The first time I finall beat her I unleashed an infernal combo of wrestling moves on her. About 3 of 'em in 30 seconds or so. Cost Shinobu about 3/4 of her health. It's after that that she starts to use her killer techniques, namely the multiple sonic-sword and the rikukken of death thrust.

I used to have this narrow minded rigid preference for the blood berry . Believing it to be the main iconic weapon associated with Travis. & that although the other blades were more tech advanced, the designs were just too jap. for my taste. I've since abandoned such silliness and have grown to appreciate the Tsubaki Mark III above all the other blades. Mainly 'coz it corresponds more with story dev. (e.g.death of T.Ryu & symbolic sword hilt) and thus bears more novelty than even the b.berry.

Shinobu was my favorite boss character form the first game. I was happy to see her survive at the end of the fight and I am estatic that not only is she back for NMH2 but she is playable. I hope she still has her Sonic Sword attack.

She was so hard compared to all the other bosses. I thought i just did bad against her since she was the first boss i fought.After I beat the game (and that sir henry dick) i tried beating the game on the hardest mode thinking i'd wipe through everything. When i finally got to shinobu it took me 3 or 4 times to beat her and every other boss took me like 1 or 2 tries. She was definitely the second hardest boss next to henry. Thank god those two will be playable in NMH2.

Really? I always took down bad girl in one try. Except for that one time where she did the instakill on me because i had no clue what was happening. And Henry has so much HP in bitter. It could take you like an hour or so if you don't man up and hit him with charged hits and use dark steps more often.

I feel that Shinobu was ranked way too low in the game. Im not finished with the game yet(I just beat Harvey), but so far she's the hardest boss to me. Holly Summers wasnt that strong and Destroyman was just a big joke. Shinobu should have been ranked at about 5. Maybe even 4.

I haven't gotten here yet on hard, but this helped for me on normal.

Ironically, I found the best way to deal with it was to let yourself get hit by the first one. It knocks you down and the rest of the speed slashes fly over you.

I think they must have playtested the heck out of this particular fight.

She isn't particularly fast but even her slower moves are likely to hit you anyway becuase they strike where you're most likely to be or end up at that moment.

It's like they took a few dozen playtesters and said "Oh, 90% of our playtesters ended up in this exact spot after dodging this move so lets put in a really hard hitting attack that strikes in that spot." and did that to come up with half her moves.

Shinobu is perhaps the hardest ranked fight. Her attacks are fast and hard to avoid and deals quite a bit as well. Plus, she has very few openings, unlike Dr. Peace before her.

I think Bad Girl is the hardest because she has those minions that she hits you with and then attack you, and the "Instant Death" move that she uses randomly during the fight.

yeah, actually, like PurgatoryMaren said, she's not that hard, she is for sure an unbalaced boss, however Badgirl (IMO) it's like 10 times harder, specially in the mild mode, if you try to strike shinobu after Sonic Sword, after her charged Horizontal cut's, or try to attack by her "sides" it's actually easier then trying to strike her face-to-face...

I am playing on mild, and I haven't killed her yet, after 6 tries. The obvious imbalance issues are really pissing my off, and I don't feel like a gamer should "just get used to it". If a boss is invincible 90% of the time, including when they charge up for an attack, then I don't feel like I am going toe to toe with them. Honestly, figuring out the little tricks to chip away at chinks in the armor seems really boring and tedious. Other than that, this game is awesome!

Part of it is just knowing when to strike, man. Like with Bad Girl, the best time to hit her is just after she takes swings.

Shinobu is easy. I've tried different methods of taking her on and only been killed once.

I've been overly aggressive, just swinging like mad, and I had Shinobu's health down in a minute or so. If you can stun her and get in a few suplexes, you'll whoop her little ass like a marshmallow.

The key to destroying her is in grabbing her. Slams take such a huge chunk of life from her that you'll beat her in less than 10 minutes if you get three or so off.

I started on normal difficulty. Maybe that was a bad choice. The ranked assassins take lots of practice to beat. Shinobu was the hardest one thus far, killing me until i developed the strategy of suplexing her down to the smallest health possible, and beating her in only a couple hits.
