If the native crinum was used as a littoral -(shoreline) plant more often, then homeowners wouldn't grumble about their site-line as they do when other beneficial plant species are installed?
A pony shovel and you would be in business there, Stephen :) Seriously though - nice job comparing the 2 Lillies. I run across the swamp lily routinely on properties so I don't see them ever being pushed out by their asian counterpart. As a landscape designer - the Crinum Lily serves as a very distinctive accent plant, despite issues with freezes and lubbers. I use the Purple Crinum more than the green leaf variety, BTW. Both are quite captivating visually, when used properly. Cheers, Bazza
