This depends on where you are in the story. If you're supposed to be going to the floating continent, the cave near Thamasa is the best - the adamanchyts are worth 1450 exp a piece. You must use magic though. Cast vanish as well and you can go for level 99 without ever having to restore any HP. Fire is the best magic. I've gotten level 99 twice here, for both Celes and Terra, so I can get both meteor and ultima in the first world (and I have a video proving this).
You cannot use physical attacks in that cave due to adamanchyt - magic is the only way to go and both fire and osmose are best. Vanish only needs to be used once and it's permanent - you can go from level 30 to 99 without losing any HP. If you want to get level 99 even earlier, there is an area, accessible once you get the airship, where you'll find plenty of chimeras. You won't be able to use vanish for this area, but the enemies are quite weak - counterattacks will help a lot here.
I have 2 exp. eggs. When i want to level up a weak character then i'll just take Relm which is my magic user and drop bombs. We need to base this off of exp per hour/time and not exp per kill or the speed of the kills.
2 exp eggs? As far as I'm aware, there's only one, found in the area where you get the airship in the second world. If I had 2, I could go from level 30 to 99 in only 40 to 50 minutes instead of 80 to 100, assuming this means 4x the exp.
@ulillillia You get a relic called a Tintanbar? It recovers HP while walking and you can bet that in the dragon coliseum and you'll get an exp. egg as the reward. I know you get 1 Tintanbar from when you have the dinner with the empire Gestrahl where you answer questions and talk to the soldiers.
Although I only get 1, it doesn't help with restoring HP that much at all. It's better and faster to just cast cure as needed (cure 3 only if the "economizer" is equipped).
only problem is i dont know how to level Gogo up b/e he cant cast magic soloing any advice people of youtube? just fight with him in a party until he is level 99..?
u can always use the vanish/doom trick on the dinosaur things and if ur using sabin use his mighty bum rush move but it might get hard if u get caught in a pincer attack so ulillillia's method is the safest by far and pretty good exp but its all considering if u have the balls to fight the dinosaurs like i did =P
Tyranosaur is not the problem - it's easy enough. It's bracosaur that's the problem. It's ultima cast means instant game over. It's "disaster" attack is a real pain too. For Umaro (the yeti) and Gogo, avoid getting those two until you've leveled up everyone else (all 12) to 99. It's just much easier that way. If you got them before this, you'll need a party of 2. Have the magic user at max level and give the exp egg to Umaro or Gogo instead. It's not as fast, however.
Solitary island? My preferred method is the desert with the cactrots and hoovers. You're better off with a single battle lasting 2 minutes for 5 magic points than 4 battles for 2 minutes for 4 magic points. Cactrots are worth 10 and hoovers are worth 5. Atma weapon with someone with high HP can easily make quick work of the hoover and cactrot, especially when combined with the "offering" relic.
hey can i ask u something? why would anyone wana reach 99lvl considering the games plot will be finished by lvl 35-40 and enemies will die easily with no problem at lvl50 , i even heard sabins last blitz comes in lvl70! who has the patience to do that? i love ff6 but it seems kinda pointless{maybe for the extra 2 dungeons but this is the psx version}, i dont want to insult you, i just dont get it
FF6 is the easiest of all the FF games. Starting with FF7, the first RPG I played where I actively got involved with and started my great interest in RPGs, I've always been after extremely high levels very early. I recall those 2 friends I associate FF6 with struggling with it. I had Terra with Fire2 in the Lete River event and was doing 7000 damage in the house fire event in Thamasa because I was in the 50's. I've got meteor and ultima in the first world, all with videos to prove it.
I have seen ur videos and know ur telinh the true about high levels and ultima, meteor, but dont u ever get bored grinding for hours upon hours? in ff6 i only grind in the magic tower in the 2 world so i can be stronger and since i dont get exp i ensure will face challenge later in the game because if theres no chalenge at all im geting real bored
P.S i forgot to ask but where do u get the exp egg?
I have high resistance to getting bored from heavy repetition, so much so that it can take days. Most may only be able to listen to the same song 20 times in a row on a long run, but I regularly get to 1000 and beyond (131,250 is my record for total plays, 52 1/4 days straight for the same song but not plays). Despite Disgaea being too easy because even level 9999 enemies can't do damage to my Laharl (miss and 0 are common), I still find the game entertaining in other ways.
@MrVideomaniak23 To the right of the chest with the 'Czarina Gown' there is a secret path in the lower part of the wall leading to a hidden room with a treasure chest containing 'Exp. Egg' in Daryl's Tomb
@ulillillia I just did the Thamasa fire scene, I went there level 25 and came out level 43 (about 1 hour). If you fight the 4 firebombs that come out of the left door you don't have to wait for random encounters, and you get about 450exp each.
The house fire event is far from the best. The best in the first world is the cave near Thamasa - a pair of adamanchyts gives 2900 exp when soloing them. The best in the second world, for soloing, is the area where you find reach frogs and mantodea. A pair of mantodeas is worth 9000-something. Soloing in the dino forest is too dangerous, given bracosaurus. By soloing, the exp egg doubles this to 18,000. Even at level 40, you can gain 2 levels in one battle!
@ulillillia Maybe it is, but since I had never played this game my best option was emulator and using the emulator you can speed up, not having the random battle actually speeds you up, really it only took me 10minutes but after speed up +1 hour clock, and you're guaranteed the same 450 exp for each of the 3 characters you have and each character has one hit kill since its a low HP enemy. I'm no expert, first time play through but from my perspective this works well.
You could dumb this process down even further by setting your cursor to memory. It should autocast your ultima for you each fight. Leaving only the need to move your character on the world map to force an encounter as your only actual controller input.
I don't like memory cursor. I tend to end up selecting something I don't want selected and it throws me off. It's the one thing I don't like about FFT - there doesn't seem to be a way to disable memory cursor.
I agree with you- ever since I was a little kid I've had to repeatedly select the spells and abilities I wanted to use, and then newer games came out and started having memory cursor- I can't get used to using it, even though it should be 'quicker' or 'easier' to use. I think it's just a problem I have with adapting to new things.
I don't think manually selecting the spells takes that much time or effort, and it keeps leveling from getting boring anyways.
I explained this in part 1 of this video (there are 3 parts ya know - part 2 explains the enemies here) - the desert where hoover and cactrot are. It's the fastest and easiest.
ok i'm right before the floating continent, i got Terra and Celes at level 60 thanks to ur 'ultima and meteor in the first world trick' in one hour because the emulator I use has a 1000% speed-up button XD so thx ur a really big help
they can 1 hit a level 8- character *faints* im almost here i got Sabin in the world of ruin, i couldnt save Cid but the scene where he dies is just incredible, my face actually got teary
You need to get lots of fish and quickly in order to do it. My case went on for 40 minutes - I was almost about to give up. The reward is an esper, golem I believe.
I don't recall what esper it was. Zoneseek? There's 2 at the auction house. 10 are forced upon you, from the story, but there's another 17 apparently optional ones.
I'm confused as to why you said you wouldn't be able to use voice in this video because it would sound just as fast/distorted as the background music due to the timelapse. Couldn't you just finalize the video and then add your voice as an additional music track on top once you'd finished editing it?
It's boring doing it that way and has low motivation. Ever wonder why videos prior to about June of 2008 almost never have it for videos of my video games? I had to use the old, slow, boring method for this. I record this live while I'm playing the game which gives the advantage of high motive. It's only when something is very hard to reproduce or I have a cold that I don't add it in.
I'm not a power gamer at all, but I'm currently playing through FF6. What party do you think is the best for playing through without taking the time to level beyond what's necessary to beat the game?
I don't really know. The final area has you split into 3 parties so you can't have just one party. I haven't reached this area yet, however so I don't know how worthy it is for leveling (and when I last played, I couldn't figure out how to return to the air ship.
I'm not aware of any RPGs made in the US. I can't tell if a game is US-made or Japanese-made. I actually thought the Sonic series was US-made, but I was surprised to find that it was Japanese-made, along with Jumping Flash. Who makes it doesn't matter - it's the game itself and its content that does matter. I don't know what Spyro, Bubsy, or Mario are though. I've played Ultima 3, but I don't know its origin. To me, it's just a game - the maker has no effect.
That's a great way of looking at things, it is true that all the games are the same in terms that they are a way for entertainment, some of us do get obsessed over them and want to know all there is to know about our favorite games though, thats why some of us, myself included, try to know all about the game developers and publishers. Also, Ultima is an american made series, but like you mention it, it doesn't really matter since theyre all games.
