That sugar syrup you used looked way too thick , thats why it got sticky on you at the end.....next time try a different alternative or buy corn syrup on the internet
i'm half korean and follow maangchi very much and i occasionally make this dish. i made this last night and actually made my sauce too sticky this time. if u add water and stir while heat is on, let's say med-high heat it will thin it out. but did i notice u had the heat off when mixing the chicken w the sauce? keep the heat on, maangchi does this, it will keep the sauce from cooling and hardening and will allow the chicken to soak up the sauce :) but very good job :)
Remember when cooking you have control. You can decide to use something or not. I think often we feel if something is already prepared we have to use it. Not so. If the syrup doesn't look right, make another one : ) The chicken looks really nice.
nice job and btw quick tip to keep ur board from moving like that a pot holder or tea towel under the board would stop all that sliding ^.^b...and with the saudce just like Maangchi said a little water would thin that right out =)
I'm very impressed by your first time making dakkangjeong! It looks very crunchy and delicious even though the sauce turned out too sticky. A simple solution is to boil the sauce for a shorter time, or if it's already too sticky, add some water to make it less sticky. Remember what I said in the recipe, "Raise a spoon of the sizzling sauce above the wok in the air and drop it until the sauce begins stopping halfway" Good job! Congratulations! This is very popular party food.

Indian or arabic guys wearing long sleeves are sexy in a way. Xp I think that way. Lol. Practice makes perfect. Lol.

I think you over-reduced the sauce. It formed threads when it coated the chicken.

You can fix that by tossing them in the oven low heat. It should melt the sauce again and not over the meat. You'll lose a bit the crispy though.
