This was the last Digimon series I watched on Fox Kids. Never got to finish watching it, but it was kind of interesting that it was set in another world where Digimon was a fictional game. After this I kind of stopped keeping up with the series.
I can't believe people stopped watching at this season just because Tai and the others weren't in it, blah, blah, blah, This was the best one in my opinion. With the darker tone, darker story, also the use of the cards for the first time in the series made it amazing.
@Pegashy123 I also feel the use of cards made the tamers more involved in the fighting, I mean, their main power in the first 2 seasons was to make their Digimon evolve faster. Other than that they were useless. in the third season they could do that plus it gave the Digimon abilities and upgrades they couldn't get without a partner - and of course in their mega forms they became one with their partners making them even more useful. XD
@FR3DKRU3G3R Exactly, they helped the Digimon out by giving them power-ups and stuff and Bio-Merge was awesome. In the other ones all they had to do was scream their names and they would digi-volve or win the fight, LOL.

@Pegashy123 If you're in the UK you were forced to stop watching it. CITV stopped after only 3 episodes of season 3 (aired the same week as 02's finale) and Fox Kids stopped at the end of that season, season 4 never aired in the UK to this day and Data Squad arrived three years late on Kix.
@Pegashy123 I agree. It was perfect because as I matured and got older I still loved Digimon but I just wanted something "darker." This had a much more serious tone to it. Yeah, it was different, but change is good. Though after this season I think it went downhill a little :/
I just realized something. Some of the ideas from this season were carried over to Digimon Frontier. ex. Sliding D-tectors and becoming a digimon, even the "leader = goggles" legacy has been carried on as well. lol
I always loved Tamers and its' characters. Impmon resenting his joke status by the tamers and how he gets even with them was absolutely brutal. Then there's Jeri, the most realistic personality to date, with her problems accepting reality since her mother passed away and her complete disassociation with the world after Leomon's death showing how death and grief can REALLY mess a kid up. Only things that Tamers did wrong was Ryo and the D-Reaper itself, which were both handled awkwardly at best.
why isn't any digimon seasons ever repeated on tv for i would love to watch repeats of them and it will show kids of today that we had way better cartoons than them

I'd stand under a tree just to have a shadow on the half side of my face when I'd swipe my card in the digivice and then pretend Ranamon transformed. And I thought I was so cool and then the guys I played with would mimic me. Oh the greatness of elementary school...
This season was actually pretty good. And, the remixed intro was a huge improvement. It actually gave me something to look forward to. Still, I wish that they would have at least change the English titles more. That didn't happen until Savers (Data Squad).

And the first two seasons with Max and May were fine, but when their voice actors changed, it wasn't the same and ultimately the creators kinda lost their groove. (Didn't the show get new scriptwriters and artists?) Ever since the third season with Max and May, the show kinda went downhill. Now they have Dawn who annoys the crap out of everyone. T^T
@FrogsRuleInBlue Actually, they finished up Sinnoh awhile back. Dawn went home and Brock left to become a doctor. Now they have Ash travelling in Unova with Iris and Cilan, which has actually been kinda refreshing.

And of course he's not gonna know some things when new pokemon and battle strategies enter the show. He's only 11, WHICH btw is mathematically impossible cuz he should be like 24 by now, considering how long the show's been going. Or is this like a Simpsons thing and they don't age?
@FrogsRuleInBlue He just goes for the Pokemon without battling like he did with Caterpy at the beginning. Iris calls him a "kid" and he never defend himself. Also Ash is supposed to be 14 or 15 but they revamped him to 10 again in this season. If he travels by months not years then that's possible. It could still be the same year as it was Ash left at the beginning. Each season could be a month of traveling not years. Time in the world of Pokemon is different than in our world.
@allhailfrieza But by the end of the very first season, I remember Misty saying "I can't believe it's been a whole year" when they were on their way for Ash to battle Giovanni. So he was at least 11 in the second season. And I honestly don't think each season was supposed to be in the span of a month cuz they were WALKING most of that time, meaning it should've taken much longer by the end of each season. Also, they kept getting distracted and wasting time by getting involved with random things.

@allhailfrieza That makes sense though, if you think about it, cuz there are new generations of kids, so it's like they have to go back and explain everything all over again and make it look like they don't know anything, so that kids can learn everything with the characters. I looked it up and Pokemon as a show beat Digimon by just a couple of months. However, there are some Digimon that came BEFORE Pokemon simply because Pokemon has been broadcast a lot longer and there's only so much producers can come up with and based off of real animals.
i freaking HATE IT when people who like pokemon rip on digimon and say its a rip off or a copy when they dont know anything about it and the only thing most of them use is "oh well there names got mon in it" or "pokemon, Digimon, anyway's if you watch digimon or play digimon games you'll will know what a PLOT is, i mean wtf whats pokemon in know 13 season and ash hasnt grown up and his pikachu still week wtf well anyways if you like pokemon its cool but dont rip on digimon untill you see both,
Pokemon only started returning any semblance of character development until the Sinnoh saga. In between the original series and the Sinnoh saga, the Advanced Generation, isn't very good. Pokemon has just been throwing everything against the wall and hopes something sticks with its viewers.
@64cody Yeah it was the best, then it went down hill, plus the ending of season 3 made me cry when i was little. Now it makes me sad now when I'm grown.
Lol this and season 4 where the only Digimons that i can remember the most. I also loved the old shows that dont come out anymore like Code Lyoko, Xiaolin Showdown, Fosters Home, Teen Titans, Avatar etc. WHICH is why i am posting these episodes in my channel! IM SERIOUS! im posting all these series ( idk about Digimon though ) in my channel, my favorite is Code Lyoko, so i have most of those episodes than any other series... so please go check it out! I don't know why but Digimon seemed to have the biggest affect on people who watched it as a kid compared to other shows even if they didn't have that great a franchise such as pokemon or yugioh this show seems to have left us with

number 4 (frontier) threw me off and, since then, I have yet to check out any other of the Digimon series
And as Reyahwind said, go ahead and hate the english dub, but many of us American anime fans grew up with this. Without this so called "shitty" theme, we might not have been able to remember such a great past time. Musically- it adds the right effect for the show. lyrically- cheesy as hell.
@shadowtsunami Frontier and Data Squad arent as bad as people make them out to be. They're alright in my opinion. I dont HATE any of the Series. Some are just better than others.
@TheGloryXros the digimon, the characters, and the evolution themselves (wth double warp digivolve LOL), the digi devices look like cig packs, and wasn't that appealing to me.
@shadowtsunami Well, I guess....but still, there's more to it than just how they Digivolve & the way the Digivices look. And the Warp Digivolution & Double Warp Digivolution terminology makes sense, if you watched Adventure & understand the basic logic of it.
And besides, plot & character development should get you more.
@VisualVisu2011 Very well said. I grew up with this as well, it is a deeply nostlgic part of my childhood. Im sure I have seen every episode of season 1, maybe every one of season 2, I missed some digiworld from season 3, and a boatload of the last half of the 4th, including the ending. No idea how it ends. Last I know is Lucemon in chaos form in the trailmon station in the human world, digging upwards.
@VisualVisu2011 I suggest you watch season 5. i'm an old Digimon fan and I loved it. The protagonist is really funny. I don't know, I think you should check it out.
this season was a bit dark and violent but to me a little 8 year old kid IT KICKED ASS i am 19 soon but i don't care digimon will always be my favorite anime of all time
I don't care about the haters of the english dub- this is what I grew up with and to say I loved the shows is an understatement. This series somehow resonated with me the most but it's hard to determine which season I like most; 1 or 3, personally I thought 2 wasn't as good but to see season 1's characters again was really nice.
heres to the first 4 -raises glass- 1 was the best, 2nd was a good follow up, 3 was badass, and 4 was epic.. may they rest in piece among the great cartoons of the past.. it'll never be as good as they used to be

Pokemon only started returning any semblance of character development until the Sinnoh saga. In between the original series and the Sinnoh saga, the Advanced Generation, isn't very good. Pokemon has just been throwing everything against the wall and hopes something sticks with its viewers.

Call me crazy but I barely remember Digimon. Was it an offshoot of Pokemon? I remember they came out with some cards but they didn't fare too well.

Lol this and season 4 where the only Digimons that i can remember the most. I also loved the old shows that dont come out anymore like Code Lyoko, Xiaolin Showdown, Fosters Home, Teen Titans, Avatar etc. WHICH is why i am posting these episodes in my channel! I don't know why but Digimon seemed to have the biggest affect on people who watched it as a kid compared to other shows even if they didn't have that great a franchise such as pokemon or yugioh this show seems to have left us with

Seasons 1 - 3 were the best to us old time digi-destine
number 4 (frontier) threw me off and, since then, I have yet to check out any other of the Digimon series
And as Reyahwind said, go ahead and hate the english dub, but many of us American anime fans grew up with this. Without this so called "shitty" theme, we might not have been able to remember such a great past time. Musically- it adds the right effect for the show. lyrically- cheesy as hell.

it totally went against the entire meaning of "digimon".
You're supposed to have Digi-Destine and Digimon... not the Digi-Destine being the Digimon
I guess maybe they warned us in season 3 with the Biomerge to Gallantmon, Sakuyamon (<3), and Megagargomon.
I still love the first 3 cause they were true to the main plot.

Why? Cuz it does do VERY INTERESTING THINGS:
1. Gives a LOT of character development to the DIGIMON for a change
2. Gives us main characters that DONT HAVE DIGIMON PARTNERS, yet are still important
3. Gives, in my opinion, the most interesting version of the Digital World
4. Has the BEST MUSIC, ANIMATION, AND BATTLES
5. It's a WAR. Digimon fight, and MANY DIE.

@shadowtsunami Well, I guess....but still, there's more to it than just how they Digivolve & the way the Digivices look. And the Warp Digivolution & Double Warp Digivolution terminology makes sense, if you watched Adventure & understand the basic logic of it.
And besides, plot & character development should get you more.

Im sure I have seen every episode of season 1, maybe every one of season 2, I missed some digiworld from season 3, and a boatload of the last half of the 4th, including the ending. No idea how it ends. Last I know is Lucemon in chaos form in the trailmon station in the human world, digging upwards.

I don't care about the haters of the english dub- this is what I grew up with and to say I loved the shows is an understatement. This series somehow resonated with me the most but it's hard to determine which season I like most; 1 or 3, personally I thought 2 wasn't as good but to see season 1's characters again was really nice.
