It is the right to say what ever you want as long as it does not conflict with what the guy in power wanted you to say. And if you have a different opinion you will be silenced.even if you wanted to stage a protest where you can clearly voice your words "this is usually when the guy in power speak out to the public because he can easily voice out his opinion since lots of people are listening". In the end only those who have the power to speak can define free speech
@aminebusiness Well if you're referring to the shouting incident...those students did have "the right to say whatever" they wanted to say. The only rule was to let the invited guest finish. Then they would have the SAME audience, and the same "power" that he had.
Frankly, your statement sounds like some sort of excuse for yelling at people and drowning out their voice in the (ironic) guise of "free speech."
He interpreted free speech to his best of interest or rather his client meaning the university. you might argue that he isn't a lawyer for the university but you can never decline the fact that he is an employee for the university who happened to be a lawyer.... anyways Free speech is an interesting subject that been discussed by many people including lawyer who cant seem to come to an understanding between them.

I will use nothing but quotes to describe this speak: "LAWYER: A professional advocate hired to bend the law on behalf of a paying client; for this reason considered the most suitable background for entry into politics."-- The Cynic's Dictionary.

@aminebusiness our system is an adversarial one, where parties have almost full control of litigation. Would you rather have a system in which disputes are decided by solely by the discretion of an adjudicator?
except the speaker is a war criminal, and shouldn't have had the right to speak on a public campus.

@skaterboy21292 then all that needs to be done is for you to be called a "war criminal" and you will be silenced as well.
