I'm a native of Houghton, MI, now residing 'way out west. Any trip back to the U.P. and the beautiful Copper Country must include a drive to Copper Harbor, a trip to the top of Brockway Mountain, and a stroll though Fort Wilkins on the shore of Lake Fannie Hooe. A drive along the Lake Superior shore will bring you past Great Sand Bay, through Eagle Harbor (where you'll find a store that first opened during Lincoln's presidency,) on past Jacobs Falls and Eagle River, through Calumet. Yes!
