Of the many versions of this tune Brian Setzer et al have come up with over the years, I still think I prefer the first, but thats probably only because it was - well, the first I heard and got used to. After knowing that one, the jazz version was really a downer for me, but this version is great. Maybe the full drum kit seems a bit out of place - but then maybe I'm just being picky.

I think Brian was meant to be like 16 in 1950....I love his style of playing. This is a great song and he breathed some life into it again...GO STRAY CAT GO....best boogie song
jon...I doubt that...none is the best as it's not a competition you can win....His influence Ed was real great at the Gretsch 6120...The twang's the thang...so don't let the strings rattle, folks

???? Stray Cats are the "infant" version of this band. That's Brian singing there too, The sound is so much richer here. Incredible talent and much unrecognized. FANTASTIC!!!

Why it shows the full orchestra when its only the trio playing?
TheSheepherd 8 months ago
@TheSheepherd
The set was split between the trio and the full orchestra. This vid introduces them as well as allowing us to enjoys Brians amazing playing.

Dumb question...is the bass player and the drummer the same from the Stray Cats?
19ewm72 2 years ago
no,the stray cats were lee rocker,slim jim phantom,and brian setzer.this is the bso members are;brian setzer,bernie dressel,and mark winchester.
amhyams 2 years ago
i think the stray cats did a tour of europe last year tho.
so they still exist right?
1991Tijmen1991 2 years ago
It was probably just a reunion concert for the stray cats. Example: The band Cream had a reunion in 2005, although they broke up in 1968.

Yeah, cause Hammet is no idiot. He knows a superior when he sees one. Setzer is SOOOOOOOOO underrated.
