  • im 6'1 180 pounds. im trying to go for defensive end, I have some speed. This guy is good though.

  • that is a big boy but he still has great speed and strength

  • he has no speed its not all u need to be a defensive end cause i am but speed is very important

  • he looks exactly like me except im a freshmen and im 6,0 190 same speed as him i have 27 tackles 3 sacks and 1ff 7 games in is that good?

  • lafayette high school? same high school L.T. attended?

  • im a defensive end its fun tackling the quarter back

  • he comez off the ball too high

  • beasting song for a beasting athlete

  • This guy doesn't impress me at all. His top speed is pretty good but it takes him forever to reach it. He's not explosive at all, and I didn't see a single solo tackle. He's pretty light for 6'5" too. i think he should just go with an academic scholarship

  • what are you guys talking about? he is a very good d end with descent speed, size, and plays extremely smart.

  • meh, hes ok but he looks pretty unathletic and needs better cordination and speed. Needs to learn how to run as well and get his pad height lower. Our O line would rip this kid apart.

  • he isnt fast enough , but with his gpa and act he could probably get an academic scholarship somewhere lol, did u go up against anyone who could block?

  • Most of the clips are of a guy missing a block on you or your just not gettin blocked at all so you make the tackle. You are EXTREMELY slow off the ball. Good music though.

  • yo when u took the inside gap was it instinct or da playcall?

  • as all u should know the main job for a DE is outside containment, and i saw many times #85 crash in. some of the times the outside backer did set up but alot of the time he just crashed in and thats a big NO NO!you cant always get the sack or the tackle, and in highschool you may be able to pull this off from time to time, but in college if you loose that containment haha good luck trying to catch that back who proly runs a 4.4, 4.5 forty. all around a very good DE

  • it's been a little over a year since i played d end in highschool so i don't remember this f'n term, but when your tackle reads a.. uh.. pull?.. when he goes straight to the linebacker, you're supposed to go straight down the line.. everything else was good except that.. best of luck in college, man

  • u go inside way to much

  • Dude u remind me so much of myself im not jokin...im 6'4 207lbs as a junior and made all county and all conference this year but im tryin to weigh in about 240 for my senior to try and make it D1 and if i could figure out how to put highlights on my cpu from disks ill show u that we have like the exact playing style.

  • Do you have any 40 yard dash videos? Or vertical leap video's?

  • I think he'll be better when his skills/coordination catches his size. He is obviously strong, but should probably work on speed. With his size, he would more likely play receiver in college, but needs a 40 speed of no slower that 4.7 (preferrably faster)

  • If when we start next season and I don't have seizures I will be better than that. Still good though u better than the people at my school.

  • Is it just me or should he be getting lower on his tackles?!?!?!?

  • oh yeh much lower what kind of kids he playing against.....if he doesnt get low he will get ran slap over

  • not only in his tackles, in every contact

  • kind of hard to get low when ur 6'5 lol... jus sayin

  • HOLY SHIT hes good. im #80 DE

  • DAM! hes so good.

im 14 years old going into highschool and playing football for the first time ever. I realy want to play a d end. You are my hero:D im going to try to be just like you when I play :]

  • Yeaa he has a little bit of a coordination problem but hes fast off his knuckles and he has a hell of a push, he doesnt have the weight for division 1A yet but he has some time he is 235, gain about 20 or so more pounds, keep that speed and work on staying low which looks like the biggest problem then he'll be well on his way.

  • look man honestly, if you want to be any good, you need to get quicker, faster, STRONGER, BIGGER, and overall more coordinated. Honestly most of your hilights were clips of when you got blocked and the running back broke it but he kept running sideways and you caught him. Thats not good. Just work on your technique and hit the weight room every day and run sprints and agilities and stuff because you have a gift (your height) so use it well

  • his 230 thats fine for his hight and age

  • runnig sideways? thats called backside persuit....obviously your not verycaught up on your shit..cuz his job is to go down the line and wait for cutback and slam a dude.....which is what he does

  • hes okay im 6 5 nd i way 280 im only a sophmore i neeed to get bigger and faster do

  • he plays like another linebacker

  • he's good... he plays a little better than what i do...and im barely 16 but that's not the point..... i love the fact that even if the play doesn't go on his side he still goes for it.. that's what is all about.... tackle tackle tackle no matter what!

  • nice man keep it up

  • hehe im number 84 tighend and defensive end like hi but his #85

  • good job!

  • He's good, he runs to the ball

  • He's good, runs to the ball

  • nice height but doesnt have weight much to play Division 1 schools

  • i was suprised you were as good as you were. For as lanky as you are youre not that bad. If you beefed up you could be a force

  • He Plays D-2 Football at Truman State University BTW

  • i love how everyone thinks that they know what it takes to make this kid better, when actually more than half of the critiques are soo far away from the truth and what he should do...trust me I play DE in the Pac-10...but i do like everyones support for this kid I wonder if I wound up somewhere

  • you gotta be physical and not arm tackle if ur gunna play at the next level dude, but other than that u got it

  • He has potential but he is to Lanky for the position. His foot work is not that good, chop blocks could be a serious problem for this kid. With his hight and some work on his speed, he could be a beast at tight end.

  • im 10 im a good defensive end i made 10 tackles in my first game but he's just good at it!!

  • dude in 1:20 that was a nasty stiff arm

  • THIS GUY IS SO GOOD WOW

  • WOW!!! at your weight u got some serious speed! And not the hardest of hitters? please, i play D/end... lol u do ur job and then some... STUD... keep it up

  • what song is this?

  • different games

  • Lol the guy on the second tackle I think its the qb and he is like wtf?

  • your not bad u need to get more muscle, and idk work on your run stopping cause most of the plays on there you r unblocked soo idk im playin d end at wsu next year so just keep working on getting stronger and faster

  • hes not really that fast but when ur that big i guess its hard lol

  • my brother...

  • Nice explosion on the line. Lowering your stance would help you much on the tackles, but its kinda hard at 6,5 lol

  • the only positives i really saw was size and the fact that he had enough heart to not give up on plays, other than that he needs to work on controlling the hands of the blockers to keep them off him, and to stay lower when taking on fbs

  • wow wasnt that amazed on account that u he dosent look fast enough and right of the snap u go straight up against a real tackle or college level tackle ur live bait so if u go to the next level expext to be killed

  • He hits a little to high.. but has good vision when it comes to following the ball.. I also like his explosiveness

    lacks technique

  • I play d-Tackle at a lafayette high in lousisiana hah but yea you are pretty damn good.. I mean not the biggest hitter buit you have some fuckin skill in getting to where the ball is and def have the ability and brains to follow the ball.. a DE making a play 40 yards towards his touchdown??? unheard of lol what grade you in?

  • i heard of 'em. The mustangs. Ya'll beat my uncle's brenham team in the '91-92 season. It was a good one, 27-28. Anyways nice higlights u gon be tha shit one day

  • Explosive off the line, but I don't see as much Open-Field speed as I think I should be. Good Vid man.

  • This guy makes plays! Im DE to, living in Finland ;D

  • all i can say is your one weakness is that your running upfield when its a run play thats not a good idea play at the o lines heels and you are one solid player.

  • if ur defensive end r u aloud 2 grab the ball if it bounces off the ground and run with it fot the TD and also i need 2 know ere defensive end is cause im gonna b playen it so i kinda need tips lol so any tips would b great thanx

  • Good size and pretty decent a point of attack. Not super explosive off the ball and is too high out of his stance (common for taller Defensive Ends). Also, needs to work on his separation from blocks because he'll struggle vs big/stronger TEs and Tackles at the next level.

However those are all things that he'll improve on with coaching and experience. Seems to have good instincts for the ball. Looks like a solid DII or I-AA type kid.

  • Did anyone else see where the referee on the left sideline tag down the player that was on the ground at 1:25 in the video? lol. Overall this is a really talented football player, Matt can get up the field quick and stop the offense.

  • this guy is a beast

  • i like this kid alot better at DE than tight end, hes good at both, but he stands out on defense.

  • i bin playing rugby for most of my life in england, but ive recently joined a football team. one of the few that are in england and i cant wait to start playin DE looks fuckin fun

  • play middle linebacker if you have end to end field speed best hitting position on defense...i play it for Bullard High in Fresno CA

  • I play defensive end too, but in Poland ;) could you tell what is that soundtrack ?

  • man you are one skilled player. I play defensive end myself at Katy taylor High school in Texas. You've probably never heard of them but I'm sure you've heard of our rivals Katy High school if you live in Texas.
