaps slightly more subtle but that depends on the listener, some people notice these "subtleties" than others. If you are highly sensitive to rhythm, for example, you'd pick up the identical beat right away. It's Ryan's M.O. In fact many of Tedder's songs have a driving beat motif: Apologize, Bleeding Love.

  • @gariadara Thas what i was gettig at its the beat and rhythm that sound similar but like you said its more of a ryan tedder style song.

  • already gone was written before halo. but halo came out before already gone. so it looks like kelly copied beyonce...noo

they are written by the same person

  • Haha Kelly slays Beyonce anyday. No competition at all. Kelly is an artist, Beyonce is Copycat

  • The Sad and Hope mixed together and equal to the Sad but still Had Hope

  • A BATTLEFIELD, A BATTLEFIELD, A BATTLEFIELD

I can at least find humour in imagining Timbaland creating a Mini Me and out comes OneRepublic Guy to continue Timbaland's work when he dies, the work of doing the same minimal thing for every song.

Though I don't think he's got to the stage where he's shoehorning himself into every song + video (looking like a paedophile on drugs) to make it look like he's the one who did all of it.

'Apologize by Timbaland (oh and feat. OneRepublic)'?? What??

  • Read the article on wikipedia regarding the similarity between Kelly Clarkson's already gone and Beyonce's Halo. They also have Ryan Tedder's [the front man of one republic which helped wrote both songs for Kelly Clarkson and Beyonce] satement on this 'problem'

  • i love her eyes too :D

  • DOWNLOAD LINK PLZ?

    JESUS LOVES YOU †♥

  • Kellys SO MUCH BETTER

  • i think it's obvious...

  • i like already gone better, only becuz i'm a die-hard kelly fan, but beyonce's good too.

  • LOL, this is given..it's the same song :)))

  • Both songs are great, but it's messed up how that producer gave them the same beat.

Halo - over 2million copies sold & peaked at #5

Already Gone - over 1million copies sold & peaked at #13

    So they both did well.

  • I think I remember beyonce getting mad about Kelly's song. Then they found out about the producer. didnt he get in trouble for it? I could have sworn i read about that.

  • Okay Kelly Clarkson came out with the song first!!!!

  • Is it awful that I don't think they sound similar?

  • this is so awesome! for real. and youre right from one producer came already gone and battle field, the other halo. but my own producer now. got a new llist.

  • I heard that Halo, Already Gone and Battlefield sound similar because the same dude helped write them at around the same time

  • hey! download link please!? haha! :))

  • Kelly clarkson is tons better than beyowolf.

  • it's totally off at some points which goes to show you it's not exactly the same but there are def similarities. Tedder is an ass but both ladies are very talented, love AG more though

  • wow ;] love this!

  • @MysteriousNight: can i ask for your Kelly clarkson acapella?the already gone Acapella..

  • i hate it so much, don't you know that messed up already gone? it's the best song ever.

  • Kelly clarkson worked with ryan tedder on this song, so did Beyonce on Halo so its acceptable that they sound similar. Clarkson was mad at first but Already Gone has outdone Halo so she's not so upset anymore :)

  • @hames100 actually, halo reached a far higher peak on most charts throughout the world compared to already gone. so sorry, halo outdid already gone easily.

  • Beyonce's Halo is a beautiful, beautiful, unique song that is unlike most songs on the radio at the moment. Kelly Clarkson's AG is saved by its deep, heartbreaking message but the backing track, unfortunately, is kind of forgettable. If it had as strong a beat as what's on Halo (yeah, it can be argued that it's just AG's beat juiced up) then it would be an even more powerful song. If Beyonce had the original AG beat, I doubt her song would have been as big.

  • I like this remix a lot because the instrumental of "halo" for me is a way better and the voice of kelly clarkson is so beautiful.

And sincerelly I love the both songs too.

  • Easily Kelly Clarkson. Anyone with common sense would pick Kelly.

  • I love this video! It is sooo cool. The original isn't that good though.

  • i love what they did this is tight. but beyonce still has the better song

  • i like kellys song a lot better than beyonce anyway. halo is very annoying in my opinion. most of beyonce's songs are way to repetetive for my taste.

  • I'll tell you what I'm looking for... an actual MashUp of both tracks... It HAS to be doable...

I've trawled the next and so many people have (badly) just put one vocal track over another backing track... or played both songs simultaneously..and called it a mashup.

Pleeeease tell me there's a way of doing a mashup? Especially of someone of your talent?? Even if it's a dance remix?

Kelly makes me tingle all over. And I love both songs!

  • @magicpen just rip off from you tube the song in mp3.if you wanna know how to do that, google is your best friend

  • @saimir77 That's what I do :P But I use Any Video Converter. It's my best friend lol

  • You have to remember that these are pretty standard chord progressions. It's not ripping something off; it's simple musical theory.

  • both songs are good.

  • this is the best remix ever i luv it......its a good combination of both songs

  • well yer, the backing tracks are uber similar. I still think that the guy who made them....cant remember his name. stuffed up big time and should admit to it if he hasnt already

  • Ryan Tedder :]

and he hasn't, he said it was Beyoncé herself who changed the beat/melody...

  • this is beautiful!

  • uhmmm actually noone copied who they both got thier song writen from the same songwriter/producer Ryan Tedder of One Republic whihc accidently sound alike so blame him

  • And the background drum beat is the same as in Apologize by One Republic....which was made by Timbaland...so I guess Timbaland teached Ryan that!!

  • @adriana20222 It was just produced by Timbaland. It was still written by Ryan Tedder

  • @PiinkDiino Damn you Ryan Tedder!

  • One song is so full of hope (Halo) and the other is so sad (Already gone)... what a contrast! It expresses different feelings altogether.

I dun care if the beat & notes sound similar. Comon so many songs in the world can be played with the G note. Isn't there an evolution of song on youtube that proofed that? So as long as it's a good song, (which these 2 are), that's good enough for me.

  • @lekristajojo and @mzholleewood i agree with you guys completely. you took the words right out of my mouth.

  • maybe beyonce didn't copy kelly maybe her producers/songwriters did...?

but artists do it all the time.

    no biggie.

    :)

  • Kelly didn't copy Beyonce... :)

Already Gone was written in 2007.

    Halo was written in 2008.

Kelly had been planning for All I Ever Wanted for a looooooong time!

  • @SpearsProductions yu tell em ! LMFAOO.

  • @miaka697

    hahaha ryan tedder, no talent??

are you serious? do you really know who he is?!

if he wanted he could of sang these songs himself and made them even better, (he actually did, search them) and got allllll the money, but no. he shared with others.

    thats talent.

  • I love onerepublic! He wrote good songs.

  • I like already gone better than Halo

  • uhhh maybe its because both songs "already gone" and "halo" were written by RYAN TEDDER!

  • @DEATHDEALER224 which makes Ryan Tedder have no talent. If he couldn't come from the same sound.

  • Okay, all you retards that think these two songs sound the same need to get your heads checked! Just because a song goes with the same beat of another song, doesn' t mean they are the same... This remix proves it! 90% of the song goes off key with the harmonies of the other!

  • prove your point, bro! I don't what u r talking about.

  • Prove my point? Are you deaf? The point where Clarkson sings "I didn't want us to burn out. I didn't come here to hurt you now I can't stop" does not go with the melody of the part when Beyonce sings "It's like I've been awakened. Every rule I had you breakin. It's the risk that I'm takin'. I ain't never gonna shut you out" Notice how the background music sounds off key at this point? This is just one of many examples. Proof enough?

  • LOL. That's enough! I didn't really pay that full attention to the lyric, but since you stated it like a pro, I take it as a precise critique. LOL

  • both songs are played on the same chords, i tested on the piano if u only mastered one of it its easy to master the other one both songs are nice

  • the second chord is diffrent.

  • Thank you for knowing what you're talking about. I'm glad someone can tell.

  • yea its on the E not B sorry for ma bad

  • its all good:)

  • its cuz the same person wrote both the songs.ha

  • Blame the "ARTIST" who should write their own music!!!!

  • the stupid prducer is to blame! even though i like both songs, i hate the producers for doing that and making everyone that beyonce stole kelly's song or that kelly stole beyonce's song

  • of course she didn't steal it

  • Its sounds the same becuz the guy from one republic wrote both Songs and the producer u a similar concept in the beats

  • it sounds the same like HALO but halo has clapping

  • yea i thought the same thing. i was like why does this song sound like halo? haha its has the same song structure

  • yup yup it was Ryan Tedder that made this mess =/

  • good (:

  • your absolutly right about that stupid producer... and BTW; kelly had that song first.

she had it on her album aand beyonce liked it.

    that's the way it went

  • @ashleydebest

U R WRONG!!!! IT WAS THE STUPIS PRODUCER WHO WANTED TO SELL HIS STUPID SONG AND TO DO SO HE SOLD IT TO THE 2 BEST SINGER AVER

BEYONCE AND KELLY SO KELLY HAD IT FIRST BUT THEN THE PRODUCER CAME TO BEYONCE AND SOLD IT TO HER BY THAT TIME KELLY HAD RELEASED HER ALBUM WITH HALO AND BEYONCE 2 SO ITS THE STUPID PRODUCER TO BLAMO NOT BEYONCE OR KELLY

  • i blame nobody BUT the Stupid proucer read my message (carefully) again

  • I did the same thing. I started singing remember those walls i builtt... and it was another song! ahaha...but I love bothh!!!!!!1

  • Wow this is great! nice work. When I clicked on it I didn't think it would be this smooth. Amazing job!

  • the very very very first time I heard the original "Already Gone" (not this version)

i started singing "remember those walls I build.." then i was like WTF? but after i heard this song a few times, i love it better then Halo.

yes, both originals sound almost exact.

  • I want you to know, you couldn't of loved me better. But I want you to move on, so I'm already gone.

best line EVER in a love song.

  • It's not "of." It's " 've." Learn to spell.

  • what r u talking about????

  • When you said "couldn't of"

  • I spelt it correctly, look at my comment again

  • Yeah, it's supposed to be "have" or " 've."

  • Omg, I forgot you were my English teacher!

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • i like kelly's better. she is so talented... i have seen her in concert and she just blows you away with her voice!

  • NOT KELLY's FAULT! If you want someone to blame, blame that asshole Ryan Tedder!

  • its unfortunate that this Mr. Tedder guy sold the musical score to both Beyonce and Kelly without them knowing. Both are amazing songs but I cant listen to one without thinking of the other.

  • i have the same eye color as her! behind these hazel eyes lol

  • Although Halo was released first, Already Gone was recorded first. Halo was also first given to Leona Lewis as a single but didnt make the album and was later given to Beyonce. Kelly's record company made Already Gone a single and although she arugued against it, it was out of her hands. As a music industry major I know she wasnt lying when she said that bcuz they do that like seriously they do. But I love both versions and even did Beyonce's on my page here on Youtube.

  • wow it blends great!

  • Well. They sound alike but why do people need to make such a big deal about it? Both artists are great and did a really good job on these songs. Do you all honestly want to lose one of these songs? Don't you rather appreciate how good both sounds? Well I do.

  • @mzholleewood I know right!!! like this world is so full of corrupted mean stupid ppls always judging!! GOSH

  • @mzholleewood i agree

  • both are good songs

  • Well. Kelly made it great with that song, that's all it matters. I prefer Kelly's version =D

  • It's not their faults the same guy wrote both songs and used the same back beat and Kelly apoligized and didn't even want to put this on her soundtrack cuz its similar so it's not Kelly's fault

  • They sound alike but are very different in their own unique way!!!!! Those comment about copying each other. Just stop!!!! :'[

  • Woahhh`

  • The piano in this is beautiful. I know that it is from Beyonce's song but it works out so well. They should get together and redo the song.

  • omg this happened with pixie lott and amy whinehouse. kelly clarkson & beyonce's backtracks for these songs are the same. duh!

  • funny how kelly continues on being accused of ripping off the song when beyonce has not said a word about anything. Beyonce song was written and recorded after kellys. why doesnt she explain herself?

  • LoL! Don't explain yourself til his/her slow ass.

  • what the fuck can't you understand?!!

LOOOK AT THE DAMN INFO BESIDES THE VIDEO!

DONT dare to debate this again unless you are sure of your knowledge!

  • It's funny how people do not understand what you're trying to say.

By the way I'm loving this!

  • I'm sorry, but I am offended

It said HALO REMIX,not THE ORIGINAL SONG!

    :P

  • @MysteriousNight Don't be offended MysteriousNight. First ask yourself "What would Sir Mix-alot do?"

  • the producer admitted to giving them the same beat correct me if im wrong, but i think kelly clarkson song came out about a year earlier than beyonce's halo.

  • lol

  • Can you put on a link or something please ITS REALLY GOOD

  • did u notice both songs start with the word "remember"

  • this is beautiful, the harmony is insane!!

i like it better than the original

  • they do sound the same so no duh this would fit

  • I love this remix it was my 31 year old dads funeral song:(

  • @ChamberCullen93 Im sorry. :(

  • you fucking asshole they didnt hate their dad it just hits their heart and makes them remember how great they were, you heartless fuck.

  • nice! haha

  • LOL THAT'SS GOOD!

  • I thought that too, the first time I heard it.

But they're to different singers, both of them good.

I don't know who's my favourite but both songs are great :)

  • nice remix better than alot of em

  • Yah. It's not her fault that her song sounds the same. But can't blame her song writer either...he did come up with A nice melody. Anyway this isn't the first of many songs that sound alike..nice mash up.

  • Kelly looks REALLY pretty in the picture. (: Her eyes are amazing. A nice shade of copper-y hazel.

    <3 xoxo.

  • so nice remix

  • so nice remix

  • have da same counts n besides that's the same producer who worked with beyonce

  • sounds like Kanye should run up to Kelly while she is talking and intterupt her and start to talk about this. "Sorry, Kelly, your good and all, but....HALO IS THE BEST SONG EVER!! EVER! Just saying."

  • LOL

  • LMFAO...that's a good one.

  • it's the same music with different words...and the two version it's so great...the beyonce's version is important in a moment of my life...but i like the voice of kelly......

  • y a and this isnt the first one this was done months before this dude tried

  • Technically...Beyonce and Kelly Clarkson had the same writer...Kelly didn't "steal" Beyonce's song Halo, matter of fact, the guy who wrote it fucked up really bad and made two songs that sounded almost the same...

  • so they have the same beat? so that makes it the same song?

  • wow this sounds so much better but with Ft. Brian on another vid, then it would be perfect!

  • kelly clarksons song beyonce stole it!

  • i like halo a LOT more..

    beyonce <3

  • If the same person wrote both songs, how would it be stealing? Just a thought.

  • Written for different labels. It's been done before (being sued for your own music I mean)

  • i love them both kelly and beyonce !

  • This actually way better with halo's music!

  • The songwriter, Ryan Tedder, wrote both of these songs. thats why they sound the same and or similar.

  • hey this sounds really cool. u should provide a download link.

plus a lot of songs sound the same. why do people pick on these two?

  • lol get outta here

  • lmao, there's so many annoying Beyonce fans; its hilarious. XD

  • i like it cool

  • <3 it!

  • What has Glee done to us that we're all mash-up obsessed lately? I like this though

  • i love the two songs but there better when the two songs are together its great and kelly didnt steal it

  • wtf except they're in different keys

  • thats only cuz they have changed it in thsi remix, the real versions keys are pretty much the exact same.

  • LOL sounds just like the original

that's a good pic of her
