  • My favourite music of all times! Ooh, and of course, gold, money and wealth too!

  • Prohaps the most important wonder if you have a lot of cities. The money you save over time makes it possible to rush job other wonders and city improvments as well.

  • My favorite wonder....

  • Gotta love the thought:

    Free Temples

    Free Markets (wink)

    Free Libraries (oooh)

    Free Barracks (hell yeah)

    Free Granaries (food glorious food)

Free Courts (I am the law)

    Free Harbors

    Free Coastal Fortresses...

What can I say? This wonder rocks.

  • that wonder was a "must have" ... very powerful

  • I always loved the music for Adam Smith's wonder. :D

  • What is the name of the soundtrack?

  • @Zwhen The music is commonly known as "Arrival of the Queen of Sheba", composed by Händel.

  • It's definetly the most overpowered wonder in the game :)

  • @ubulunikum i thought it only affected the city it was built in :o

  • Adam Smith had a trading company?!

  • @vanaik No, Civ II often uses abstract thoughts as physical buildings housed in.

  • viel zu stark für den Erbauer,

    die Spiel-Balance kippt schlagartig!

  • this game was made by the videos that came on the disc

  • Game winner fer sure

  • An absolute must have for builders like me!

  • Too bad this wonder is not included in Civ 4

  • Gold, It makes the world go round, Adam Smith knew this, do you?

  • @Ironman1o1 Somewhere in his grave, he weeps silently since he said the bloody opposite: That gold was not real wealth and that's why mercantilism was wrong.

  • I like money.

  • I like turtles.

  • @FuckUSAEmpire there's no turtles here... sorry to disappoint

  • Civ 2 is my fav pretty much solely due to these wonder videos.

  • Dude you are teh win! I would almost play the game almost soloy geared toward getting this wonder just to hear the music.

Also thanks for putting the others up! I still think these were the best wonder completion vids. The vids for Civ 4 were cool but didn't give me goosebumps.

  • this wonder is helpful when you build market places... +1 gold per market <3

  • Or, how about: "Pays the maintenance for all city improvements which ordinarily cost one gold per turn"

  • It means any improvement that normally costs one gold per turn doesn't cost anything at all... basically you can build temples and libraries without increasing your expenditures.

  • i want to play civ II so much now...

  • Did Adam Smith even HAVE a trading company?

  • Today it's called the East India company ^^

  • Chars for the info.

  • one of the games most needed wonders.

  • could you remind us what benefit it used to give?

  • Did you even watch the video? It very clearly states it at the end...

  • the benefit was that buildings with upkeep costs of 1 gold didn't have to be paid.

  • What music is this?

  • George Frideric Handel - The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba

  • ...from the Opera Solomon !!!

  • I now love you

  • You are welcome "blushes"

    :P

  • makes me sad i never got into any civ games :(

  • It is never too late, my friend! You can get a copy of Civ II: Gold for a song and it will provide you with years of enjoyment. I still play my copy and it's almost a decade old!

  • Better yet you can buy Civilization Chronicles for 30-50€ at numerous locations and get 10 games (4 Civs, 5 add-ons, 1 card game + extras) for the price of one!

  • It's obviously Barbie Girl.

  • Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 In G by Johann Sebastian Bach

  • Bullshit. It's Arrival of the Queen of Sheba by Händel.

  • i disagree gentlemen it is the last march of nappoleon by efger josh of switzerland 1864

  • No way. It's Händel.

  • Nonsense, it's Queen!

    jk

  • Well its both of the last two...definitely Arrival (and or Entrance) of the Queen of Sheba by Handel...I used to build the wonder just to hear the song sometimes...there's a strategy.

  • NO! Piece was composed by Johann Gambolputty de von Ausfern- schplenden- schlitter- crasscrenbon- fried- digger- dingle- dangle- dongle- dungle- burstein- von- knacker- thrasher- apple- banger- horowitz- ticolensic- grander- knotty- spelltinkle- grandlich- grumblemeyer- spelterwasser- kurstlich- himbleeisen- bahnwagen- gutenabend- bitte- ein- nürnburger- bratwustle- gerspurten- mitz- weimache- luber- hundsfut- gumberaber- shönedanker- kalbsfleisch- mittler- aucher von Hautkopft of Ulm!

  • p.s. love the music, anyone know what it's called and by who?

  • one of the must haves

  • Apart from Leonardo's workshop.

  • This wonder is vital, its incredible for saving money.

  • Yeah i remeber i nearly went bankrupt, this thing saved by Arse real tim!

  • EMBOSSED!
