Every time you do a fighting game review you start with the same "I'm not good at this type of games" and never take the time to research the game (not even to answer your own question about the exclusive characters for example).

You're one of my favorite channels in terms of entertainment but there's absolutely no relevant info about the game on this "review".

The X-Arcade is also a terrible joystick for fighting games (horrible PCB, horrible converters, horrible button layout)

The game is ok. The soundtrack is amazing but it's recycled from EX 1 and EX2, the gameplay has some nice changes. but I really wished those two characters from EX 1 to come back but they never returned. They are Allen snider and Blair Dame.

I happen to own SFEX 1 2 & 3 and I think this game is 10 times more fun then 3rd Strike OE! I think Street Fighter 4 made focus attacks from this game and Street Fighter X Tekken is taking elements from this game also.

The soundtrack for the original EX was absolutely brilliant. Most of it was re-used in this game. While there are doubters, EX and EX3 were gems. Some of the characters, Garuda especially, are excellent and would have been wonderful in the main Street Fighter canon.

I believe Arika, the developer of the EX series, has the rights to the series and its characters. It would be terrific to see a new EX game now, though, especially with all the progress that has been made graphics-wise since 2000.

I love this game, I still have it. Of course it isn't better than the 2D SF games but is fun. It even have a 4 player multiplayer mode that every one fights at the same time.

CGR should make their own game. Classic Mortal Couch Combat. Where you choose a reviewer and fight up to the end boss - Dr 8 Ball. An evil maniac hell bent on world domination, isn't that always the way? Random uppercuts would cause Heyzoos the Coked Up Chicken to pop up in the corner and spout random sh*t.

Oh, and they could have a loading game like old Namco titles, but instead of Galaga, it could be WindSquid.

I know with fighting games in particular gameplay is probably the most important, but the looks of the game is what draws most people in. That's why creators of games like SSF4 and MK9 have put so much effort into their character models, and stages.

May not look great today, but hell, it was fun to play. Gotta love Skullomania. My favourite was Garuda, totally bad ass. Capcom totally threw those characters from EX through the window. You see awful characters like C.Viper and Hugo appearing on other non SF games while a whole bunch of cool EX characters are left in the cold.

It's probably been said before.... but I think Street Fighter 4 was pretty much the cumulative sequel to every Street Fighter series they had going before it: regular Street Fighter 1 - 3, Street Fighter Zero/Alpha 1-3, and Street Fighter EX 1 - 3. This game was clearly rushed to meet the PS2 release date. Other than Ace the customisable character, there are no new characters in this. In fact, some characters from previous EX titles aren't in this at all! Akuma was killed off in this series and Allen and Blaire were mysteriously moved to "Fighting Layer", an obscure Japanese title.
