  • nice. good brute strength. Consider lighter clubs to develop form for safety.

  • Impressive strength there. I believe many could do it but would have to climb the learning curve first. I used to do these with a 45 and did them with a higher arc and down and out in front more, with control, so I guess you have to step it up a bit ;o)

  • @presadog100. Yeah, anyone could do it IF they put in the time and effort to work up to it, its that simple.I am glad you can do them too. You will notice this video was done some 2 years ago.... I am much futher along these days and work with 80-120lb clubs on the regular now. Thanks for watching.

  • @irishclubswinger Bruiser training was an eye opener for me and I wish more would try, as you say. At that time, I was using very heavy barbells and dumbells yet the Bruiser stopped me in my tracks quick, for a while anyway even two handed work was extremely challenging. Keep up the awesome work, your vids are very impressive. Let's see a vid of double clean to order and press, Bruisers. I manged this not so smoothly once or twice. I have no doubt you could do it.

  • not easy, but its awsome!

  • HI,

I'm just wondering if you ever injured your arms doing this type of swing.

I think I tore my triceps last friday. doing this move. I heard that popping, crunching sound while swinging.

I'm just wondering if you hurt yourself doing this move and if you did, how long did it take to regain full strength.

Thanks. Your videos are just motivating.

  • I have tweaked my shoulder but never tore a tricep muscle. Now I have heard popping and crunching sounds while swinging, but no pain. I had an injury and when I healed my left shoulder and hip had a lot of adhesions that came apart when I started mace and club swinging, some of them made very loud pops. When I tweaked my shoulder it took about a week and half before I could swing as heavy. How does your tricep feel now?

  • Is wooden meels are more difficult to control than steel ones or no?

  • A 45lb wooden meel is going to be bigger then the 45lb steel or rubber one, so that does play a factor, but not much more then a slight adjustment to your swinging style, the weight is the same of course.

  • i've found that to be the only downside to CB work-- even veteran hands can get torn up quick if not careful!

    thanks for the inspiration.

  • Kevin, your one arm shield cast is inspiring. Are you planning on doing an alternating shield cast with the 45 pounds Clubbells? Also have you ever done the shield cast with wooden meels or jori? Your video has inspired me to push my limits. I currently am doing alternating shield casts with 15 pound wooden meels for 15 to 20 reps per side which waxes pale compared to you 45 pound Clubbell swings. I look forward to seeing you do the 100 pound swing.

  • I do double alternating shield casts with 45lb clubbells currently, I'll do a vid this weekend or next week. Thank you, I was inspired by guys on youtube when I decided to get strong again, I am happy to do the same for others. Nothing is pale in comparison, I don't think so, your drive and ambition is a fire that warms and inspires everyone. We all start small and grow. I did at least. I am working on swings with a 80lb club now, so 100lb club I believe will be in future :)

  • that is impressive!!!

  • Thank you very much!

  • As said below unless you have handled a 45lb clubbell you don't realise what a great effort that is.

  • Holy shit. That's inspiring.

  • Dude i would love to see you in mma. With that kind of strength you are gonna tear you

    opponents into bits!

  • Thank you! I've done some fights here and there and looking to make it a more serious pursuit.

  • Man dude that is badass. Most people do not understand the diffculty in such a feat. Leverage can turn even a small poundage into and intense workout.BTW have you ever heard of Steve Justa? he describes a insane levrage lift known as "The Shove Lift" in his book. Anyway nice job man. Thor smiles upon thee.

  • Wow! Thank you for such the compliment. Yes levering and club/mace swinging has been a forefront of my strength training and has produced some good results. Steve's name does ring a bell. I LOVE shovel lifts, I have a vid of me doing a variation called a pump handle lift with the macebell, like a plow and shovel lift mixed. I do a shovel lift with a full squat and I've lost 40lbs doing them since I made this video.

  • Yea I saw that vid, very cool. Have you ever tried the 80lb clubbell that tourqeathletic has on their site? That thing is a monster.

  • No, I home hade 100lb club and can get some swings, cleans and shoulder casts out of it. If I am not careful with it, my hands will get torn open.

  • I put the name, "Jake", but meant, KEVIN. I was listening to you say Jake's name while I was typing! lol

  • LOL. No Worries :)

  • Somehow I need to include you in our DVD, but I'm not sure how yet. Meanwhile, keep it up.

  • Man.. you are unstoppable. I hope to be at your level someday. Once things settle down, I'll be back on the grind.

  • Jake, you are my friend and an inspiration to all of us here at CSW. Eric sends his respects and wishes you the best of luck in the future.

  • Thank you :) I will let Jake know :) lol. I thank you Rob, you are my friend and you and CSW serve as an inspiration for me too!
