When I try to save a game it's not possible and it sais: "Free up disk space and try again".

Now the AoE FAQ sais: "The install program failed to put a shortcut on the desktop. Probably your own shortcut mistakenly directs to the .exe file on the CD drive instead of the harddisk. Redirect the shortcut."

I don't get it does anyone know what to do?

@GamerL33t4 Haha yeah I already got that, but the problem is that my hard drive is not even nearly full. So there is another problem which makes my computer think that the hard drive is full. But I don't know how to solve that.

@konbonkon I've gotten the same saving issue too. What I did was go to the Age of Empires II folder (where age2_x1, AI, Campaign... folders are located) and create a folder named SaveGame (one word) and it's done. Hope it works for you too.

@Theonemadeforgames you can always use virtual pc =D or get XP PC from for $50 at a old comp store =D It doesn't require much ram.
