A conservative estimate of one 1 million people were killed in the 2nd world war. 6 million of those were jewish. That leaves 93 million people who weren't jewish.
No human murder is greater or more relevant than another.
When we begin to believe we are unique in our suffering and persecution then something bad happens. A sense of entitlement of injustice towards those we perceive as "not having suffered as much as we."
This is a fatal paradigm. We ALL have suffered. So grow the fuck up.
The problem with "isn't science wonderful?" solution by the maker of this video is that he quickly papered over the fact that scientists are very human and human beings can be bought by corporations. This is happening in Alberta and in mining projects polluting the environment. Data is distorted in order to maintain corporate destruction of environment. That is REALITY!
Didn't Jesus Christ refute and reject the money paradigm? One of the few in history and present who knew its toxicity.
I have a 12 year old renault clio. I've driven it all that time and it only has a 1190cc engine. I still can overtake more powerful cars if I have to and I once ran my business with a trailer attached to this car.
I sprayed anti rust treatment on any parts that I noticed rust beginning - didn't take long. I hardly ever have to fill up at the pumps and it has a very clean burning engine.
It's even designed for tall people!!! I'm 6 foot 2"".
ugh. Incredibly frustrating. it contains fab data about inequality. BUT! The narrator's "solution" is science?!!
SCIENCE!? is the solution? Is he serious?
Does he mean science such as the nuclear industry who consistently lie to us about radioactive leaks into environments? Or Monsanto "scientists" who tell us GM foods are safe to eat? Or the countless "scientists" who work for the military industrial con?
Only change in each individual can change our world.
@telemetry9 Yes science, here lets make it plainly simple for ya. Star Trek watch a show or two, what do you think drives that society? knowledge....science, mental growth, and equality; thats the only way our society will ever evolve, or be saved so to speak. Our society, until its drivin by mental growth and develepment as the main currency, is completely and utterly fubared. i mean who are you trying to defend by your weak recorse anyways? what are you a cheerleader for the rich?
In a way your comment exemplifies the arrogance that pervades "science". What it does is take natural and pre existing laws of physical nature and then claims to have "invented" it. Oppenheimer didn't "create" the A bomb - he merely conceptualized a pre existing force in nature and now we have to live with the hairy mess of it and the unimagined suffering it has caused.
There's good science but only "solves" a problem science created by and of itself in the first. ie. rising cancer rates.
@TheAlterMCMicX do you want me to point out the flaws of the current system, oh wait they just showed you that for the last two hours, man what it is with you people you must all be american. Brainwashed robots good for virtually nothing except for consumption.
@MazFiltrado - Haha, you're right. Consumption of drugs, sex, gay-lesbian products, anti-depression pills, obesity pills.... Don't worry about the morons that comment here, they're not right in their heads.
Peter is right with the scarcity and monetary system we currently have is creating the laziness, because we're wore out after working so much, we don't care, consume drugs and don't exercise and that is why we live short lives.
I also have to wonder who decides the priority of resource alocation?
At least in the current system there is oportunity for people to have an organisation provide those resources if the idea has merrit. If the resources are held for a pre determined use and rationing becomes the rule when would any one have access to resources for inovation?
@monster8090 : You are assuming the system is stupid. If system is intelligent, there will be resources provided to innovation, even if lots of it will end up wasted.
Lets just imagine there are scientists making the decisions. Actually smart people. Like if we picked people who make decisions based on their intelligence.
@bary1234 The same exact problem western civilization is facing today.
You assume the leaders will be honest, inteligent and able to make informed decisions.
You are also not taking human greed into account.
The current system is not bad. It's more about how it is being implamented.
If you want to have a system like the dream society portrayed in this movie you have the option of finding a group of like minded people and building it.
Rather than telling others how to live, show us how.
@monster8090 : I´m not assuming, im hoping. Or planning, dreaming, whatever. Or is it the same thing.
I know it is fucked up now, in just about all places on this planet. Because all humans get corrupted by power, instantly. And we should know that by now, we should anticipate it and react to it before too much damage is done.
Where would you propose we build this dream society? Should I buy Swizerland and ask all people to leave so we can reset the country?
You and a group of people could BUY the land and materials to create the utopia you want under the current system in america.
The fact is many people DID try that in the 60's and 70's, but without the rewards of capitalism you will not atract motivated or inteligent people.
A capable person will see the restrictions placed on them by the system and emigrate to a society where they will be rewarded for their abilitys and granted more freedom.
What utopia would I like to build? And where would I get the like minded people and billions of dollars? Or are you thinking about a "tiny group of people in a house" -type of utopia?
I dont know what those people in 60´and 70´tried to do, but I seriously doubt I would have liked to live in their utopia.
Why would the system place restrictions on a capable person? Whats the point in that?
Why would you not reward ability and grant freedom?
@bary1234 give me an example that you think supersitition is destroying and raping our planet ?
There are scientists that do believe in religion/God.......though said before that I have no affiliation with any religious or political group. It appears to me that you have giving most of your attention to the group of scientists that you listed and believed every word they've said and not researched if they wer
@monster8090 What you seem to miss is that tons of food are thrown away each day, those could help people in need, also the scarcity of some resources is produced so that a few get richer and richer. I am sorry to say but you actually missed the whole point...
I just wonder how any progress would be made in a society where resources are alocated on a basis of need. If i wanted to make a better item but i have to submit my idea and leave it to peer review as to weather i can even get resources to make a test model. How many years would i need to spend to get it aproved for testing? How many more years for the acual tests? How many years before it's aproved for use?
Imagine the pharmecutical industry legislations aplied to every invetion or improvement.
I don't usually do this, but if you're interested in (being informed or..) changing the world in a positive way here's some other documentaries/persons you could check out:
Collapse, Food Matters, Thrive, Gasland, Home, The Disclosure Project, Ron Paul, John Lennon, David Icke, Peter Joseph, Graham Hancock, Bill Hicks, Alex Jones, Joe Rogan w/ Duncan Trussell.
These are the best of the best in my opinion after at least 5year research. Hope it'll help! Peace.
@bary1234 your definition of supertitious is wrong..look the word up....people who research and find the truth are not speaking of superstition......they have done the research unlike you..that listens to the mainstream media and takes it all in as gospel....you are a lover of big business that is destroying our world..supersitition by the very meaning cannot hurt anyone..idiot...cause it's superstition!.....educate yourself..waken up see it as it is, how can supersitition harm anyone?
@CoolCollectableToys : -You asked how can superstition be harmfull. Inquisition is example of how superstition is harmfull.
-What I do for a living has nothing to do with any of our conversations, so mind your own bussiness.
-Religion is devastating. Its the primary reason why people oppose or neglect liberation of women, family planning, contraseption, abortion, population control, recycling, stem-cell research, any technological and scientific advancement on any field...
@bary1234 mind my own business..lol yet you asked me prsonal questions and I answered....you work in big business....you are apart of them....and you are a fucking brainwashed fool.........................end of story, you and people like you days are numbered. When shit hits the fan you will crumble just like your playing cards, as you do not know the truth so therefore you will not be prepared.Think before I talk..lol..I have researched this stuff for 21yrs..I am well prepared.
@CoolCollectableToys: I dont work for a big bussiness. And even if human corruption and creed is disgusting and horrible and devastating, its still "just" the third worse problem on this planet.
You keep repeating how I like big corporations, and you could not be more wrong. I dont know how to say this more clearly, you just cant understand. Or refuse to. Is english a foreign language to you?
You are prepared? Do you still say superstition is not harmfull?
@bary1234 if it is true you don't like big business why can't you tell me what you do and why can you not understand that it is big business corps that are the number 1 problem and not the other two that you keep saying. Religion is part of their plan to get one group against another and confuse people like you. The powers that control this world have planned this current affairs we have today long before you or I were born. To understand you must research the people that r in control
@CoolCollectableToys : I dont think big bussiness is the number one problem. Just look at our numbers, there are 7 Billion humans on this planet. We are everywhere, killing all animals, destroying all nature. We are still breeding like idiots, in all poor countries. Even the poorest humans kill and destroy as much as they can, just to survive.
That rest of your paranoid nonsense was just that. Paranoid nonsense. Corrupted greedy humans are bad, but they are not NWO.
@CoolCollectableToys : I dont believe every word of anybody. I follow the evidence, and I realise I dont have much to follow. If you can provide new evidence, I can and will change my mind. I am not a scientists, I am a lay person reading and learning as much as I can spare time. Still much more reading lies ahead. I dont claim to have all the answers, that would be as stupid as being religious.
I listed only few people, whole list is millions. I dont disclude info easily.
@CoolCollectableToys : About superstition raping our planet. Did you read this comment: -Religion is devastating. Its the primary reason why people oppose or neglect liberation of women, family planning, contraseption, abortion, population control, recycling, stem-cell research, any technological and scientific advancement on any field.
Do I need to go to more detail, or is this enough about that?
@bary1234 I agree with you that there are many religions that do oppose the list you wrote. But to say "any technology and scientific advancement on any field"...is streching it a bit far. There are and many religions that welcome science. For instance from an Islamic standpoint, science, the study of nature, is considered to be linked to the concept of Tawhid. The modern scientific method was pioneered by Islamic scientist Ibn Al-Haytham yes a muslim !
@bary1234 anyway it goes deeper than you can imagine..what is happening why its happening and who is controlling the strings. Its all devised for people like you and I to argue, disagree etc so we don't follow their trail. Have you not ever wondered why things go round in cycles or circles ?...cause they know it works...to confuse, brainwash, people so they carry on regardless. My advice to you is to start at the begining and then see if you come to the same conclusion you have now.
-Human overpopulation is the biggest problem on this planet. Humans are destroying the biodiversity and wrecking the climate of this planet.
-Superstition is the second biggest problem. Stupid humans are waste of resources. All time and energy wasted on stupidity must be redirected to something more valuable.
-Corruption and greed is the third biggest problem. Humans are poorly evolved, and cant handle power.
@carbonfiberfan You can just google this stuff. "Global warming is mostly caused by increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases produced by human activities such as deforestation and burning fossil fuels."
@bary1234 Their argument that excess c02 in the air is destroying the planet, but during the medievel warming period there was vastly more carbon in the air than present day. This was also before the Industrial Revolution. Global warming is a convieniet theory that is allowing venture (vulture) capitalists, international bankers, and TNC"s to reap billions. If their false science get put into law it will the begining of an Orwellian night mare. Youtube13775 rural council.
@carbonfiberfan Its not destroying the planet, planet is a lump of rock and it will be fine. But its fucking up the climate.
Are you saying it was fun to live in the medieval warming period? Or during the ice-age? Do you deny the increase of weird weather-conditions and storms we are experiencing now?
What is your source, I´m quessing its something that has religious people very much involved in it.
@bary1234 ALot of scientists like in the thousands signed a petition that states climate change is a fraud. Plus climate change is correlated to the activity of the sun i.e the number of sun spots. Look it up. I'm not saying living in either medievel warm tempeture of an ice age is going to be a great time. What I'm trying to convey no one can stop that. If anything the UN council on science eventually admitted the earth was cooling in the last 8 years. continued...
@bary1234 I'm not jumping to conclusions or tying to engage in a contest of who is more enlightened than who, but take a look at who is pusing the green movement, its not regular guys like you and me its an oligarchy that has something to gain from it. If Al Gore, Ted Turner, Newt Gingrinch, and those international bankers wanted for me to take them seriously they should sell all their yachts, cars, and homes and live in a cave.
@bary1234 I'm actually an atheist so your assertion that I'm a fundamentalist is false. CHeck out this book. You can check all the foot notes your self if you wish. I know its more time consuming than say skiming something AL Gore wrote on some website you found from "Google" but here it is and take care. Look for the book "climategate" on amazon.
@carbonfiberfan I know you are an Atheist, you said it before. But you have been reading christian/creationist propaganda.
Are you saying people can get more done living in caves? What do you want? Do you think we are doing ok, or do you think we are getting fucked by nature without doing anything bad?
@bary1234 How do you know its christian propaganda? We are getting "fucked by nature" as you succinctly put it because of solar activity or possibly HAARP who knows about that one. But its funny that these people saying we should reduce our carbon foot print when they themselves have the biggest carbon foot print of all. A bit hippocritical to me.
@carbonfiberfan Yeah, they are hypocrites but still they are right. And they get their point across better if they dont live in a cave. And no matter what its not funny. Its snowing like hell here, I dont want climate to get more messed up.
Theres plenty of data against the solar influence.
/watch?v=_Sf_UIQYc20
This clip also shows the dishonesty of the fuckers who try to spread these lies.
We are causing massive amounts of damage, and apparently we need a pandemic to solve this
@bary1234 can you send me the link to my inbox I dont think its working. I think they already get their point across great with the bombardment of advertisement of the Green movement. I just dont know how Lambos, yachts, or large estates help the environmental movement. Its surprsiningly pretty warm here in NJ hasnt snowed yet. Plus if Global Warming caused by man is destroying the human race wouldnt this be a good thing to you since you think the world is over populated?
@carbonfiberfan : I dont want to destroy the human race. I want us to reach stars and spread everywhere in space. Fucking up this only tiny speck of spacedust we have is not helping in that.
About the lambos: I said they are hypocrites. They are. And they are assholes too. But they are still right, we are causing the global warming with greenhouse gasses.
Search: Climate Denial Crock of the Week - Solar Schmolar
@CoolCollectableToys Dont bother arguing with this guy most people dont change their minds no matter how much evidence you present to them that their wrong. Whats creepy is his notion that over population is a major problem. To see humanity as some kind of cancer is pretty malthusian.
@carbonfiberfan well said, I totally agree. This gentleman is a disinformer, why else would he not tell me what he does for a living ! He does'nt give up no matter what one say's and that is another giveaway !
@CoolCollectableToys : You idiotic douchebag. I dont do oversharing on the internet, get over it. You dont get to interrogate people just because you are a fearmongering conspiracy-nutjob. Go play your spygames back to your mothers basement.
The MORE money we accumulate the MORE we can Distance ourselves from what it takes to keep this system going.
Money allows us to distance ourselves from the Oppression/Abuses/Crimes perpetrated by our Capitalist Forces to accumulate 'Capital' with the implied promise that we too will One Day be 'RICH'.
Money once had intrinsic value and was not volatile and did not depreciate as it does today. As soon as paper money was exchanged for gold and silver people were enslaved to work and pay interest. The Jews were at the heart of this and it pisses me off when I read that in their faith they can charge non Jews interest but not themselves. The Jewish faith is inherently racist and therefore disciminatory. I mean it's a race, not even a religion!
Western or individualistic societies are the main problem. It emphasises the individual over the family or community and this has led to competativeness that has ultimately raped the world. It has also set the par for developing nations to follow in the same footsteps to 'prosper'. It's a false pretext which serves the rich and corportates. Simply put, it is modern day slavery. As a westerner with collectivist background, I can see a massive change in thinking between the 2 cultures. West=Greed
Has anyone heard of Islamic finance or economies? I heard that former Malaysian PM Mahatir saved Malaysia from economic crisis because he refused to deal with the IMF. According to Islam, interest is forbidden for all, unlike the Jews who can charge non Jews interest, but not each other interest. I'm just curious to know more about it.
@MrMets80 Being parented by extremist muslim parents, I shared your intrigue in Islamic Economics. It sounds impressive at first because it "solves" poverty and the idea of interest is out of the question. After much research, this is what I discovered: Strictly in a theoretical sense an Islamic economy will not involve people deprived of the necessities of survival.
@MrMets80 In such a paradigm planned obsolescence is still inevitable and that means that wasteful use of resources will occur. Don't let the Muslims impress you with a "there's more to it than that" because I kept inquiring and they kept saying the same stuff in a different way. I may seem arrogant when I say that I know a lot about Islam, but I do. My father is a widely recognized Islamic political thinker/writer/activist, almost a public figure in the middle east. He's full of shit!
@0altaer0 In an Islamic economic system elitism is also inevitable, since there will be people who are richer than others. Besides the very fact that money is used, even though its value is based on gold, means that eventually someone in charge will lose their "principle" and begin the overly familiar governmental corruption we see today. The Islamic economic system isn't good, it's just not as bad as the current paradigm.
@MrMets80 The Islamic economic system was strictly implemented by the Islamic State that was founded by Prophet Mohammed.......Where is the Islamic State today? Nowhere. It failed because of corruption that slowly disintegrated the empire that once occupied most of the Old World. Muslims believe that it wouldn't have failed if the leaders had a "stronger faith in god". Would you like to live in a system in which people's lives are dependent on the leader's faith in god? I won't!
This sounds great in theory (resource-based economy)...but the fundamental flaw is that it doesn't
take into account basic human nature, which sadly includes the desire for greed and power. Even communism was corrupt and didn't work. If this theory was so easy to implement, wouldn't it have been accomplished thousands of years ago? Also, even in such a system, there undoubtedly be a "hierarchy" of some type--running/managing things. Nature being nature, wouldn't that itself lend it to corruption
While this video has stated 'the problem' being finite resources, the corrupt monetary and political systems, not to mention religion, the REAL problem is OVERPOPULATION.
If we the people really got our act together as a collective whole, we would agree to limit our numbers as to not overburden the earth with the impossible job of feeding and housing seven billion people (to date). Life will continue to get worse as we add billions more.
@bary1234 If I was given a large pizza for everytime I see or hear that "overpopulation is the biggest problem on this planet" , I would have exploded years ago !
Its the system we have and live by and the greed of the elite that run and govern our system that is the biggest problem on our planet.
@CoolCollectableToys You should have exploded. That would be one less moron to worry about.
If there we just 500 million of us, we could be the greedy stupid bastards that we are, and this planet could handle it.
This is what we are:
/watch?v=ldBxez6lTLo&feature=related
We are stupid animals, overbreeding untill our enviroment cant support us. Unlike any other animals, we are a global swarm. We dont just fuck up tiny areas, we fuck up the whole biodiversity of this globe.
@bary1234 I totally resent your comment..you don't know who I am or anything about me. When you say "we" don't include me or people like me. You obviously don't think much of yourself or many of us that want to change this world for the better. If your with the 500 million theory then your one of them greedy corporate assholes that is destroying our world. Its the system we are governed and live by that is fucked up, nothing to do with overpopulation, that is an elitist argument.
We have to consume living cells to maintain our complexity. We cant stop killing. Every animal that has ever existed, given the change, will overpopulate untill its surroundings cant support it. We are no different.
Do you know how much animal and plant species go extinct every week? Extinct, as in gone forever. Never to be seen again. We are destroying the biodiversity of this planet at an astonishing rate.
@bary1234 did you actually watch the whole of this video ? if we had a system that was appropriate like this video suggests then we all could live on this planet. Its is the system that strives greed and power for the few that control it. We cannot continue to live as we do today by this system, change the system and peoples attitudes and we can all live. It is obviously hard for you to understand this, when shit hits the fan you will not survive unless you change your mindset.
@bary1234 America has 5% of the world's population but consumes 25% of the world's resources. So, in terms of resources used, each new American born equals five world citizens. The idea that growing human numbers will destroy the planet is nonsense. BUT OVER-CONSUMPTION WILL.There is no exponential growth. In fact, population growth is slowing. For more than three decades now, the average number of babies being born to women in most of the world has been in decline.
@CoolCollectableToys : We cant destroy the planet. Planet is going to be fine. We cant even end all life. Life will continue, maybe even sentient life eventually. But we can kill all known species of animals and plants. And thats pretty much what we are doing.
@bary1234 you contradict yourself ; on one hand you say "We cant destroy the planet" and then you go about the carbon foot print. Your loosing yourself in name calling and assumptions through your own ignorance and self worth. Everyone is part of the problem and the solution. I don't disclude myself but you appear to. I can tell you are a weak minded person, you cannot debate without resorting to name calling, you possibly have an anger problem. Take a breath and count to ten !
@CoolCollectableToys Planet is a big lump of rock. It will be here long after we are all gone.
Biodiversity is extremely fragile, and we are destroying it with amazing speed and efficiency. That we cant fix when its gone.
"Some scientists estimate that up to half of presently existing species may become extinct by 2100." From a paper from 2002, I dont have more recent studies. Thats 5 million from current 10 million species. You think that might affect us a bit?
@bary1234 my business is about recycling old goods and reselling them..... I do take personal steps as well. as I keep saying the system we have rapes the planet because of the big corps wanting more money. You only need to turn on your telly and its all about buy this buy that. What ARE you doing to put your money where your mouth is?
@CoolCollectableToys : People want more money. Everybody is greedy, its part of the makeup of our species.
I have two kids, I wont have more. I take same personal steps as you. I have no car, never did. I grow much of my own food. I dont buy what I dont need. I dont travel, and if I have to I go by train, not by plane.
I will educate my children, try to teach them not to give in to consumerism and appreciate the nature we still have.
@bary1234 to fully understand what these claims are about you need to understand where they are coming and why...to understand that you need to understand how the machine(our world) works and who runs it...........
@bary1234 no your right wiki's is no a good source and would'nt trust their sources as far as I could throw them. You obviously have a big problem with catholics or anything I link you to you accuse it of being catholic propaganda. I am not catholic or religious in any way before you say it. I agree to disagree with you as it is obvious we are not going to agree. Time will tell who is right and who is not.
@CoolCollectableToys You only gave me one source, that idiotic superstitious Stephen Moser is behind that ridiculous population research institute too. You seriously have to stop reading religious propaganda.
@CoolCollectableToys You ask if superstitious idiots who believe in rapture and heaven have a purpose? Nothing they do has any bearing on reality, they live in a fantasy world. We dont go to creationists for science.
Superstiton is the secong biggest problem after overpopulation. And these two problems are very much linked.
@bary1234 the stuff you believe in is superstiton ! I bet you 50 yrs time if the world eltists don't get their way that we will be still here talking about the same things.....you bought into them boy, big time and you know what your not even in the fucking club....you grow your own food thats good cause all the shite people get from supermarkets etc are part of depopulation plan along with the vaccines they dish out...don't take the flu vaccines whatever you do !
Do you know what extinction means? Can you understand what it means when species go extinct? Do you understand what biodiversity is?
All that depopulation crap you wrote, damn what has happened to you? Are you sure you are not a christian? You sure sound like loony enough to be in the zombie-cult.
@bary1234 species go extinct you know that and others are found, lots of species that we have not discovered yet and are discovering every day. I woke up thats whats happened to me and if you don't your going to be in for a big shock. Resorting to names again. I tell you this... meet me face to face and I will give you £1000 if you are standing 10 seconds after name calling me. I have researched for the last 21 years...the shit u think is true has been planned for a reason £££££
@CoolCollectableToys : Yeah, christian is a bad name to call somebody. Sorry. You just sound so damn insane and stupid with that vaccine-shit. I mean come on, conspiracy-theories like that are for creatards.
@CoolCollectableToys : You think those "discovered" species have just appeared magically? Do you think they somehow take the place of the species we kill off?
@CoolCollectableToys Pipedream. People are too easy to corrupt, too lazy and greedy and stupid. Our lives are too short for us to care about our enviroment. We dont live to see the impact of our bullshit. When we find a new planet, we can try to do something like that. I think after we fuck up this one planet we will know better next time. Lets just home there is a next time, and we actually manage to move out in to space.
@bary1234 Well some people believe that is already happening . But you need to and go witness a pandemic in real life that will maybe kick start your human feelings for others. Blame the top one percent, not the majority of the world's people, for environmental destruction. Its all about predictions and assumptions and you put your trust and believe them, your the fool.
You are in a lifeboat, meant to hold 40 people. There are 60 of you in there, and icy ocean waves are lapping over the sides allready. You are bailing for your life, you propably wont make it.
There are 16 000 people swimming in the ocean, towards your lifeboat, too tired and cold to even cry for help. But many of them will get to you, they will swamp your boat.
@bary1234 I have ran out patience with you Its got fuck all to do with the 7 billion or even more. ITS THE 1% THAT IS DESTROYING AND RAPING THIS PLANET. Shell BP and other big Corps. Even if it goes down to 500 million the 1% will still rape this planet. You work in big business by any chance ? or are you just a dumb fuck ?...I'm fed up with you go and fuck off and support your big business friends you hypocrite!
@bary1234 In 1968, Paul Ehrlich's bestseller The Population Bomb declared that as a result of overpopulation, "the battle to feed humanity is over," and the 1970s would be a time of global famines and ever-rising death rates. His predictions were all wrong, but four decades later his successors still use Ehrlich's phrase -- too many people! -- to explain environmental problems.
@bary1234 Most of the 7 billion are not endangering the earth. The majority of the world's people don't destroy forests, don't wipe out endangered species, don't pollute rivers and oceans, and emit essentially no greenhouse gases. Big corporations do that why for $.They make us live like this its their system over consumption.
And you want billions of innocent people to die due to a minority that want to rape the world for profit. Man seriously you are on the wrong side of the fence.
@bary1234 Even in the rich countries of the Global North, most environmental destruction is caused not by individuals or households, but by mines, factories, and power plants run by corporations that care more about profit than about humanity's survival. No reduction in U.S. population would have stopped BP from poisoning the Gulf of Mexico last year.Lower birthrates won't shut down Canada's tar sands one of the most staggering crimes the world has ever seen.
@bary1234 Universal access to birth control should be a fundamental human right -- but it would not have prevented Shell's massive destruction of ecosystems in the Niger River delta, or the immeasurable damage that Chevron has caused to rainforests in Ecuador.
@bary1234 Ironically, while populationist groups focus attention on the 7 billion, protestors in the worldwide Occupy movement have identified the real source of environmental destruction: not the 7 billion, but the 1%, the handful of millionaires and billionaires who own more, consume more, control more, and destroy more than all the rest of us put together. WAKEN UP !
@bary1234 you talk about numbers do the math and you will be surprised that the overpopulation is a myth. We need to live differently like what we are doing, with our own little pathes to grow our own food etc..instead of the way people are living today all clumped together thinking about the next plasma TV etc. The system we have today is not the system that will sustain the world for the future. We all need to change.
@CoolCollectableToys : Nope, we need to pile humans on as small areas as we can. Massive skyscrapers and underground cities would be best. Less surface we occupy the better. Since that is not going to happen, lets just hope we somehow diminish our numbers before we fuck up too much of biodiversity. Some kind of lethal pandemic is long overdue.
And we cant give up technology, this planet is finite, and we must reach other planets before this one is ruined.
@bary1234 I think your going to get your wish something will happen that will cause many deaths. But I do question your morality about wishing something like that onto your fellow humans. Would you wish that on your kids ?.
@bary1234 I hope you are not seriously believing that we have to kill off billions of people to able to survive, thats immoral and you should never hope for a pandemic or anyone to be killed not one.If you don't give a toss about others surely you would not want a member of your family dead. The more I see what you write the more I think your one twisted evil confused brainwashed sad fool. I have seen more dying and death than you have had hot dinners and for moral person its not good.
@CoolCollectableToys My sources are legion. Virginia Abernethy, Albert Barlett, Joel E Cohen, Barry Commoner, Herman Daly, Paul R Erlich, Garret Hardin, Steven LeBlanc, F L Lucas, Andrew Mason, Donella Meadows, Thomas Malthus, Julian Lincoln Simon, Ben J Wattenberg, Daniel Quinn..
To list them all would be just ridiculous. All scientists, all intellectual humans on this planet agree that human overpopulation causes unbearable stress to biodiversity and nature of this planet.
@bary1234 Virginia Deane Abernethy is a fucking fruit cake ! is an American professor of psychiatry and anthropology..lol this woman is nuts.outspoken opponent of immigration, Abernethy has called for a complete moratorium on immigration into the United States. She claims that immigrants devalue the work force, deplete scarce resources, adversely impact carrying capacity, and that Third World immigration has led to a rise in dangerous diseases within the United States. Elitist
@bary1234 Joel E Cohen...fuck now we are talking.....Rockefeller University..ha.ha.ha...fuck the hub of the New World Order proganda for students.... and eugenics...you support everything the NWO strive for...thats sad.....I wish you all the best...!!!
@bary1234 the stuff your saying was same shit that we got in the 60's and 70's when the world was supposed to have ran out of food etc......it is now 2011. You know how much money these big fucking corps and elitists are making via the fake fucking Eco shit they sprout...billions its all about cash and greed.
@CoolCollectableToys Yeah, they were right in the 60´s. Overpopulation of humans kills biodiversity. Humans are greedy and stupid. And permanently horny.
@bary1234 okay as far as I know this guy is not catholic but he could be..lol....he has video, which i think has a real good message for everyone to learn from...we need to do the math and if you do that and follow the example of these people then there is plenty room /watch?v=LbJUnL1QKa8&feature=related
@bary1234 you obviously think the system we live by today is the only system we can live by...if this is true then you are fucked. You should try and change your mindset and stop yourself from being brainwashed by the Elite. They want you to think that overpopulation is the biggest problem so they can depopulate and keep it all for themselves. You should try and watch...... watch?v=Xbp6umQT58A&list=WL3D9D15EE3B414853&feature=mh_lolz maybe you will then see the real world you live in.
@CoolCollectableToys : Why would I think our current system is the only system we can live by? I hate corruption and capitalism and greed and stupidity and planned obsolence and garbage and pollution more than anyone.
That does not change the fact that human overpopulation is the biggest problem on this planet.
@bary1234 Forty years ago, the average woman had between five and six kids. Now she has 2.6. This is getting close to the replacement level which, allowing for girls who don’t make it to adulthood, is around 2.3, half the world already has a fertility rate below the long-term replacement level. That includes all of Europe, much of the Caribbean and the far east from Japan to Vietnam and Thailand, Australia, Canada, Sri Lanka, Turkey, Algeria, Kazakhstan, and Tunisia.
@bary1234 Demographers used to say that women only started having fewer children when they got educated and the economy got rich, as in Europe. But tell that to the women of Bangladesh, one of the world’s poorest nations, where girls are among the least educated in the world, and mostly marry in their mid-teens. They have just three children now, less than half the number their mothers had.
@bary1234 India is even lower, at 2.8. Tell that also to the women of Brazil. In this hotbed of Catholicism, women have two children on average—and this is falling. Women are doing this because, for the first time in history, they can.Better healthcare and sanitation mean that most babies now live to grow up. It is no longer necessary to have five or six children to ensure the next generation.
@bary1234 There are holdouts, of course. In parts of rural Africa, women still have five or more children. But even here they are being rational. Women mostly run the farms, and they need the kids to mind the animals and work in the fields. In remote villages in Yemen, girls as young as 11 are forced into marriage. They still have six babies on average. But even the middle east is changing.Iran in the past 20 years, Iranian women have gone from having eight children to less than two.
@CoolCollectableToys : Religious people and poor people still breed like cockroaches.
Its getting better, slowly. Civilised countries are not breeding as fast anymore. But just think how long its going to take for our numbers to diminish.
@bary1234 Your name calling is nothing more than you exercising your ignorance and showing me that you do not like anyone else going against what you believe to be true. You are a robot sleeper who believe's everything you hear on your telly from the mainstream robotic propaganda machine.Your entwined with fear and your own self indulgence that one day you will not be able to get what you think you deserve. Go and sleep robot boy, you belong in a circus.
@bary1234 One thing you seem to think when someone disagrees with you is that they are stupid ! Well I disagree with you so I am stupid and you are obviously intelligent and know better than I. There you go, are you happy now ?
@bary1234 ITS OVER CONSUMPTIPON NOT OVER POPULATION...robot boy....thats our problem. Maybe if you stop buying your playing cards to knock down you might help the planet to conserve the trees that are being chopped down for you stupid sensless games. People like you are the problem. I cannot believe that someone like you who appears not to be mega wealthy agrees with the 500 million theory, your sick in the head and an elitists dream.
@CoolCollectableToys : Yeah, that worked. Thanks. And I´ve seen that shit allready.
Steve Mosher is part of the catholic propaganda-forces. He is a superstitious moron, who fights against contraseption and abortion because of zombie-jebus and the bible. He has nothing real to say, and nobody should give him any attention. Do you have any credible sources for your side of the argument? Perhaps a scientist or something?
@bary1234 Now how do you think we will get the population to 500 million ? If system allows overconsumption regardless the number of people then yes it will cause more damage. But I ask again how do we get to 500 million ?
@CoolCollectableToys : To reduce human population, we need to liberate women and provide proper education to all humans. We also need to provide free family planning, contraseption, sterilisation and abortion to all humans everywhere. We also should have legal euthanasia available in all countries, not just Swizerland.
To liberate women we need to end religions.
We dont need to get to 500 million, that was just an example. But we cant have even 7 billion, apparently.
@bary1234 There is absolutely no scientific data whatsoever to support this claim. Even a scientist such as David Jablonski, who believes species will decline, says, "We have no idea how many species are out there and how many are dying." Some species, such as blue whales, spotted owls and blackfooted ferrets, have been found to be more numerous than was once thought. Since many species exist in forests and the earth's forest cover is remaining about the same.
Agree with much of this only the state won't stand down so easily

So - no planned obsolescence for me.

The: "They" are doomed to fail.
telemetry9 1 month ago
@telemetry9 Yes science, here lets make it plainly simple for ya. Star Trek watch a show or two, what do you think drives that society? knowledge....science, mental growth, and equality; thats the only way our society will ever evolve, or be saved so to speak. Our society, until its drivin by mental growth and develepment as the main currency, is completely and utterly fubared. i mean who are you trying to defend by your weak recorse anyways? what are you a cheerleader for the rich?
MazFiltrado 1 month ago
In a way your comment exemplifies the arrogance that pervades "science". What it does is take natural and pre existing laws of physical nature and then claims to have "invented" it. Oppenheimer didn't "create" the A bomb - he merely conceptualized a pre existing force in nature and now we have to live with the hairy mess of it and the unimagined suffering it has caused.
There's good science but only "solves" a problem science created by and of itself in the first. ie. rising cancer rates.

I also have to wonder who decides the priority of resource alocation?
At least in the current system there is oportunity for people to have an organisation provide those resources if the idea has merrit. If the resources are held for a pre determined use and rationing becomes the rule when would any one have access to resources for inovation?
monster8090 2 months ago

Rather than telling others how to live, show us how.
monster8090 2 months ago
@monster8090 : I´m not assuming, im hoping. Or planning, dreaming, whatever. Or is it the same thing.
I know it is fucked up now, in just about all places on this planet. Because all humans get corrupted by power, instantly. And we should know that by now, we should anticipate it and react to it before too much damage is done.
Where would you propose we build this dream society? Should I buy Swizerland and ask all people to leave so we can reset the country?
bary1234 2 months ago
@bary1234 What country do you live in?
You and a group of people could BUY the land and materials to create the utopia you want under the current system in america.
The fact is many people DID try that in the 60's and 70's, but without the rewards of capitalism you will not atract motivated or inteligent people.
A capable person will see the restrictions placed on them by the system and emigrate to a society where they will be rewarded for their abilitys and granted more freedom.
monster8090 2 months ago
@monster8090 : I live in Finland.

If i wanted to make a better item but i have to submit my idea and leave it to peer review as to weather i can even get resources to make a test model. How many years would i need to spend to get it aproved for testing? How many more years for the acual tests? How many years before it's aproved for use?

-What I do for a living has nothing to do with any of our conversations, so mind your own bussiness.

bary1234 2 months ago
@bary1234 if it is true you don't like big business why can't you tell me what you do and why can you not understand that it is big business corps that are the number 1 problem and not the other two that you keep saying. bary1234 2 months ago

My advice to you is to start at the begining and then see if you come to the same conclusion you have now.
CoolCollectableToys 2 months ago
@CoolCollectableToys : My conclusions:

MrMets80 2 months ago

After much research, this is what I discovered: Strictly in a theoretical sense an Islamic economy will not involve people deprived of the necessities of survival.
0altaer0 2 months ago
@MrMets80 In such a paradigm planned obsolescence is still inevitable and that means that wasteful use of resources will occur. Don't let the Muslims impress you with a "there's more to it than that" because I kept inquiring and they kept saying the same stuff in a different way. I may seem arrogant when I say that I know a lot about Islam, but I do. My father is a widely recognized Islamic political thinker/writer/activist, almost a public figure in the middle east. He's full of shit!
0altaer0 2 months ago
@0altaer0 In an Islamic economic system elitism is also inevitable, since there will be people who are richer than others. Besides the very fact that money is used, even though its value is based on gold, means that eventually someone in charge will lose their "principle" and begin the overly familiar governmental corruption we see today. The Islamic economic system isn't good, it's just not as bad as the current paradigm.
0altaer0 2 months ago
@MrMets80 The Islamic economic system was strictly implemented by the Islamic State that was founded by Prophet Mohammed.......Where is the Islamic State today? Nowhere. It failed because of corruption that slowly disintegrated the empire that once occupied most of the Old World. Muslims believe that it wouldn't have failed if the leaders had a "stronger faith in god". Would you like to live in a system in which people's lives are dependent on the leader's faith in god? I won't!
0altaer0 2 months ago

Read the Georgia Guidestones. There's the answer.
JoJo1955 2 months ago
Human overpopulation is the biggest problem on this planet. Organised religion is the second biggest.
I so hope we dont fuck up this planet yet. I want my kids to have a change to live happy.
bary1234 2 months ago
@bary1234 If I was given a large pizza for everytime I see or hear that "overpopulation is the biggest problem on this planet" , I would have exploded years ago !
Its the system we have and live by and the greed of the elite that run and govern our system that is the biggest problem on our planet.
CoolCollectableToys 2 months ago
@CoolCollectableToys You should have exploded. That would be one less moron to worry about.
If there we just 500 million of us, we could be the greedy stupid bastards that we are, and this planet could handle it.
This is what we are:
/watch?v=ldBxez6lTLo&feature=related
We are stupid animals, overbreeding untill our enviroment cant support us. Unlike any other animals, we are a global swarm. We dont just fuck up tiny areas, we fuck up the whole biodiversity of this globe.
bary1234 2 months ago
@bary1234 I totally resent your comment..you don't know who I am or anything about me. When you say "we" don't include me or people like me. You obviously don't think much of yourself or many of us that want to change this world for the better. If your with the 500 million theory then your one of them greedy corporate assholes that is destroying our world. Its the system we are governed and live by that is fucked up, nothing to do with overpopulation, that is an elitist argument.
CoolCollectableToys 2 months ago
@CoolCollectableToys :Off course you resent, you are an idiot.
We are destroying the biodiversity of this planet at an astonishing rate.
bary1234 2 months ago
@bary1234 did you actually watch the whole of this video ? if we had a system that was appropriate like this video suggests then we all could live on this planet. Its is the system that strives greed and power for the few that control it. We cannot continue to live as we do today by this system, change the system and peoples attitudes and we can all live. It is obviously hard for you to understand this, when shit hits the fan you will not survive unless you change your mindset.
CoolCollectableToys 2 months ago
@CoolCollectableToys Appropriate system means no overpopulation. There is no system that can handle overpopulation.
bary1234 2 months ago
@bary1234 America has 5% of the world's population but consumes 25% of the world's resources. So, in terms of resources used, each new American born equals five world citizens. The idea that growing human numbers will destroy the planet is nonsense. BUT OVER-CONSUMPTION WILL.There is no exponential growth. In fact, population growth is slowing. For more than three decades now, the average number of babies being born to women in most of the world has been in decline.
CoolCollectableToys 2 months ago
@CoolCollectableToys : We cant destroy the planet. Planet is going to be fine. We cant even end all life. Life will continue, maybe even sentient life eventually. But we can kill all known species of animals and plants. And thats pretty much what we are doing.
bary1234 2 months ago
@bary1234 you contradict yourself ; on one hand you say "We cant destroy the planet" and then you go about the carbon foot print. Your loosing yourself in name calling and assumptions through your own ignorance and self worth. Everyone is part of the problem and the solution. I don't disclude myself but you appear to. I can tell you are a weak minded person, you cannot debate without resorting to name calling, you possibly have an anger problem. Take a breath and count to ten !
CoolCollectableToys 2 months ago
@CoolCollectableToys Planet is a big lump of rock. It will be here long after we are all gone.
Biodiversity is extremely fragile, and we are destroying it with amazing speed and efficiency. That we cant fix when its gone.
"Some scientists estimate that up to half of presently existing species may become extinct by 2100." From a paper from 2002, I dont have more recent studies. Thats 5 million from current 10 million species. You think that might affect us a bit?
bary1234 2 months ago
@bary1234 yes i do agree with that and that is due to over consumption
CoolCollectableToys 2 months ago
@CoolCollectableToys : Off course I dont disclude myself, I am a human being.

bary1234 2 months ago
@bary1234 my business is about recycling old goods and reselling them..... You only need to turn on your telly and its all about buy this buy that. What ARE you doing to put your money where your mouth is?
CoolCollectableToys 2 months ago
@CoolCollectableToys : People want more money. Everybody is greedy, its part of the makeup of our species.
I have two kids, I wont have more. I take same personal steps as you. I have no car, never did. I grow much of my own food. I dont buy what I dont need. I dont travel, and if I have to I go by train, not by plane.
I will educate my children, try to teach them not to give in to consumerism and appreciate the nature we still have.

@CoolCollectableToys You ask if superstitious idiots who believe in rapture and heaven have a purpose? Nothing they do has any bearing on reality, they live in a fantasy world. We dont go to creationists for science.
Superstiton is the secong biggest problem after overpopulation. And these two problems are very much linked.
bary1234 2 months ago
@bary1234 the stuff you believe in is superstiton ! I bet you 50 yrs time if the world eltists don't get their way that we will be still here talking about the same things.....you bought into them boy, big time and you know what your not even in the fucking club....you grow your own food thats good cause all the shite people get from supermarkets etc are part of depopulation plan along with the vaccines they dish out...don't take the flu vaccines whatever you do !
CoolCollectableToys 2 months ago
@CoolCollectableToys : Overpopulation is not superstition. Its just numbers.
Do you know what extinction means? Can you understand what it means when species go extinct? Do you understand what biodiversity is?
All that depopulation crap you wrote, damn what has happened to you? Are you sure you are not a christian? You sure sound like loony enough to be in the zombie-cult.
bary1234 2 months ago
@bary1234 species go extinct you know that and others are found, lots of species that we have not discovered yet and are discovering every day. I woke up thats whats happened to me and if you don't your going to be in for a big shock. Resorting to names again. I tell you this... meet me face to face and I will give you £1000 if you are standing 10 seconds after name calling me. @bary1234 what do you think of the above video Zeitgeist Moving Forward 2011 ?
CoolCollectableToys 2 months ago
@CoolCollectableToys Pipedream. People are too easy to corrupt, too lazy and greedy and stupid. Our lives are too short for us to care about our enviroment. We dont live to see the impact of our bullshit. When we find a new planet, we can try to do something like that. I think after we fuck up this one planet we will know better next time. Lets just home there is a next time, and we actually manage to move out in to space.
bary1234 2 months ago
@bary1234 Well some people believe that is already happening . But you need to and go witness a pandemic in real life that will maybe kick start your human feelings for others. Blame the top one percent, not the majority of the world's people, for environmental destruction. Its all about predictions and assumptions and you put your trust and believe them, your the fool.
CoolCollectableToys 2 months ago
@CoolCollectableToys Lets try another example, Wall-E was too hard apparently.
Do you row away from them, or die?
bary1234 2 months ago
@bary1234 I have ran out patience with you Its got fuck all to do with the 7 billion or even more. ITS THE 1% THAT IS DESTROYING AND RAPING THIS PLANET. Shell BP and other big Corps. Even if it goes down to 500 million the 1% will still rape this planet. You work in big business by any chance ? or are you just a dumb fuck ?...I'm fed up with you go and fuck off and support your big business friends you hypocrite!
CoolCollectableToys 2 months ago
@CoolCollectableToys : It hurts to fall from your high horse? Mr morality, what a joke. You just dont think about these things.
I gladly grant you that corporate greed and corruption is number three on the list of worlds biggest problems.
Put first is overpopulation of humans, and second is superstition.
bary1234 2 months ago
@bary1234 In 1968, Paul Ehrlich's bestseller The Population Bomb declared that as a result of overpopulation, "the battle to feed humanity is over," and the 1970s would be a time of global famines and ever-rising death rates. His predictions were all wrong, but four decades later his successors still use Ehrlich's phrase -- too many people! -- to explain environmental problems.
CoolCollectableToys 2 months ago
@bary1234 Most of the 7 billion are not endangering the earth. The majority of the world's people don't destroy forests, don't wipe out endangered species, don't pollute rivers and oceans, and emit essentially no greenhouse gases. Big corporations do that why for $.They make us live like this its their system over consumption.
And you want billions of innocent people to die due to a minority that want to rape the world for profit. Man seriously you are on the wrong side of the fence.
CoolCollectableToys 2 months ago
@bary1234 Even in the rich countries of the Global North, most environmental destruction is caused not by individuals or households, but by mines, factories, and power plants run by corporations that care more about profit than about humanity's survival. No reduction in U.S. population would have stopped BP from poisoning the Gulf of Mexico last year.Lower birthrates won't shut down Canada's tar sands one of the most staggering crimes the world has ever seen.
CoolCollectableToys 2 months ago
@bary1234 Universal access to birth control should be a fundamental human right -- but it would not have prevented Shell's massive destruction of ecosystems in the Niger River delta, or the immeasurable damage that Chevron has caused to rainforests in Ecuador.
CoolCollectableToys 2 months ago

CoolCollectableToys 2 months ago
@CoolCollectableToys : Nope, we need to pile humans on as small areas as we can. Massive skyscrapers and underground cities would be best. Less surface we occupy the better. Since that is not going to happen, lets just hope we somehow diminish our numbers before we fuck up too much of biodiversity. Some kind of lethal pandemic is long overdue.
And we cant give up technology, this planet is finite, and we must reach other planets before this one is ruined.

That does not change the fact that human overpopulation is the biggest problem on this planet.
bary1234 2 months ago
@bary1234 Forty years ago, the average woman had between five and six kids. Now she has 2.6. This is getting close to the replacement level which, allowing for girls who don’t make it to adulthood, is around 2.3, half the world already has a fertility rate below the long-term replacement level. That includes all of Europe, much of the Caribbean and the far east from Japan to Vietnam and Thailand, Australia, Canada, Sri Lanka, Turkey, Algeria, Kazakhstan, and Tunisia.
CoolCollectableToys 2 months ago
@bary1234 Demographers used to say that women only started having fewer children when they got educated and the economy got rich, as in Europe. But tell that to the women of Bangladesh, one of the world’s poorest nations, where girls are among the least educated in the world, and mostly marry in their mid-teens. They have just three children now, less than half the number their mothers had.
CoolCollectableToys 2 months ago
@bary1234 India is even lower, at 2.8. Tell that also to the women of Brazil. In this hotbed of Catholicism, women have two children on average—and this is falling. Women are doing this because, for the first time in history, they can.Better healthcare and sanitation mean that most babies now live to grow up. It is no longer necessary to have five or six children to ensure the next generation.
CoolCollectableToys 2 months ago
@bary1234 There are holdouts, of course. In parts of rural Africa, women still have five or more children. But even here they are being rational. Women mostly run the farms, and they need the kids to mind the animals and work in the fields. In remote villages in Yemen, girls as young as 11 are forced into marriage. They still have six babies on average. But even the middle east is changing.Iran in the past 20 years, Iranian women have gone from having eight children to less than two.

But we cant have even 7 billion, apparently.
bary1234 2 months ago
@bary1234 There is absolutely no scientific data whatsoever to support this claim. Even a scientist such as David Jablonski, who believes species will decline, says, "We have no idea how many species are out there and how many are dying." Some species, such as blue whales, spotted owls and blackfooted ferrets, have been found to be more numerous than was once thought. Since many species exist in forests and the earth's forest cover is remaining about the same.
