i would be scared to live in durham / chapel hill unless i was a black man in da hood with a piece. its not the best area of the country to live or go to school. kinda like Compton or harlem , atlanta is becoming like this, and new orleans was until the wrath fell on it.

Durham and Chapel Hell both have problems as such. I like Cary better. I admit that, compared to places like NYC it is nothing. My idea of a "nice place" is not a loud and obnoxious rathole like almost the entire state of NC. The mountains are still nice, but it's only a matter of time before that goes downhill too; it's what I abhor about NC. The NC of 18-20 yrs. ago was a lot different than that of today. Unfortunately, the 90's came, went, and left its problems behind. Pay rate sucks here.

what the hell? chapel hill is SO much safer than durham, even though durham is very nice, just a lot bigger, and there are more downtown areas there. I mean r u seriously saying that chapel hill is a bad place to go to school? Were #1 in the state, and when i went to school there, we always got all these awards for having a nice, safe school and school district.
