The Lumiere Brothers were among the earliest pioneers of motion pictures. While Thomas Edison was working to perfect the motion picture projector in the USA, the Lumieres were working on their own version. Edison was first to achieve success, but was too cheap to pay the extra few dollars for the European patents. When he toured Europe with his new invention, the Lumiere Brothers found the solution to their problems in Edison's machine and patented their own projector.
@freakahurt The AFI Life Achievement Award was established by the Board of Directors of the American Film Institute on February 26, 1973 to honor a single individual for his or her lifetime contribution to enriching American culture through motion pictures and television. Do you seriously think they needs an AFI?
@iconaus In a first time time the soundtrack was external the movie and played in the cinema at real time... but @luke4428 there was... I don't know if this soundtrack was the original but it's very look like the fancy of the time... (sorry my English but I am Italian)
@luke4428 There was like a symphonic playing for the movie. I don't know If this one was on the cinema but if it was, The while the movie was running the symphonic used to play at the same time , Some times below the screen . It's amazing ain't it?? :D

In this film we can see the "disjointing skeleton". The Lumière brothers filmed a play with a classic Victorian trick marionette.

luke4428 3 months ago
@luke4428 it isn't the original soundtrack, all movies were silent at that time. I don't know where this soundtrack comes from
iconaus 3 months ago
@iconaus I know that but why does all of the videos of this silent movie start with a piano and then this starts?
